Just found this place and I must say that it is a welcome change to all the commercial eateries that plague Queen Creek.Immediately upon entering we were greeted and seated in a small and quaint yet elevated restaurant. Food choices were abundant and we settled on the Chops Diane and Bourbon and Bacon Salmon both of which were recommended by Renee. Both meals were delicious and well cooked/prepared. The salmon and pork chop were both moist and well seasoned. We finished the dinner off with the strawberry shortcake and it hit the spot. Our waitress Renee was out of this world, she was knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and had a welcoming personality. She is definitely 50% of the reason we will be returning.

Here's my humble advice to a new place I really want to love and frequent. This will be a picky review, but with the best intentions.Wife, brother and myself for early dinner Sunday. Friendly greeting and seating.Very nice ambience. Lighting and decor felt right. Table was a bit wobbly, and continued to slide around on the floor whenever nudged.Ordered Onion rings to start. Pretty good!Obviously house made, just a touch greasy, but good sweet onions.Wife ordered NY steak, and highly enjoyed it. She had a special caramelly spiced cocktail that was strong and delicious! No complaints about her meal at all.Brother had fish and chips. Said fish was soggy, as were the chips.7I ordered a house special, the brisket shoe.Slice of Texas toast, a sandwich amount of brisket, covered in a large mound of fries, and smothered in a white cheese sauce.Toast was lost. Needed to be a crustier bread to stand up to the toppings. Turned to mush.Brisket was unremarkable. Honestly, could barely taste it.Fries were bad. Limp, soggy , no color from frying. Because they were covered in sauce, they just turned to goo.How difficult is it to crispy fry? Under frying seems like a trend here. The cheese sauce was simply tasteless. Would have liked a strong, sharp white cheddar or Gouda.Dessert menu was tempting, so we all tried a different one. Brother had pecan pie, which was delicious. Wife had salted caramel ice cream and enjoyed it. Mine was the pumpkin fritters, which turned out to be a pretty decent beignet. Could have been more crispy, which would have made them less greasy.Service was good. Kept drinks filled.A few simple improvements would make this place a regular go to in this area, which is lacking this type of restaurant. Prices are above average, so expectations are as well.We will return and ask to have our food crisped up!P. S. Just returned from a trip to Chicago, where even the most humble sandwich shop serves delicious, fresh and crispy fries! Why can't that be done here?

We are new to the area and found this restaurant while reading about restaurant week. We had to go check it out. The decor is very pleasing, all of the people were friendly and we had great service. We love the music they were playing, and the fact that it was loud enough to enjoy, but not too loud that you couldn't easily have a conversation. I loved my bourbon bacon salmon meal with asparagus and Gouda mashed potatoes. Great flavors! My husband got the pork chop meal. The pork chop was very tender and crispy at the same time. The sage gravy was very nice and the mashed potatoes were just right. He especially enjoyed the mid west style green beans. We look forward to returning and trying some of the other menu items.

Salmon was light an flaky. Hubby loved the chicken fried steak and cleaned his plate. Topped it off with dessert to die for! Go enjoy now! New and not a lot of traffic. Can easily walk in an get a table. Hidden little secret till the word gets out.

Tried this on a whim as we were looking for something new! The ambiance was nice, simple but refined and the vibe was a blend between a sexy cocktail lounge and a steakhouse. Drinks were great, they have a seasonal menu of rotating cocktails and we tried the banana bread old fashioned made with Angels envy. So so so good! It was the recommendation of our waitress and was worth the try! I ordered the bruschetta chicken and it was well cooked and well seasoned. My only smidge of a complaint was that I wanted to sub the mashed potato with a pasta and they couldn't. It's not even enough for me to change my 5 star review because the potato's were SO GOOD! So a blessing regardless! My husband ordered Louisiana Cajun pasta and it was spicy, well seasoned and not a massive portion! He ate the bowl clean and that says enough! Our friends who were with us had the chicken and waffles and the bacon and bourbon salmon and they both enjoyed them! All in all worth a stop in as the service was wonderful and the food was great! Oh! Also, a nice bar set up with some large tv's for sports!

Went for dinner on a tuesday night right at 6 pm. Was a bit surprised that the place was only at 50 percent capacity since it was at a peak time. The host greeted us right away and sat us down with our menus. For an appetizer we got the Carmelized Roasted Brussel Sprouts($13). It has bits of maple bacon, crispy onion strings, sesame seeds, scallions and a sriracha aioli drizzle. This was incredible. It was a combination of a little bit salty, tang and just the right amount of kick that won't have you sweating. For the entrees I had the Southern Fried Chops($17) and my friend got The Sage n Barrel English Fish n Chips($21).The Southern Fried Chops were two decently sized battered boneless cuts served with herbed cream gravy, mash potatoes and green beans. The pork was tender and the batter had the nice crunch to it when you bite into it. The gravy they put on top of it was a type of chicken gravy which complimented the pork just right. The mash potatoes were fresh and had chunks of potatoes. The green beans were just meh. It did not appeal to me. I also ordered a side of Baby Spinach with Garlic($6). This was fire! I love anything garlic so spinach with garlic was a no brainer. I recommend substituting this for the green beans. It's just that the 6 bucks for a small bowl of spinach was a bit much in my opinion. The Sage n Barrel English Fish n Chips comes in either light cornmeal batter or pub style beer battered. She chose the latter. Came with fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. Again, portion size is huge. It looked as if they battered the whole fish. Batter was just ok which makes me wonder if the cornmeal version was better. Fries seemed soggy to me but that was ok because that's just how my friend likes it. Coleslaw was decent and the tartar sauce was basic.Service was commendable. Our server answered all our questions and got our order out in a timely manner. In closing the overall vibe of this place feels like it's business casual but most people who were dining at that time were wearing casual clothing like t shirts and jeans. If I were to describe the theme of the place, I would say it's a fusion of American, Italian, and Southern cuisine as evidenced on what you see on the menu. Was thinking of ordering steak next time but it's a bit pricey here. A 10 oz sirloin is $28. For a sirloin? All I can say is that it better be good for that price. Yelp 2024 Review #6933 overall

This hidden gem did not disappoint. We looked on Yelp for a new date night spot and found this place. It's beautiful inside and the food/drinks were top notch! I started with the banana bread old fashion. DELICIOUS!!!!!! We ordered firecracker shrimp as an appetizer. It had the right amount of kick to it and citrus flavor complimented it well. My husband ordered fish and chips and I had the brisket dip. It might be one of the BEST sandwiches I've ever tried. The au jus was sooooo good. The fish and chips were HUGE! We will be back in a heartbeat! Everything, including the server and her recommendations, was amazing!!!

I can't wait to go back! While I wouldn't order the southern fried pork chops again, I can't wait to try some of their other menu items. I was swayed by our server to try his favorite dish and it was good but just too heavy for my liking. The sage gravy was incredibly flavorful. The menu boasts so many delicious options and I can't wait to go back and try something else!Great ambience and service! Perfect for a girls night out or a date night! Such a nice addition to QC!

The food was phenomenal. A party of seven and everyone was thrilled with their meals. The salmon and roasted Brussels sprouts was beyond good! Two of my friends got the fish and chips and it was an enormous piece and they really loved it! Another friend had the fried chicken and waffles, again raved about it! My husband had the Brunch Burger and said it was excellent. We had pumpkin creme brule and pecan pie for dessert. Both were wonderful! Frankly, I can't wait to go back!

We just had an excellent dining experience at Sage & Barrel. The atmosphere was absolutely gorgeous-- black walls, hanging ivy, beautiful tables. It really made for a somewhat luxurious dining experience while maintaining a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Our server was Kelsey J. who was an excellent server, she was helpful, attentive and very funny. She informed us everything was made from scratch. We started with the Firecracker Shrimp which was excellent. They were grilled to perfection, coated in a spicy and sweet sauce topped with roasted chickpeas. For Entrees, I got the Louisiana Cajun Pasta. Oh my goodness, it was so delicious! The sauce was spicy but flavorful. My Dad got the Fish & Chips-- it was HUGE! Had to be about a foot long. He loved it and I tried some of his coleslaw which was out of this world. The fries were so good too.Everything, from the atmosphere, to the service, to the excellent food, was perfect! All of this for a good price, and a great lunch! We'll be back.
