Marino’s Italian Kitchen and Bar

We've been waiting to check out Marino's, we kept seeing it pop up on Instagram and the food looked delicious!Even though it was dinner time we got seated right away, our server Reid was very knowledgeable of the menu (everything looked super good so we had a lot of questions & needed suggestions).My favorite drink is a Hugo Spritz which is a drink I fell in love with while in Italy & the bartender knew exactly what it was (not many do, & it was made perfectly). Only thing we were bummed about is that night they were out of calamari, so we will definitely have to come back for that! For appetizers we ended up doing the Squash Blossoms & the Brussel Sprouts.. While for dinner I had the Short Rib Ravioli & my boyfriend had the Farfalle Alla Vodka, but subbed chicken for sausage..All & all, amazing service, excellent food, tasty drinks, great atmosphere.. and a good ol time! We look forward to next time.. (a little perk at Desert Ridge is if you wanna walk off all the food you just ate & finish your alcoholic drink you can walk around the shopping area, just ask for a wristband & to go cup before headed out)

I'm so grateful to be reminded of how bad a service and dining experience can be. OpenTable only allows for outdoor reservations, once we arrived and asked for indoor seating (the restaurant was empty) we were told they couldn't change reservations since they were too busy and didn't have room. Despite this multiple parties walked in after us and got indoor seating The outdoor seating had dirt and tree debris all over it and they didn't wipe it down before we were seated. My plate had a dead bug on it and my friend's plate had a leaf on it. We were waiting for a long time in the 110 degree heat before getting water. The server was very awkward and made lots of comments about me "probably being the funny guy" and not being able to read the room. And as we were sitting there my friend had multiple mesquite pods fall on him from the tree overhead and hit his head. That was the last straw. We had to get up and leave. May 5, 2024 and our group of 8 arrived with a reservation. We were quickly seated, given menus, and brought water. We ordered beverages and did not pay $30 corkage and elected to order wine off of the menu. The pear pressure and portified cocktails were wonderful, as was the dirty vodka martini. Our server, Jack, was unsure about some of the ingredients shown on the menu and I eventually asked him to ask the kitchen staff. Three of our group ordered meatballs, an appetizer, for dinner. The meatballs were delicious and the tables side grated parmesan cheese was a great addition. Seafood linguine had a great assortment of seafood, including octopus (one of my favorites). I was very surprised to see some sliced banana peppers/pepperoncinis in the marinara type sauce. The sea-bass was wonderful, and the sliced fennel sausage was a great surprise. The restaurant/bar layout is creative. There is a lot of parking.

I really enjoyed lunch here with my mom. The server was a very sweet redhead, I apologize I forgot her name. But she was very attentive and a really good server. My mom and I really loved the tomato sauce in the seafood linguine it was such a delicious pasta. The short rib pizza was also quite delicious, I really enjoyed all of it, especially the crust. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This restaurant is a great day date spot! We shared an appetizer and a pizza and then wandered Desert Ridge. It's conveniently located, has great ambiance, and delicious food. Our server was able to recommend a quality Pinot Noir to complement our pizza. It set off the whole meal perfectly! I highly recommend this spot for drinks and lunch!

We made a reservation for a Friday evening at this cute little newer spot in Desert Ridge. We were greeted immediately by two hostesses and then shown to our table. The indoor area has tables by the windows and then booths in the middle along with a bar. They have outdoor seating, that was mostly unoccupied since we were here during a very chilly AZ evening. Because Marino's is not too large and because it was busy, it could have been very loud, but they controlled the music level quite nicely so you could still talk and be heard comfortably at the table. No bland intro here-Julianne greeted us soon after we were seated to tell us she had been with the restaurant since they opened and that the food was amazing. I loved this! She gave us some time to look over the menu and then came back to take our drink order. I like their wine menu- we chose Edge from Alexander Valley and it was lovely. For appys we chose the meatballs and the squash blossoms (have this!). The red sauce on both may have been the same, but both dishes were so tasty it didn't matter. For dinner we ordered the pesto tortellini ($18) and the chicken parmesan ($27). Delicious!!! I could not make it through my dish so I did not order dessert, but I regretted not trying the tiramisu. Next time! The service here was superb and on point and the food was very good. I plan on returning regularly!

LUCKY us. We happened upon this jewel while visiting AMC theatre @ Deer Ridge marketplace.Julianna was our smiling, personable waitress who made our food even more enjoyable!Short rib pizza with ricotta cheese and caramelized onions was a nice change up for this boring Midwest couple. Meat was a little sparse, but that's ok, my coronary arteries don't relish it. Dough was crispy and soft all in the right places.Kale salad with squash and very light dressing was perfect pairing.We will be back!!

We had the worst service and food was nothing to rave about. My husband's steak was not cooked properly and my second drink took 20 minutes to be brought out! They brought the 2nd drink after I was done with my food, I said "I didn't want the drink now, took too long." This place will not last long if the service continues this way. We will not return.

Maria is awesome! She provides outstanding customer service and cares about her customers. She is so personable! The food is incredible!

We had an amazing experience at Marino's Italian Kitchen and Bar in Phoenix, thanks to our wonderful waitress, Marie. She treated us like family, making the evening special with her personable and attentive service. Marie ensured our food was delicious and served promptly, and her warmth and professionalism truly stood out. The restaurant ambiance was great, but it was Marie's exceptional service that made our visit unforgettable. Highly recommend!
