Kona Grill - Desert Ridge

Tonight we came for a quick dinner/date night. We order from Kona A LOT on DoorDash but decided to actually get out of the house and check out the semi-new location. It's beautiful. The food came out so quick, the sushi was amazing. We like eating here because I can get sushi and my fiancé can get whatever the heck he wants that isn't sushi.. haha Every person we came in contact with was awesome. Our server was Zhané and she was so much fun and had great recommendations for us. Her energy was fun, she absolutely knew her menu and knew what we needed. 10/10 will be back!!Love it here.

For a place whose sign says Steak, Kona Grill was extremely disappointing. We wished to get some steaks for dinner and thought we would try the rebranded Kona Grill at Desert Ridge. Even though they have cuts of meats such as ribeye, strips, and fillets and prime rib we were told they only have waygu cuts left and nothing of the choice or prime variety. I first ordered the ribeye, then the strip and then the filet only to be told each time they didn't have any. This was an early dinner service too. When I asked the server to double check, she said the prime rib just "came in. " We settled for the prime rib and that was terrible. It was dry, cold and super salty at the same time. I'm not sure we got fresh prime rib. The mash potatoes appeared as if they came from the school line with a nice ice cream scoop ball shape. Also pass on the fried rice. It was dry, and ultra salty as well. It's also an additional 8 bucks to add a protein to it. We got the pork, It looked like sliced ham. The pricing is outrageous too. $14 for salted edamame is crazy! It's the same price for a bowl of miso soup too. I'd pass on this place, Go to The Keg, Thirsty Lion or BJ's before you head to KG. They are in the same parking lot as KG, and you won't be disappointed. The ambiance was quiet because the restaurant was empty. It looks new because it opened 4-5 months ago. On a positive note, at least there wasn't a wait for a table.

Why does this restaurant management allow fake reviews like this? I've been around restaurants for 40 years and I've never seen a restaurant have servers called out by name in five and six reviews in a row. Some of them with the same name.I am sure "T" and Shane are fine people, but the fact that they have multiple reviews within minutes of each other and getting their name in the review is a red flag. I'm wondering if corporate management knows about this blatant abuse of this platform? you are intentionally misleading, prospective visitors to your establishment. Despicable.

Whenever a restaurant has 9 or 10 reviews in a row where the reviewer is pimping the server by name, it's fake. Absolutely fake. This is not how this platform should be used, where a restaurant abuses it and takes advantage of it. I know for a fact the servers are asking customers to leave five star reviews and to use the server's name in the review. How Yelp allows this restaurant to get away with service staff bribing guests for fake reviews is beyond me.Expensive, and below average food and drinks, too. Imagine my shock.

Average restaurant with ok service but we had mixed feelings about the food. Starting off with the searing hostess, she greeted us and welcomed us to the restaurant, and after an awkward 10-15 second silence looking for a seat for us, she walked us to our table (restaurant was 90% empty). We got seated and the server came and welcomed us, introduced himself and asked if we wanted to drink something, and both my mom and I just got water, server took the wine glasses and left. After the server left, I noticed we got seated at a table with one knife and the rest of the sliverwear missing. We got the server's attention and let him know that I didn't want to grab it from another table but just so you know we have no silverware. He conveniently grabbed it from the table next to us. The reason I'm mentioning this is that 1- hostess left the entire restaurant and sat us at this table, but she didn't even notice that silverware was missing. 2- server also failed to notice silverware missing after taking the wine glasses away. Now to the food. I got the pad Thai and my mom got the stir fry. She loved her stir fry, and that's where most of the 3 stars go to. My pad Thai was not the greatest. Very dense. The noodles were all lumped up in a big square. I had to use a knife or my fork to cut it up. Reminded me of the ready made pad Thai noodles I used to get from boxed noodles where I just soak in hot water and the noodles would get stuck and lumpy. Not sure what it was but could be lack of sauce to make the noodles separate a bit. Or it could have been a packed ready made rice noodles that just got soaked in hot water and the dry ingredients dumped in there. It's unfortunate because the flavor was somewhat decent, but not the texture.Next time I'll probably just stick to some sushi

Brand new feeling, very open seating, too low honestly. The backs of the booths only reach to about shoulder blades, this causes it to be loud & the conversations behind you carry onto yours. The front seating against the windows is warm in the afternoon with no shades to limit the heat transfer, you can feel it on your skin.The HH 3oz prime rib & 3 "prawns" was very disappointing- 2.5oz of the prime rib was fat, the "prawns" were overcooked (rubbery), the spicy tuna was good, sliders were good, side of fries were the best. The potstickers were delicious, the BBQ chicken flatbread is excellent, the Bama roll was very good as well.Our server Zack is excellent, 1st server in a long time to state his name up front & was very attentive, making sure the drinks were filled out of we needed anything else ordered before HH ended.

Woah. This place must be hurting, if you scroll through the reviews you can very clearly see about 70% of the reviews are fake accounts. Sooooo terribly desperate. Do better Kona Grill!

Food is amazing and T our waitress is possibly the best waitress I've ever had ! The restaurant is clean and beautiful

Hana was an amazing server! Me and some girlfriends came in for dinner and had the best time. The dj was playing all the best hits, the drinks were delicious and the food was even better. Thank you Hana for making our night so fun!
