I've gone to the one in Tempe so was very excited to try out the new one closer to my home. The first time I went in October on a Friday night it was fantastic! Food, drinks, service were all amazing. Went for a 2nd time in July on a Sunday around lunch and it was a bit different. Food was great but they ran out of Rice Paper which is my favorite. We could tell that it was short staffed that day so wanted to just order quickly to leave the server alone to focus on other tables, except he almost never came to our table... we were a party of 7 so when he did he would only talk to one side of the table and then leave without talking to the other side. Also about 10 minutes into being sat , they sat another large party with this server I felt that was poor planning on the hostess part because the server was already overwhelmed with us, then gets double sat. Not paying attention to the little details, They brought me my Saki capri sun drink with the little light cube out of battery and a piece of straw paper inside of it. Great potential but that day was not there best , hope to go back and see improvement.

Gen Korean BBQ House is like stepping into an 80s nightclub with a twist of culinary adventure. The ambiance is a unique blend of intimate and open, creating an engaging dining experience that's both family-friendly and stylish. With the typical Korean BBQ setup at your table, it adds an interactive element to your meal. The food selection at Gen is impressive, offering a variety of meats that stay true to the authentic Korean BBQ experience. The drink choices are great, ensuring you have the perfect beverage to complement your meal. The fun part is cooking your own food right at the table, which adds a bit of excitement, though it does make the experience feel a bit less swanky compared to having a chef prepare it for you.Service is where Gen really shines. The staff are super attentive, ensuring that the food keeps coming at a steady pace. They're always helpful and accommodating, making sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable meal.In summary, Gen Korean BBQ House offers a fun and engaging dining experience with its 80s nightclub ambiance, excellent food selection, and top-notch service. It's a great spot for a lively meal with family or friends. I'd give it a solid 4.5 stars--come for the fun, stay for the fantastic service and delicious food.

To start off, we came here on a Sunday as a family to treat ourselves as we don't go out all together very often. We were seated, and it took a while for someone to greet us. About five minutes after we were seated another family was seated next to us. They had speedy service throughout from the same waiter. The good is that the meat and food is always good! Bad, extremely slow service, waited 20 minutes for beverages and finally had to go get the drinks ourselves from the bartender. This happened a few times on the timing of drinks. We ordered a few spicy beefs and enjoyed them. We went to re-order some more and we're told that they were out because we ate them all. The timeline again for us to be notified of this was about 20 to 30 minutes. The family seated next to us actually offered us some of their food because they saw that we were waiting for so long. We spoke to one of the managers behind the bar and he didn't really seem to care. The place was not busy at all just poor time management. After coming here a few times a month, this was our last visit.

This Gen Korean BBQ House is our go-to All You Can Eat BBQ spot! It's usually a minimal wait time. Their other location in Tempe always has a really long wait list on the weekends. The meat is great quality and we rotate through the usual suspects: chadol, woo beasal, galbi, & bulgogi. We've tried the premium menu add on a couple times and it was good, but we're alright sticking with their regular menu. Their music system is setup nicely for birthdays and they do fun shoutouts! The service is typically good. Every once in a while, we get a server that forgets our drinks, but it doesn't happen too often. It's got great mood lighting and looks much more modern and upscale than traditional K-BBQ restaurants.

Fun experience cooking our own food. Go with a group because it makes it more fun plus you get to try more things. We got the wagyu beef, shrimp, carne asada and the al pastor. A few at our table also got the ribeye. The green tea salt was so good on everything. All the meat came out preseasoned and it cook surprisingly fast. The waiter was great and food came out fast. Probably not a good restaurant for kids as the cooking unit is part of the table you are sitting at and it gets very hot. Our team loved the experience and will likely do it again.

Oh, KBBQ, I love you soju much!I just realized that after coming to this second location, not all Gen Korean BBQ Houses are the same. While the food quality and portions are about the same as their Tempe location, they were out of a multitude of items like red wine pork belly, rice paper, daikon wraps, the house salad, pork cheeks, et cetera. While there isn't a maddening wait time like the Tempe location, you won't get to experience the full menu, so consider that when deciding which location you want to give your money to.Lots of space, no wait time, and the women's restroom only had one working stall. Also, during the weekends, this plaza gets busy, so have fun parking.

Gen offers tasty AYCE Korean BBQ at a bargain! The standard Mon-Thurs lunch price at Gen is only $21.99. Lunch includes a wide variety of appetizers, banchan, and meats. Some of the star items were the samgyubsal (pork belly), hangjungsal (pork cheek), and nook gan sal (marinated beef finger short rib). The meats were delicious and great quality for the price. The only drawback about Gen is that they seemed understaffed when we went. Although the servers were friendly and tried to be as attentive as possible, we could tell they were a bit overwhelmed by the lunch rush. We did not receive a few items, but the corrections were quick when we asked. Overall, Gen is the place to get the best bang for your buck for AYCE Korean BBQ!

Who doesn't like k-bbq! Took my team out for dinner to celebrate year end. Got the standard all you can eat, and it was enough. Save room for Korean dessert at the end. The service at this location was fast and attentive. The place is clean and not busy (no line on Wednesday night).

Unique experience, cook dinner right at the table! Food is well seasoned and cut into portions, just cook to your own individual liking, we did the $30 all you can eat and definitely got our moneys worth! Our server was funny and informative, gave a birthday shout out to my husband! Food was delicious and a great experience, even the kids enjoyed it! Music was such a good vibe and not too loud, we could easily hold a conversation.

We recently visited this location in chandler we usually go to Tempe but I'm glad we found something closer to us, the food comes out pretty quickly which is great since you have 90 min to eat. Our server was very attentive even though he had many tables to attend. We will definitely be going back to this location
