"A surprise finding for delicious sushi rolls. Came here for dinner. Didn't have to wait long for a table. We got some spicy edamame and a few rolls. The OMG roll was baked and delicious but my favorite of the night was the salmon lover roll. The ingredients and flavors were so light and refreshing. Would definitely go for that roll again! The place was busy but overly noisy, the staff sas efficient and friendly."

"Our first meal in Scottsdale. Interesting this restaurant is actually from San Francisco. But we'v never visited that one even though we'v visited SF many times. We requested a counter seating but the host girl forgot about it. So we had to ask to be moved to the counter. Minor issue but the dinner experience was good enough. Menu was usual Japanese and Asian fusion items. Not gluten friendly but they offer tamari at least! We ordered quite a few items to share. We had fresh oysters, tuna tartare crispy rice, shishito peppers, salmon sashimi, mushroom miso soup, uni sushi, toro tartare, scallop and mushroom skewers as tapas. Also steak and whole Branzino as entrees. The food was delicious and fresh in healthy portions. The cocktails were tasty and strong. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive the entire time. We liked the food and service but the ambiance was so crowded and noisy. A decent Japanese restaurant but don't think we will visit again next time. Mainly I am not a fan of overpriced Japanese food. I don't drink most of the time now so I can't eat raw when I don't drink alcohol. Still a solid dinner experience to start our Arizona trip nicely! Ps. Valet disappeared when we came out, complimentary valet so they leave as they please?!"

"In a non descript strip mall, you'll find this excellent sushi restaurant, and I ended up here last week after a car maintenance appointment.I definitely like really good pieces of fresh sushi, and this place did not disappoint and made me pretty happy.I sat at the sushi bar, and the sushi chef helped to serve me. I first started with the blue fin, and this was very tasty. I don't really put any soy sauce on my pieces of fish as I enjoy it raw with a smear of wasabi.Next, I had the nanbanzuke. When I asked the chef what this is, he described it as kind of like chicken nuggets. I don't know thats how I would have described it, but it was tasty. It's really a marinated fish of your choice that has a coating that's been fried or perhaps pan-fried. This felt like a comfort dish, and I could have used some rice with it.The last thing I had was tuna belly, and that was just delicious! And I loved how it was fresh and a little fatty in texture.Overall, it was a great experience, and I'll definitely be back when I am in the area and want some nice pieces of sushi!"

They offer a happy hour menu all day Monday thru Thursdays and 11:30-4 pm on Fridays. Hubs always orders spicy tuna roll $5.95, and I ordered a Halloween roll $7.95 ( shrimp salad, cucumber, masago and avocado) it was light and tasty especially with the sauce that was on the side. We also got a free order of gyoza with Yelp check in. It ended up being a very cheap lunch! The regular prices seemed very reasonable too. Service was very friendly and fast. Would definitely come again when we have a bigger appetite as I want to try their ramen and other rolls."

We sat down and started to look over the large and amazing menu. They have a great deal for $31 which includes a Asahi Beer Tower and two appetizers! This is a huge deal and I was impressed with the price. We ordered that along with fried calamari and spicy tuna tartar. Both were amazing. We then ordered some Yakitori, some great rolls, sashimi, and really good drinks! The waitress was awesome and the food was top notch. I'll be adding this place to my list for when I come back here!"

"Although Gosan is priced higher than other poke spots, the fish and marinades have greater quality. The menu consists of sashimi, rolls, and poke bowls. There are preselected combinations but I always enjoyed making my own. The staff have always been kind and the scoops are generous. =POKE=There were standard bases of white rice, brown rice and salad. Besides the plain versions, the fish came with either a mayo, sweet or spicy marinade. The hot spicy albacore and tuna had a red chili forward profile that brought in the heat. Hawaiian tuna was a mixture of salty and sweet. The creamy wasabi tuna was mayo forward and surprisingly sweet, not my favorite as the wasabi fails to stand out. The scallops are my personal favorite as these plump mollusks soak up the sweet creamy sauce well. I was happy to see a decent selection of vegetables and fruits. Seaweed salad and imitation crab weren't priced extra. Avocado cost more to add on. Although there are sauces available, I wouldn't recommend adding on more given the high liquid content and flavorful marinades already. The sauces primarily had a soy or sriracha base. Very fast service and a perfect spot for lunch or dinner. Seafood has always been fresh and I love the ingenuity of the marinades."

We were a party of 6 and got seated pretty quickly.Found out pretty quickly that it was all you can eat and got to work on placing my orders. The seafood salad was super duper sugary and tasted like the package ones you get from the Asian grocery store. I had two bites and left it. The tofu soup was even worse, it was basically packaged miso soup add it with water, and there were pieces of tofu in the soup. This is definitely not the Korean tofu soup that it claims to be. Prices are reasonable, but I definitely would not return for the food."

Our table ordered the chips, queso and salsa for the appetizer, a burger and fries, the Arizona roll with jalapeño added as well as hot wings. Everything came out at a decent time. The chips and queso were good. The salsa had a decent kick to it. Everything else was awful. Burger dry and fries soggy. The sushi was mush and way too warm. Unfortunately even with the added jalapeño and spicy mayo it wasn't hot at all. The wings were over done with no real sauce. We all left feeling meh about it all. I'd like to try and come back and try again, but to me it's definitely not as great as it used to be. If you're there just drink the bar is great. Vibe is ok. Definitely a sports bar vibe."

It was super clean and decent parking (I went right when they opened on Saturday). Our server was really nice, attentive, and on top of our lunch service. Sashimi sampler plate was really fresh and decent cuts, except for the octopus. Unfortunately, it was very chewy. Even my mom was saying she might choke because it's not breaking down as we're chewing. Music was a little too loud when we walked in, but perhaps it was just on at the level from the night before, Friday night club scene. Otherwise, between 1 lunch special, sashimi sampler, and vegetable tempura with 2 waters tab was $170, not including tip. It was slightly overpriced, in my opinion. We had the option to sit anywhere and it was very nice to get to sit inside and still get some outdoor fresh air and sun....the magic table that gets the best of both worlds is in the corner table, bench seating right on the edge of inside and outside. You'll thank me later, you're welcome, ha. Would still come back based on our service and freshness with their sashimi."

They were yummy and we devoured everything. My husband was also excited to get an Orion beer (they are brewed in Okinawa Japan and imported). Service was great, the servers were very attentive. The place did start to pickup greatly once 6pm came so we were glad we arrived earlier. The decor is subtle and nice. The pricing was a bit high but we knew the costs for what we ordered. With tax and tip we spent a little over $90."

"Don't skip the lunch menu here. You can get a giant meal for under $20. It'll last for 2 meals, effectively making each meal less than $10. I think the lunch menu is only M-F but it's never too busy during lunch, service is nice and the food is great. I usually just get water with lemon bc I really like to taste all of my food. So no beverage was counted in the cost. After tip it was over $20. I was absolutely starving when I was here but left so full with extra food for another meal. They have a few TVs on, so even if you go by yourself and forgot your phone, you're not just eating quickly and leaving. As far as the food goes: Miso soup- pretty standard as all miso soup is pretty similar. Spicy crab roll - it wasn't mostly rice, so that's always good. I think they may have changed either the sushi rice recipe or the actual rice as it was different than I remember here but it was still pretty good. I could have had it spicier though. I used *all* of the wasabi & they now use "Melinda's sriracha" which is also different. Most sriracha fans know about the shortage though. Chicken katsu- decent but it was pretty basic. I think their pork katsu has better flavor. I wanted to try something different this time, but if you're having trouble deciding, the pork is better in my opinion. Teriyaki beef- so so so good. The beef is always tender and flavorful. It's really my favorite place to get beef teriyaki and I don't go anywhere else for it. Korean sides- yum. Really that one word suffices. You get different kinds of sides, but kimchi is always one of them. It's always delicious here. The spring roll they include tastes like a standard frozen veggie spring roll but it doesn't bother me. There are karaoke rooms too, so karaoke isn't limited to the east side. When I was here there were not that many patrons, but seemed like quite a few to-go orders. Keep this place busy so it never closes."

They were also fast and efficient in bringing out the food. The food, however, was mediocre at best, the quality of the fish was a lower grade, and there was not a lot of variety on the menu. The fish was chewy and stringy. Parking was easy, interior was OK, bathrooms were reasonably clean."
