"This Indian restaurant is still a 5 star for me. Here's an updated review since it has been a few years! Did an early Valentine's Day lunch buffet and as always the food was delicious. A few items had a bit of a kick.A buffet is a great choice to try several dishes that might be new to you! There was a fried cabbage dish that I had not tried before. Chicken seemed to be the main meat offering in many of the dishes, so if you want something not chicken related, the main menu might be a better choice.Service at noon was quick and our dirty dishes were whisked away quickly. I enjoy the interior, as there is always lots of tables."

We walked up to the counter and it was a bit awkward as the cashier didn't greet us nor acknowledge us. After a few minutes, she saw us looking at the menu overhead and pointed at the menu on the counter. She gave us each our entrée and then just tossed the utensils onto the table and walked away...We began to eat and the food was good. The portions were ehhhh though as I felt like I was served more salad then chicken / rice. Wish I had gotten more rice and or protein.The desserts were unique. We tried their mango Lassi smoothie and it was good, but lukewarm. We also tried Gulab Jamun - milk-based pastry balls with honey-flavored syrup and they were ok.The inside is cute and clean. When I moved to Chandler & realized they had a Scottsdale location 20 minutes away I was all over it.Vegetable samosas - crispy filled pastry filled with potatoes, peas, and spices. 2 pieces. Served with chutney.Vegetable curry - mixed vegetables in a spiced sauce. Ofcourse I made it extra hot.Peas Pulao - basmati rice sautéed with turmeric, onions, peas, almonds, & raisins.Garlic roti - whole wheat Indian bread. The only bad thing I can say is the parking is horrible as this is a busy area with lots of restaurants & not enough parking.I've been to Taj Mahal (both locations) many times & every thing is always great. This is by far my favorite restaurant in AZ."

"This place is pretty good! Similar flavors to the previous Indian restaurant that was here. Went on opening day and was quoted 30 mins for a to-go order...order came out as quoted. Food was flavorful and the butter chicken was not overly spicy...I prefer extra spicy, so I wish they would ask how spicy you like it. The food had good quality as well and tasted fresh.It looks like they still have the buffet tables (pushed to the back and out of the way), so no buffet was setup when I was there :-(I don't know if the "Grand Opening" menu I ordered from on opening day is going to be their permanent menu (it looked pretty official as the menu was in color and well laminated). That said, everything is al-a-carte. I was fortunate enough to eat here on opening day and my meal was half off, but would have otherwise cost me $23.18 for an order of butter chicken, butter naan, and white rice...a lil pricey for my liking. Will I still eat here? Absolutely! I will just eat here less often and save it for special occasions!"

"I keep going back for the incredible food! I normally avoid buffets like the plague, but I set my phobias aside for my love of this place. If you are not a fan of a buffet, you can skip lunch time and try the dinner menu. I do wish the food had more heat to it, but the owner kindly explained to me that the vast majority of the people in America cannot handle Indian spice levels, so they tone it down for their typical Arizona guest. Don't get me wrong, the flavor and quality are still top notch.Some of my favorites so far are the goat vindaloo (not spicy at all), samosas with chutnies, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and the chicken curry. Service is always impeccable and attentive."

"Used a night in by myself as an opportunity to order a ridiculous amount of Indian food to enjoy! I have been really impressed with the Indian food in north Phoenix and sweet magic is part of that! I ordered delivery through door dash, they accept the order right away and the restaurant had my food ready quick. I typically get some sort of dal dish because I love lentils, but yesterday I got the malai kofta. I also got a masala dosa, which is one of my faves. I got spring rolls too! Spring rolls were crispy on the outside, kinda soft and a little doughy on the inside but good! The malai kofta was creamy and flavorful without being too spicy. The masala dosa was my favorite of everything I got! Would definitely order from here again."

Overall I would recommend this place.Here are my takes:Food/Drinks: Plenty of options on menu and they do specials as well often. This place is a gem of the Indian restaurants in the valley. Everything tastes good overall. when you try 100 things then there may be a few that you will feel is better at other places and the same I felt but overall excellent quality here. Service: Quick order and food gets served fast at your table with no long wait. We ordered one of their special fish of the day and ended up leaving it on the plate since we did not like the taste. When staff saw that we did not like they removed the dish from the final bill by themselves. Shows how appreciative they are for your presence and how hard they try to keep things better. Ambiance: Nice interiors, plenty of seating, and an overall well-decorated restaurant.Hygiene: Everything was clean and tidy overall in the restaurant except the restrooms. Price: I wouldn't say nominal price but not overpriced for sure. Worth going for a good Indian food dine-in experience.If this place was near my home then I wouldn't mind being regular here."

I had never tried idly before but thought it was really good! I love any kind of lentil dish, and the spinach dal was amazing. Very spicy for me so I had to take breaks while eating it haha but it was so delicious. It's a small and quiet place, but they do play indian music in the background, which I appreciated. There was one waiter for all the tables, and he looked miserable, but he got it done. We got paneer kati rolls for appetizers (not photographed), and for our meals, I got chicken Tikka masala, husband got lamb roganjosh, and we shared garlic naan and nut and raisin naan. I loved our entrees. They were a big portion, came with rice, and were extra buttery and rich. Only downside was the naan. They had no garlic/nut raisin flavor at all. They just tasted like regular naan."

The Jeera Aloo (cumin potatoes), chicken tikka, butter chicken, Daal fry, goat curry, goat paaya (trotters), nihari, Halwa, poori, phirni, Naan, everything is on-point and taste so yummy. The basmati rice is cooked so well, as soon as I opened the lid of the cooker, it smelled so fragrant and tasted just like home. Unlike many restaurants that serve different meats in the same curry, this place has a blend of spices that reminds me of food back home in India (similar to Pakistani food). This continues to remain my favorite South East Asian food restaurant in the area. Even after filling up on all the food, I don't feel overstuffed or lazy, it's really something I would recommend to anyone looking for authentic flavors, in a heartbeat."

"Every time I've been to Tumeric grocery store this food truck has been parked there but closed. Today I went around night time and to my surprise it was actually open with people actually getting food! SUPER excited to try it out as I crave Indian street food. I decided to get an appetizer the Chaat Paapdi which was about $8. Price was ok given todays inflated economy but there were TWO major issues. The portion of this tiny little thang was way too small. But the bigger problem was that there were NO SAUCES!! I get it, there's variations to this dish but literally no yogurt, no green chutney, no tamarind sauce!? How in the world are we supposed to eat dry hard crackers with chickpeas placed on top?! Luckily for me I had some tamarind sauce at home that I was able to put on top to save the dish. But imagine if I didn't?! Service was good. Nice lady. Quick to make it. Said it would take 15-20 mins but felt more like 7mins. Will I be back? Yes to give it another chance. But definitely not leaving till I get my sauces"

"We ordered Bhel puri, 2 platters one with malai kofta and other with panner, Gobi Manchurian, panner paratha and veg biriyani. Everything was so good and we were in love with the simplicity and the quality which did not compromise the taste of the food. Happy to have found a good vegetarian restaurant. Recommend hard core vegetarians to check out this place and you won't regret. Note to the Business: We saw in our receipt a 20% gratuity and a 3% administrative fees( which we have never seen anywhere else and donno what's that's for ) however for the service tax and the administrative fees paid it would have been nice, to have the meal in a proper plate instead of a paper plate. Because when we come in a group and order 7 different items we tend to share and taste all the foods."
