This is the best Pho we have ever been to, it is family run. Owner is involved but not overbearing. We have been going here for 10 years because it was 3 miles away. We moved away and now it's 15 miles away and we travel here passing up 4 other Vietnamese restaurants. Great food and fast service

Another year, another +1 on my continued adoration of this spot. It's gotten so they do not even ask me to order, they bring me the #7 lunch special without asking. Or maybe they just missed me as the holidays had interrupted my normal lunch schedule. Thank you Pho Tau Bay!

Great food and service most of the time! Most of the pho dishes are good, the Vietnamese eggrolls and spring rolls are great. Refills of tea and water are slow or nonexistent. The owner and son are really friendly. It is a must eat except on Sundays from 12-3 when church lets out.

Food is always flavorful and well presented. I've been going there for about 8 years now and the service has always been great and consistent. It's a typical mom and pop location, older seating and older looking setting. Regardless, this is one of my favorite Pho locations! I always get the grilled shrimp & pork vermicelli with a side of beef broth and grilled pork spring rolls. Their pho broth is always AMAZING and their grilled pork is always consistently good. Let's just say I'm always full and satisfied when I leave. Will continue to come back!

Giving this place one star because I have to rate something in order to write a review. The reviews I read on yelp.. completely shocked because I had the worst experience. I have never had a bad Vietnamese food experience. We ordered through Uber Eats and got two pork Banh Mi's, one beef banh mi, egg rolls, & dessert Che mau 3. All 3 banh mi's that we ordered were so dry and the bread was so hard and chewy that it was almost not edible. It felt like the bread was old old. The pork and beef were so dry!!! The egg rolls.... What.... It tasted like it was straight up minced garlic and taro.. under cooked . Che Mau 3... I literally threw the whole dessert away. The beans I think may have gone bad because something in the dessert tasted extremely sour. This location is not it for banh mi's , egg rolls, or Che. Do not order these items from here. I'm a regular for eating Vietnamese food in cypress and houston area and this Vietnamese restaurant is just not it! Please do not ever order the egg rolls.... I'm writing this review a day later and thinking about how the food tasted... those egg rolls were by far the worst egg rolls I have ever had. Imagine 3 cups of minced garlic wrapped with taro and a fried wonton wrapper. That's what it tasted like... (i love garlic but those egg rolls are not it). The gone bad Che Mau... still cringing from how sour it tasted.

The service and fast and the food is excellent! I can't wait to return! I started off with a Thai tea (you can't change the sweetness so too bad!) I had and order (which came with 2) spring rolls. I should have only eaten one but the second one was calling my name. Then I had the delicious pork and shrimp plate. Everything was delicious. I was jealous of my friend who order the chicken bahn mi. It looked so good and she said it delicious and ate it all. When we went to pay at the counter they nice gentleman gave us a bottled water! I can't recommend this place enough!!

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!! I wasn't feeling too well and was craving for something light to soothe my stomach without aggravating it. I immediately thought about some delicious Pho soup because it's soothing to the soul when one is sick with the flu or cold, or when one is just having some plain old stomach complications like myself. I have this weird stomach condition where certain foods upset my stomach like tomatoes, nuts, spicy foods, raw jalapeños, oranges, pineapples, etc, which are all foods that I enjoy. Bomber! Firstly, I had never visited this establishment until today. I knew of other Pho establishments where I could get some great tasting Pho, but I've always wanted to give this place a try. So, I thought to myself, "Hey, today is the perfect day to give this place a try." Secondly, upon entering, I was not greeted properly, but instead I was gawked at like a foreigner in an unknown land or time. Finally, after an uncomfortable thirty seconds or so of undesirable gawking, I was confronted by a male gentleman who was toting a menu in his hands. I greeted him, "Hello. How are you?" He immediately handed me the menu without so much as a, "hello," or "how are you?" I thanked him for the menu and asked him if they serve vegetable pho. He said yes and so I proceeded to order the vegetable pho soup with beef broth to go. After I paid my tab, I took a seat at one of the many available tables in the dining area. The dining area is spacious with clean tables, chairs, and floors. Kudos to them for that because I love cleanliness. Next, while I waited for my order, I thumbed through the menu that the gentleman handed me when I walked in. I took the liberty to take some photos of certain items such as their soups and their lunch menu specials. I also snapped a few shots of their golden Buddhas, which I'm obsessed with. As I was taking photos, I noticed the workers staring at me with confused looks on their faces, wondering why I was taking photos. Therefore, I ended my photo shoot, because I felt uncomfortable. Furthermore, when the gentleman that served me brought my order out to me, I thanked him and he mumbled something that I could not understand and then walked away. I proceeded to open the bag and check my order before leaving the restaurant just to verify it was correct. After checking it and seeing that everything was good to go, I began to close the bag and re-tie it. As I was doing this, the gentleman that served me walked up behind me and asked me if everything was correct. I told him yes that everything was correct and that it looks delicious and that I could not wait to get home to try it. I took this opportunity to also let him know that it was my first time at their restaurant, I am a Yelper, and that I do reviews on Yelp. When I said these words to him, his entire demeanor and attitude instantly changed. He perked up and smiled at me. Can you believe it? He smiled at me. Next, he said, "Oh you do review on Yelp! Yes, please give us a good review!" Lol hilarious! Overall, I enjoyed the vegetable Pho! It was absolutely delicious and soothing to my stomach. The beef broth was full of marinated robust flavors! Because of bad experiences at other Vietnamese establishments that don't peel the tail off the shrimp or devein the shrimp, I added my own shrimp to it when I got home. Therefore, I can't confirm how this establishment serves their shrimp pho. Would I return? I certainly would! However, I don't think I would dine-in because of the customer service. It's not too great. This review could have been five stars if the customer service would have been friendly and welcoming. It didn't sit well with my spirit how the man perked up and started to be nice to me after I told him I was taking photos for Yelp for my review that I planned on doing. As a result of this, I am giving three stars.

Best Vietnamese restaurant in Texas! I've tried over 30 different spots between Houston, San Antonio, and Austin, but Pho Tau Bay takes the cake. They have the best peanut sauce of any of these restaurants by a landslide. I always enjoy the flavor of the beef and chicken pho, and the flavor has been consistent for years. The vermicelli bowls are on point, rice plates are insane when you add the fried egg, and the bahn mi are the best because of the type of bread they use. It's a fantastic quality bread that's slightly more airy than most pho shops use, and it always pairs well with a fried egg too. It's a family run pho shop. Don't expect a 5 star waiting service, but they do take care of you. Always clean inside. My family loves this place!

The service and food are impeccable! I was introduced when I was 15. I am now 24 and still a returning client!Recently went to have dinner with my family, and lost track of time, ended up leaving 3 minutes until closing time. However, not one comment or action was made to try to have us rushed out. Our waiter was also very kind and patient on informing my husband what was on our menu. 10/10 would recommend!
