New owner, food quality are not as good as previous owner. They sell bún bò Huế with phở meat and broth. I told them about it, they said others didn't have problem with it. Never again.

Like a weed that popped up in your back yard in the middle of the night, you might notice this little tidbit as you drive down 249 while trying not to run into the car in front of you.Hello Yelp friends, I'm here to tell you about this new (very old shopping center) Pho restaurant that popped up sometime in early July 2015. In the evenings that I visited here, I can tell you parking is definitely not a problem. It is located on the same parking lot of a Hartz Chicken buffet. When you step in you will notice that it is a small restaurant with absolutely no frills in decor. It is a sit-down, shut up and eat establishment which falls not too much short on some of it's surrounding competitors. Do not get me wrong, the owners are very very nice and attentive but I am afraid that this business might not last very long. Please prove me wrong, I am all for the mom and pop establishments and there is already one a few blocks from my house that seems to be struggling as well. The food is decent. I had Bun Bo Hue on my first visit which proves itself nothing near the level of flavor that I had in Beaumont but then again I still have not yet found a Bun Bo Hue that could rival the level in the said restaurant in the other city. My second dish I had was the grilled pork and rice which comes with a fried egg over easy on top with a small type of salad on the side. This dish I am mentioning is worth trying first before venturing on to the other comfort dishes. There are two televisions to view while you are eating.Don't let the spooky hallway scare you on the way to the restrooms. They're not dirty but they are not plush, typical semi clean facilities maybe not messed up because of the lack of traffic going in there anyways.I am not sure if it's a daily thing but both of the times I came in the guy brings out this glass of iced tea (I suspect green tea fused with a hint of maybe a lick of ginger), and tells me that it's free......what if I or the customers don't drink Iced Tea?.....well, I do and it's a good gesture.I am feeling that the rest of the patrons that try this place might rate it at an average of 3 stars but the combination of a mom and pop place, friendly service and complimentary iced tea has me boosting my yippee vote a notch. Oh, I forgot to add, the prices might be a tad more than what you are used to seeing but do not let that deter you, you have to try anything once right?

I used to come here for my pho fix because it's so close. Service is friendly and fast, but the establishment isn't exactly the cleanest place.PHO DAC BIET 249I love that this place always give so much meat. They're not stingy at all! The broth is flavorful and meaty. The only thing I have against this place is I always get a stomachache after I eat here. I think it's because the pho is so fatty, but it happens every single time; so I've decided to go on an indefinite break.

I stopped by here with my girlfriend after visiting a church in the area on Sunday. We were literally the only customers in the store during typical lunch hours. The prices were a bit higher than what I've seen in Midtown, but you probably don't have as many options off 249 as you do in the historic Little Saigon.Service was solid, but I got the impression that there were maybe only two people working in there. The lady out front disappeared for large stretches (which made sense considering how empty the place was), but always seemed to be around when we needed something. The pho came out steaming hot with a plate full of sprouts, mint, jalapenos, etc. to dress it up to our liking. I opted for the round eye steak while my girlfriend went for the well done flank and meatballs. We were both satisfied with the meal, but we've definitely had better in the Midtown area.

Excellent food. Been there twice and got a rice porkchop combo as well as the house special pho with everything. Broth is subtle, not overpowering with salt or msg. Meats and all ingredients taste fresh and has good texture unlike some places that you can taste the oldness of the meat and the toughness. The owner instructed me to mix the pho plum sauce with the lemon grass chili oil to use as a side dipping sauce for the beef strips in the pho --- was incredible. Forget siracha folks... Their unique combo sauce is light years ahead. I will include a photo. The pork chop combo was also excellent & juicy. Fish sauce was well mixed. Price and portions are fair. Definitely a repeat restaurant.

I didn't have a chance to snap a photo but I was hungry and I wanted some quick pho. All the other nearby locations were closed but thankfully this location was still open. There is plenty of parking. Easy location to find right on 249. Hence the name "Pho 249" I ordered a large pho dac biet to go xlarge $7.75And I also order a reg pho tai w/ meatball $6.75Total came out to $17 and some change.Already the prices were reasonable. I did call and ordered ahead of time and the owner spoke clear English and had a friendly greeting. He said it would take 10 mins. As soon as I arrived food was ready to go and as soon as I got home there was a large amount of noodles and plenty of meat! The broth was still intensely hot!! That was pretty amazing! Most places would give hardly any meat. Or by the time you get home you would have to re-heat the broth not this place!! Rare steak slices were absolutely fresh!! And I had a handful of beef ball I couldn't even finish. The broth is very good and hearty you can definitely taste the beef broth. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED & Another satisfied customer. The inside was clean! And the owner was very nice I found a new favorite pho restaurant

Stopped in for a quick bite and was surprised. Pho broth was good so I continued my journey and you know what? While it wasn't the best, it also wasn't the worst? Nah, you'll have to determine that. Check it out

We ate here when they first opened and the dishes we had were not great. The owners asked us to come back and try their Bun Bo Hue, so we finally made it back. The service was still very good. It seems like it's still only the husband and wife team working the restaurant. The wife greeted and led us to the table. After handing us menus, she disappeared to the back and we didn't see her again until right before we left. After the wife went back to the kitchen, the husband came out with waters and took our orders. We waited a long while before food was brought out, one bowl at a time. While we were waiting on the food, some customers came in for take-out orders, then went back outside to their vehicles to wait. When their to-go food was ready, the male owner brought their food outside and personally handed it to them in their car- that's pretty awesome service! The Pho noodle soup was still below average, in our opinion. The Bun Thit Nuong bowl was very well presented, looked delicious but grilled meat was still mediocre. The Bun Bo Hue was most flavorful. I was genuinely impressed, as BBH is my all-time fave and I try it at all restaurants. The BBH broth at this eatery is tasty and they had the correct ingredients in terms of the noodles, meat, and pork blood. This restaurant should be named Bun Bo Hue 249, rather than Pho 249. But I get it, Pho is better known, even if it's not this eatery real specialty.
