Such a steal for a 12 course omakase for only $68. The fish was fresh, well-presented and seasoned perfectly. They offer 90min for your booking, but the 12 courses took about an hour, giving you 30min to order more off the menu. We actually came a little early than our omakase reservation to participate in their happy hour menu. Their u-maki set we ordered was absolutely delicious and hefty with toppings. This place is more spacious than other typical omakase places I have been to - which is awesome because it means they accept walk-ins primarily for drinks at the bar, sushi rolls and handrolls (not so much for omakase). The place felt cozy with its moody lighting and wood decor. Loved my experience here, I would love to come back!

We've been here twice now, once for omakase and once for the regular sushi bar, and both times have been fantastic. Each omakase course was delicious and just got better and better. The flavor combinations were perfect to elevate the fish without being overpowering. Pacing was perfect to be able to savor each piece, and we left very satisfied. Absolutely worth it for the price. During our hand roll bar visit we tried a few different individual hand rolls and u maki rolls. Our faves were the scallop and toro. Next time we'd do the sets, we didn't really think it through and ended up spending more money on similar items by ordering individually. Live and learn, still worth it! Service was great and the space feels open and airy. This will definitely be a go-to spot for us.

Overall: $68 for 13 course omakase?? Unheard of! Every piece of sushi was AMAZING and melts in your mouth. Sushi chef took a lot of care into each piece. Truffle and uni were given in generous portions and most fish was sourced from Japan (except salmon) Staff was friendly and attentive. Seating: one side of restaurant was for omakase, the other for hand rolls and a la carte. Tip: 10% off with cash! No longer Byob as they serve cocktails and were priced around $11-13. They also have happy hour!

Came here on a Saturday night with no reservations for one. Of course no seats available for the omakase - sad. Stayed anyway for the sake and hand rolls! Great selection of liquors available, I went with the sake flight. For hand rolls I need combo umaki set B. The sake selection was good, and the hand rolls were very beautiful made, coming one at a time. Ambiance was cozy and quiet. Overall great food for value, and amazing service. I will definitely remember to make a reservation for omakase next time.

12-course sushi omakase for $68 is a really nice deal. Don't expect much fancy fish or other twists, it's just 12 pieces of nigiri made fresh, with some good flavor/texture pairings. The first few pieces are meh, the cut of fish was semi-fallen apart and the taste was nothing special. A bit disappointed they had 2 salmons, and the first one (torched and paired with tomato) really was bland. The uni piece was really good- paired with shiso leaf tempura (crunchy + creamy sweet uni); the scallop with white truffle and toro was also very nice, meaty and flavorful. If you come hungry, you likely need to add on maki rolls, which are ~$23.1.5 hours is definitely enough time, each piece comes out really quick, so got focus on eating not chatting ;-p

3.5 Stars overall experienceFor $68, it's hard to find an omakase that can beat that price. Pros: price, freshness of fish, ability to have "omakase experience" at that price pointCons: service fee, omakase experience I've been to a handful of omakases between Philly and NYC at this point, and here's my takeaway for this one. Again, $68 is an amazing price point and the fish was fresh, toro melted in your mouth great quality - but imo the 2 biggest differences of this experience compared to some of my better ones are:a) no conversation with the chef. A lot of the times, imo you're paying for that special interaction with the chef, a more intimate experience. Other than the chef placing the fish down and saying what the fish was, really no interaction until the end of the meal when he asked how everything wasb) the flavor pairings of some of them were very similar if not the same- as in other than the fish being different - certain courses tasted the same and were not unique other than the different fish; I did watch and it looked like the same soy based product was brushed on a few of the same dishes The other thing I didn't love is that you have to pay a $5 tock fee to make reservations. They refund you your deposit in full, but $5 reservation fee is not avoidable, and on top of that there's a credit car processing fee for 1.5% they also pass onto the customer when you close out. Those little things just rubbed me the wrong way. I also agree with the other reviewer about the texture of the rice. You can see in one of my photos that the rice did not stay together and fell apart as the chef was placing it on my plate. Also just FYI - if you want to order at the handroll bar, you need to physically move your seat to that bar - the omakase seating and handroll are completely different Overall - absolutely an affordable omakase with fresh quality fish - still worth a try for the price point imo

Very good value for a $68 omakase! Everything was super fresh. One of our favorites was the toro nigiri. It was so good that we had to order the u-maki at the end with toro, caviar, and truffle. We ordered another u-maki with wagyu beef, scallop, uni, and ikura. Super delicious, but the toro u-maki definitely topped it. Something that was surprising was the tomato that went on top of the salmon nigiri. I never had something like this but it was very pleasant. We were checked on multiple times throughout the night by the friendly staff. I loved that there wasn't blasting loud music like another omakase I had before, allowing the diners to have a focused experience.

I got the US4 with Waygu beef, uni, scallop, ikura $25 this was soooo goodThe set was a nice snack. If you've already eaten a little it's nice to not take you over the edge.

Had Yuhiro's 12-piece omakase for $68 last night. More economical omakases are popping up in the Philly food scene, and I'm all for it. So far, we've checked out Kichi Omakase in center city for their 15-piece omakase @ $95, and we loved it.Upon checking in with the host, my husband and I were shown to our seats at one of the 2 sushi counters. I really like the swiveling chairs at the counter. This makes getting on and off the seat much easier than pushing off the counter. We were also provided with a menu in front of us, including all 12 sushi pieces we would be eating. Whoever decided on the swiveling chairs and leaving the menu out as a guide was definitely thinking of convenience and comfort from the point of view of the customer.Moving on to the sushi, Yuhiro sets a 90-minute time limit for customers to eat, which is more than enough time to eat 12 pieces of sushi. Kichi Omakase sets a 60-minute time limit, which we had no problem with. With less pieces and more time at Yuhiro, this made our dinner even more relaxed.I have to say we were pretty pleased with our experience at Yuhiro. You're getting fresh quality ingredients like the ebi shrimp, scallop, fatty tuna, blue fin tuna, salmon roe, and truffle. The technique and craftsmanship might not be as precise, but hey, that's why it's $68 and not $250. Beyond the 12 pieces, you'll be charged a la carte for any additional sushi or rolls. The menu provided also lists signature U-maki options that go for $22-25 each and include foie gras, uni, wagyu, etc. I have to say the U-maki rolls were small for $22-25. For $25, I would much rather order 2 more pieces of sushi. The staff were super nice and attentive. We brought our own bottle of wine since Yuhiro is waiting on their liquor license and BYOB for the time being. The staff kept coming by to refill our wine glasses and water glasses. If you're planning on dining at Yuhiro soon, make sure to make a reservation on Tock!

Definitely very affordable for omakase for a great selection. Same owner as Sakana! I was surprised when I saw the owner there. The quality of the fish for it's price was amazing and worth a try. Service can be better from the waitress as my friend and I felt very rushed. The chef was super kind and sweet, but the pacing was way too fast where my friend and I had to slow down ourselves so they would stop serving us one piece a minute. My biggest qualm is the texture and taste of the sushi rice. It was very dry and hard, and the texture resembled brown rice. Hopefully this can be improved for next time!
