Vera's Water Ice

Came here a lot as a kid they have good water ice went here a few weeks ago and it's good as I remember, friendly service as always I highly recommend if you're around definitely gets the edge over other Italian ice businesses in Delco

Cash Only! Went with a Reg Cherry water ice for $2.75. Good flavor but the ice was hard and had big clumps. I prefer my ice to be smooth and easy to scoop out. Wasn't crowded either on a hot day. I like that they also have dipped ice cream. I would go back if I needed a cool treat.

Vera's Water Ice is a small family-owned shaved ice spot located off of Saxer. It's more of a cash-and-carry, as there are only a few stools inside and it's set-up as a small corner shop. They have regular ice cream, but some friends and I came here to grab a cup of the water ice. Flavors included mango, lemon, cherry, straw-kiwi-ban, watermelon, etc.I had a small cup of the strawberry lemonade, and the hubs had the blue raspberry. Between the two, the strawberry lemonade definitely tasted better - it was more strawberry than lemonade, though, so there wasn't much tartness to it. The water ice was definitely syrup-heavy, which I actually like; it was pretty cold and refreshing, too. I just wished I tasted some of the other flavors before deciding!There was only one employee who was running the shop, and he was very friendly and sweet. Seems like a local favorite!There's plenty of street parking around the area, including 15-minute spots.+family-owned water ice spot+few counter stools, but more cash-and-carry

So this place has been here 15 years I'm told, and no one has Yelped it? Let me take care of that. I am a bit of a water ice snob I suppose. I have favorites such as Rosati and Pop's. I tend to turn my nose up at the Rita's of the world. I decided to try this for the first time on the way home from work after driving past it for years. I'd definitely come here over Rita's. The texture is more of what I like. It's not too watery. The orange cream I ordered had a decent enough flavor. I like the options of hand dipped ice cream that could be had. I don't know if I'd put them over Rosati or Pop's in my world. But they're a worthy local choice.

We love Vera's! The water ice is always delicious and their soft serve is amazing! I highly recommend the orange cream- it's my favorite flavor!

Absolutely the worst water ice I've ever eaten. I live close by and have tried to like their product a few different times. Unfortunately always with the same result, displeasure. However, given that it's a local business and wanting it to succeed, I've never written a review, no longer. I just tried it for the last time. For those of you that know water ice, you'll understand when I say that it had chunks of unflavored ice, was too crystallized, had a grainy texture and very little flavor. As regards the soft serve ice cream, equally bad. Mealy texture and overall low quality flavor, as if it was dairy-free.

Came into this local shop today, the girl behind the counter was so sweet. I got a gelati, WAY better than Rita's, flavor and consistency were on point. My bf got cookies and cream ice cream which was excellent as well. Will definitely be back.

Best Mango water ice I've ever had. I don't love soft serve ice cream but my son loved his. Good prices and variety for such a small shop. Will definitely return
