We had our second omakase experience here on a Friday night. The pricing is similar to yuhiro nearby and while this was good we preferred yuhiro. The sushi chefs were all very pleasant and friendly and talked us through each item they served. The flavors were all fine, it just didn't feel like anything that interesting and tasted similar to what you'd get ordering sushi off any menu (a good piece of fish with some wasabi or ginger or soy sauce). None of us were blown away by anything, and at times the flavor of the fish itself was lost to accompanying flavors. I think I also preferred the atmosphere at yuhiro to this, it was more minimal light and open/airy while this spot was cool but a little more...claustrophobic? There was just a lot going on. The pacing was pretty fast without a lot of time between courses. We each got one extra piece at the end and felt mostly satisfied, and drinks were great.

This Sushi by Bou location is in the back of izakywa behind a couple of panels. The bar, the drinks and the food is different at sushi suite than izakywa. I've been to two other by bou locations my review is relative to those. The ambiance is well themed. 80's rap vibes The $65 sushi omakase was disappointing. Quality fish doesn't need seasoning. But almost each piece was seasoned- sometimes overly seasoned. I remember the fish at the other locations as excellent in selection, freshness and taste. The chefs didn't really interact other than to describe each piece- no background info. Because the music was too high we couldn't hear them very well. But the chance to interact w the chef has been part of my experience. The hosts/bar tenders were reasonably friendly. Not overly welcoming but friendly. Drinks were good.

Let me start by saying I was not a sushi person. (Emphasis on 'was') and I mean real sushi (nigiri/sashimi). All that changed at Sushi with Bou. My husband had been wanting to try to omakase for months. For his birthday I made reservations. While there were some scheduling hiccups, the team more than made up for it. Superb customer service, bar-none!The vibe is (a millennial's dream lol) 90s hip hop with hints of Philly throughout. The chefs were engaging and the sushi was delicious. Head sushi chef Mitsutaka explained what made up each bite and I assure you, you can taste every ingredient. The flavors were layered perfectly. The ginger cleansed your palate, the sake enhanced the flavors. We will definitely be back and we'll be bringing some friends!

Sushi Suite felt unconventional compared to the typical Omakase experience. It's more of an Omakase party at Sushi Suite. The dimly lit space, lounge music, and comfy leather barstools made me feel like I was in a cocktail bar instead of a sushi bar, which definitely sets Sushi Suite apart from its competitors. The 17-course Omakase experience was mostly nigiri with a few non-nigiri courses. While I always look forward the most to the scallop, sweet shrimp, uni and fatty tuna nigiri (which ARE included in Sushi Suite's tasting), it's fun to see less commonly served dishes being served. You definitely don't get monkfish liver and baby conger eel at the get-in-get-out Omakase spots. That said, the tasting menu changes frequently due to seasonality and availability. My husband and I enjoyed the tasting menu for the most part. With the exception of one of the cooked dishes, everything else was great. The cocktails were strong and good, too. Chef Mitsu's fun personality also adds to the Sushi Suite experience. He engages in conversation with his guests but is never intrusive. I've never seen such an energetic personality from an Omakase sushi chef. Not only is he energetic, but Chef Mitsu is also very hospitable. He takes the time to explain each course and makes sure everyone is enjoying his food. He even invited us to join him in a round of sake. If you're looking to spice up your Omakase experience, you'll want to check out Sushi Suite.

I had an incredible experience at Sushi Suite and it certainly lived up to my expectations. The tasting menu is true omakase style so you just have to sit back and enjoy the food (show). Every piece of sushi/nigiri was great and the "Sushi Big Mac" at the end stole the show. The ambiance is dimly lit which actually makes for some impressive pictures. Service was great throughout too. It's pricey so be prepared for that but you get what you pay for at Sushi Suite!

What really makes this omakase stand out (other than the quality fish and extreme creativity of every bite) is the fact that it is completely different every time! I have never been to an omakase that changes their offerings so frequently. I was just there a few weeks ago and this was a totally different experience. I must go back!!Also I was in contact with the chef on Instagram prior to the meal, and he asked me if I had any old favorites, any new things I wanted to try, etc. EXCEPTIONAL service all around.

I had an excellent omakase meal here. The service was awesome (my friend asked for a nonalcoholic drink and the waiter remembered this throughout the meal and gave her water instead of saki which was thoughtful). I liked that each dish was explained and everything tasted super fresh!

This was the most incredible Omakasé experience I have ever had. I have had Omakasé in Japan before, but this was by far the most entertaining and memorable. I left very full. I had to ask them to decrease the amount of rice half way through. The conversation was very enjoyable with our two sushi chefs. First time drinking saké out of a wine glass. Very fancy. The ambiance was dark, trendy, and classy. Our sushi chefs not only were artists and chefs, but also entertainers. I wish them the best!

100% recommend to anyone who loves sushi and omakase! Definitely one of the more expensive omakase in Philly, but so worth the price! I love every bite! So many great bites! I wish I could remember what was in each bite, but it was delicious! The uni and fois grad was amazing. The wagyu one was delicious! Honestly, they made me love ebi even more! The scallops was mouthwatering! I could go on and on. Definitely be bad! Both chef Mitsu and Sam were amazing!! They were friendly and open! It was a great atmosphere ! Worth the price! I'm already planning to go back with my other friends!
