I'll cut to the chase. After being told by not a few persons that THIS was the best Philly-style tomato pie going, I tried it. In a word, nowheresville.Good pizza, warm or cold, must have good crust. This stuff was like a cracker crust, not chewy, with no flavor. Plus there was too much of it. The tomato gravy edge was far from the end of the crust. I'm not a politician eating the stuff with a knife and fork! It's pizza. Or supposed to be....Tomato flavor was good, but not superlative. Too salty, and lacking in any discernible herbs. The best "Philly" tomato pie I've ever had was in South Jersey, and I've been able to almost recreate it at home. I'd hoped today's pie would give it and my homemade version a run, but it came nowhere near meeting a minimum standard. I'll look elsewhere for a better version.

Wow -- this incredible bakery has restored my faith in Philadelphia-bred tomato pie! Let's dive in ...Tomato Pie (5/5): Ok so quick story -- I tried tomato pie (from not this bakery) for the first time at a Halloween party in Coatesville and upon eating it was less than impressed; I was left with the thought "where's the cheese?" Well, let me tell you, Marachiano's has restored my faith in this famous Philly-Sicilian dish and wow it's incredible! The bread has this beautiful bottom crust and supple chew throughout. The tomato sauce is rich and pairs beautifully. The side-edge crust is beautifully colored and just hits in all the right spots. We got a half pie and we were shocked at how huge the portion was -- though it didn't stop us from devouring it over the course of an afternoon and evening. Would order this everyday if my waistline wouldn't hate me. Spinach & Cheese Specialty Bread (5/5): We came in wanting to try their other specialty stuffed bread -- the Oreganata -- but they only had tomato left. We opted instead for the stuffed spinach and cheese specialty bread and have zero regrets. This was a take-away and reheat but the instructions were clear and easy. Within 15 minutes we had a beautiful cheesey-pulley masterpiece with perfectly blended spinach, cheese, and seasoning which we cut into one inch bite-size pieces. Highly recommend this as well. TL;DR: Honestly, get anything here and you likely won't be disappointed. Can't wait to be back! Put it on the repeat list!

Finally got a chance to get to this neighborhood staple on a Sunday afternoon! Before moving to Philly I didn't have any neighborhood bakeries like this, so this felt really really good to finally experience. We ordered a tomato pie and 2 bacon egg and cheeses. Apparently the tomato pie was leftover from the night before, but you would never know because it still tasted immensely fresh and delicious. The bacon egg and cheeses were lovely as well. For the 3 items we spend 24 bucks and would do it again. The people were super nice and even though I'm not an Eagles fan, they had the Eagles decorations everywhere which I can respect. I respected the transparency of them letting us know it wasn't a fresh pie (they had already sold out by 12pm, so that should tell you a story of the quality. Also, plan accordingly) and they adjusted the price to reflect that as well. Check this place out!

It doesn't take an educated palate to know when something is good. Marchiano's is the definition of comfort food . I've spent many a summer or day after school ingesting their chicken cheesesteak bread or broccoli/cheese bread. They've delivered every single time in keeping me full. Even more appealing than the quality is the price as most things are quite reasonable.Parking may be a hassle on the Manayunk hills but nothing worthwhile ever came easy. If I were to hand someone a list of top 5 food locations in Manayunk, Marchiano's Bakery would make the list.

Oh my God you have to come here. This is sort of a must if you live and around the Manyunk area of Philadelphia. I passed by this for the last 3 to 4 years and it's one of those places when you see it you point out that you must go in. It is that wonderful local shop environment that is bustling and there's always people inside in line. It is well worth the wait and the difficulty of finding parking to get inside. The downside is parking, it's street parking and it's difficult because it's such a busy street. But once you get in or you do a take-out order, their bread and food item menu is a must to try cannot go wrong with anything on it!

**CASH ONLY; HARD TO FIND PARKING**It's one of the hidden jewels that you'll be amazed at if you haven't tried. If you have been here, you know what I'm talking about! I would bring cash and park in the gravel lot across the street past the railroad and walk down. Fresh Italian baked goods. I honestly haven't had an awful piece of bread from here! I am willing to bet money that you won't be disappointed here!

On the edge of Manayunk sits this little Italian bakery. It's not a bakery in the traditional sense of the word but its specialty items are definitely baked. Marchiano's is known for its rich tomato pies and specialty breads. The specialty breads came from a recipe used in the small southern Italian Calabrian village of Cosenza. They are filled with many tasty items including Philly icons such as scrabble and cheesesteak, But their original specialty bread with a filling of pepperoni and cheese will always be my favorite. I was in Manayunk recently and felt like a Marchiano's specialty bread and fortunately they had my pepperoni and cheese. I took it home for one tasty and filling meal.If you have never been to Marchiano's - go. It has become a Philadelphia tradition. Not only is the shop quaint to look at, everyone who works there is super friendly. Tip - There are special hours during the Covid-19 pandemic which can be found on their Facebook page,

Great local hole-in-the-wall Italian bakery. As stated, parking may be tough. I've never had to stand in line to get in, but the place is always hopping on big game days, especially if the Eagles are playing. The large tomato pie is enormous, but will disappear before your eyes; it's that delicious. It's the perfect combination of chewy crust and sweet and savory sauce. More than a decade ago, it was ranked as "Best of Philly" in Philadelphia Magazine, but it deserves that honor every year. Then there are the stuffed cheese breads: follow the directions for heating at home. Oozing cheese and delectable fillings, they are what you wish the average Stromboli tasted like. Perfection! A local gem and a great value for your money. Long live Marchiano's!

Been going here forever. Really wish they didn't refrigerate/freeze their breads though. Now I can't stop in and grab one for a quick lunch at room temperature. I liked it better the old way where the breads sat in the display. You told them what you wanted and they wrapped them up right in front of you.
