I really love having Food and Friends in the neighborhood and don't know what I would do without it. Since moving, I've already used F&F for everything from speedy wine and beer runs, snacks, all the makings of a bomb charcuterie board, and other essentials for hosting and the like. I don't come here for core groceries (that's not it's purpose) but you can't beat the convenience. I also really appreciate that they are open late! They post deals and bargains on their door and also have a really great selection of asian-inspired snacks and prepackaged grab and go options. Between here and Rittenhouse Market, you COULD 100% get by with everything you need, but just know that you're paying for the convenience and some thing's will have a bit of an upcharge. Go forth and grab your little rat girl treats and other essentials from F&F! Thank you for existing and I look forward to multiple trips in the near future.

I do enjoy F&F for grabbing snacks and certain ingredients when I don't have the opportunity to get to a true grocery store. This said, their produce has been poor in quality lately and I've had to throw items out as soon as i arrive home:1) Twice in a row the cucumbers were slimy and soft2) Twice in a row the arugula was soggy and smelled like it had gone bad3) Once the mini carrots had a slimy coating similar to the cucumbers Will continue to frequent for alcohol. Employees are a highlight - very pleasant.

FOOD AND FRIENDS OWNER CHASED ME DOWN OVER A PACK OF RAMEN THAT WAS UNPAID FOR. He chased me 2 blocks from the store (I didn't know until he was next to me) telling me I stole from the store. I explained I had my hands full while shopping and placed an item in my bag and completely forgot to take it out to pay while checking out. He cussed and insulted me out for about 5 minutes and took my entire lunch bag I paid $40 for from me. he proceeded to tell me he was "posting my photo up on the front door and register because people like you deserve to be as shamed of themselves." even though I explained the honest mistake of my hands being full and apologized. when I told him it was not intentional he "pfftt" at me and told me I thought about it before stealing a product. I am a doctor and do not need to steal a package of ramen. but he stooped that low and chased me two blocks down for it and publicly humiliated me.I shopped at this store 2-3 times a week, I'd never steal from them. but they will never see me again after this.

Great little corner grocery in the neighborhood! Excellent place to grab a quick bottle of wine or six pack (open until 11pm unlike fine wine and spirits) and also has a nice selection of food. Service is friendly and vibes are good. A little bit of a markup price wise, but that's to be expected from an independent store such as this. Very happy this place re-opened after the pandemic !

Don't shop here!! Selling rotten fruit and when it's returned salesperson offers to throw it out for me. Wow.

En la esquina. On the corner, found a well-stocked, small grocery store to stock-up for a few days. A few items were a bit pricier, but we left with enough for happy hour!

Overall: 5Food: 4Service: 5Price: 3.5Atmosphere: 5This grocery/chill spot is a hidden gem in the city. Not sure if there's more places like it but it's a great spot to grab drinks at none bar prices and snacks from their grocery aisle. The store has a wide range and variety of beer from domestic to some foreign. I suggest stopping by to grab a quick case or drinking it there while munching on some snacks.

Fantastic corner store serving the Rittenhouse community. Tons of great selections across produce, snacks and basic necessities. And don't get me started on the wide selection of beers and wines!

I came to Food & Friends while on a weekend vacation in Philly. I was amazed at their extensive beer craft beer selection! I was excited to find some of my favorites from Ithaca Beer that I haven't been able to find elsewhere! They also sold some wine as well. As far as snacks, they had a great variety (once again was surprised to find Ample Hills in the icecream aisle and Sarabeth's jam).Additionally they have ample seating if you need it. Wish I had a bodega with a selection like this near my apartment on New York.

Love the place for a late night grab of anything I crave! Staff is hit or miss. Either ruthlessly rude or super kind. Upscale, pricey, but you pay for the convenience and it is open until 11pm and I am a night owl. Nice wine to choose from...I like the place and happy it is within walking distance! (That said, some staff needs to be trained properly on politeness and proper manners). UPDATE: NO RUDE STAFF NOW, VERY PLEASANT AND AND HELPFUL...SHAME MANAGEMENT NEVER ADDRESSED MY FIRST REVIEW...LOVE this place now :)
