Dan Dan

Food was delicious! We got the homestyle fish, HH dan dan noodles, dry pepper chicken, and cumin lamb noodles. My favorites were the fish and chicken, but everything was flavorful and cooked well. Comparing this to other Sichuan restaurants in the area I do think the dishes are on the milder side so it would be good for people who can't handle spice as well, but I do feel like it was less greasy than other places like Chengdu which I prefer. My personal favorite Sichuan spot is Forever in KOP there's more spice and not too greasy. Since we ordered from the HH menu we were placed in the lounge but were seated in the corner which caused the waiter to forget about us. Service could've been more attentive especially since we primarily ordered on the normal dinner menu.

Worst place for Chinese food!! They are either writing their own reviews or something! There is no way they can get four plus stars. My dinner was beyond awful! Cold with terrible service !

Came here on a Saturday night to pick up to-go. The restaurant was packed when I arrived but they had my order all ready to go so I was in and out. I ordered the Spicy Beef Hand-Ripped Noodles. I have to say, not worth it and was rather unimpressed with this dish. The noodles texture was ok, nothing special. The beef was cooked just fine, I just believe this dish lacked a lot of flavor. I wouldn't order again.I also ordered the Dan Dan Noodles to share as an appetizer. Wow, I wished I had ordered that as my main entree. It came with flour-lo mein, sesame paste, soy sauce, chili oil, minced pork, and scallions. The flavor of this noodle was rich and perfectly flavored. I love the little kick to this dish and definitely reasonably priced. Overall, I find this place ok, wouldn't necessarily go out of my way for but if close by, pretty good spot to have lunch or dinner. My entree and my boyfriend's entree ended not being very great but the Dan Dan noodles is something I'd definitely come back for.

I admit I'm picky when it comes to trying Chinese cuisines. When my dining party wanted to have an impromptu lunch here, I was initially a bit hesitant, but eventually caved. In the end, I'm glad I stopped by!The waiting staff were very friendly, and service was prompt and attentive. I had also just purchased a tub of ice cream from a local farm, and they were very kind letting me borrow the freezer while we dined there.I have to say the food was delicious. There were a lot of Taiwanese dishes, so if you like Chinese food but are looking for more of a Taiwanese spin, this is a good place to try. The menu is in both English and Chinese, so it's helpful having bilingual reading options for the table.As it was a late lunch, it wasn't too crowded. The restaurant has a large, modern interior, so I imagine it can get quite busy during peak hours. I'd look forward to visiting again at night some time!

More like 3.5 stars. Interior design is 5 stars. Food is 4 stars: 3 cup chicken is good as always; Taiwanese minced pork rice with egg is disappointing again--very little flavor and meat, as well as poor presentation. The seasoned egg wasn't done most appropriately. It's my second try of this rice dish, just to confirm my first impress wasn't their best attempt. Service is truly lacking--it's challenging even to get a soda refill; soda is kinda flat too.

This dish was an absolute knockout, with tender fish bathed in a mouthwatering sauce that had just the right balance of sweet, spicy, and savory. This is one of their best dishes; the long hot peppers and leeks are amazing. But wait, there's more! The Sichuan prime rib tips were like bite-sized pieces of heaven, bursting with rich flavors that had me swooning. And of course, who could forget the Dan Dan noodles - different, but rather flavorful, at least to my palate (99.99% Asian). Now, let's talk value. Dan Dan isn't just a feast for your taste buds--it's also friendly to your wallet! With such incredible dishes at such reasonable prices, you'll feel like you've stumbled upon a hidden treasure. The restaurant's commitment to providing high-quality ingredients and unforgettable flavors while keeping things affordable is commendable. I went to Nectar (nearby) and it wasn't as good and twice as expensive!The cherry on top of this spicy Sichuan sundae? The service! The staff at Dan Dan are delightful, whether you sit at the bar or at a table. I haven't liked (my tastes) everything I've ordered but after as many times as I've been here I can say this is one of my top restaurants I enjoy eating at.

Good drinks, even better food. Looks like a good place for happy hour as they looked like they had a full service bar. The wontons in chili oil were a new favorite. A little bit of heat when you get a good portion of the oil in and well filled. The cumin lamb had more of a kick to it. The hand ripped noodles were a good balance of chewy and springy the texture was great. The beef was tender with a great flavor to it. The waitstaff was very friendly and gave their personal suggestions. As someone that likes frozen/fruity drinks I highly recommend the chi chi (pina colada basically)

First time having Chinese food in this area and I was pleasantly surprised. On Tuesdays, it's BYOB btw! Our servers did a great job of checking in on us. Of course, at a Sichuan place, they were packing heat so I wish they refilled our water more and provided tea. I was excited that they also had Taiwanese food and I thought the food and prices were pretty reasonable. They even had duck baos!! I'm definitely going to come back here. We had a big group and had a secluded area off the side close to the bathrooms (not a private room) which was fine (except for when we caught the smoke coming from the bar). We were allowed to stay and chat for awhile even after finishing our meals and paying.

Repeat visit and lucky to negotiate a table on a Saturday night without a reservation thanks to the accommodating staff. Filling food, large portions, and quick service. Looking forward to our next visit.
