They changed the name and made some changes inside. This is not a spot that you sit down to eat but rather a local grab and go spot even though they have about 2-3 tables outside. The food sits out so hopefully it's fresh when you order but they have a variety of things usually available from fish, steak, pernil, chicken, white rice, yellow rice with beans, mofongo, sweet plantains and more just depends on the day and when you come. They have a few desserts such as flan and tres leches cake and they have natural juices like parcha (passion fruit) which is my favorite, lemonade and some others. The food is usually really good so no complaints there but make sure you get everything is there before you go because they have a habit of forgetting to put something in. The price is definitely worth it, you can get rice/ beans, a meat, and salad for like $10 which would feed about two people.

The food is always amazing !!!!! The only issue with yesterday's order, it was less meat than usual. Before the quarantine and shut down, you were able to watch your food being made so you could request extra. Now with curbside service, it's already made when you pull up.

Ordered delivery and it was solid.Chicharron was good, could have been a little more seasoned.Really enjoyed the stewed beef.Good place, would order again.

I went in today to have the namesake- the Chicharron. What a glorious piece of meat. It was perfectly seasoned, juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. It didn't even need lime!! Who am I kidding though, I still put it on there frfr. I had it with the black bean rice which is my fave. If you've never been here please check it out it's so good!! They didn't have cheesecake today but it's alright their other desserts are pretty good too

This is a local mom and pop shop, where you run to when you really can't get home for some good Spanish cooking, but are CRAVING some rice and beans. The price is really cheap as in most Latin restaurants and the food is seasoned really well. I had the pork (lechon/pernil) and kindly asked the lady to lather some of the onions from the yucca and she was happy to comply. We also had arroz con gandules (yellow rice with black eyed peas) and sudao de pollo (chicken stew) which were great. The hubby loves the chicken stew because of the seasoning and because he swears it's healthier than the other fried meats in the place. I wasn't particularly impressed with the rice, it was more on the bland side but not terrible. Overall, it is a great place to come grab a quick bite or something to go. They have one picnic table outside for eating, but other than that take out only. They accept credit cards and parking isn't terrible around here either.

I have been ordering from this place for the past 10 years, so way before all the new renovations and fancy branding. Since the change, their platters are a lot smaller, but I was fine with that and continued to order from them. My family orders the same thing, arroz con gandules y pernil. The last three times I ordered in my pernil container there has been about 70% fat and skin and rest was eatable meat. I sadly am saying I will no longer order from here any longer as I find myself wasting money on stuff I dont eat. The last time I even asked to not put as much skin since I do not eat it and I think i got the woman upset by this request and was given even more skin and fat. They were definitely my go to place when I did not feel like cooking. Not anymore

Don't take this small Spanish take out spot in Juniata lightly; it's definitely worth checking. Whether you're swinging by for a quick lunch or in the mood for good Hispanic comfort food, here's a local spot for you.All your typical Caribbean staples are here, all of which are delicious and super affordable. The servings are ample, so you definitely feel you got more than your money's worth. Although it's mainly a take out spot, there are some limited outdoor seating. Parking can sometimes be a hassle depending on what time of day but for the most part you'll be fine.

I always get chicken stew con yellow rice. I would give them 5stars but every time I come well most of the time the sweet plantains are always gone no matter the time. But food is great

Picked up food for my sisters B day dinner. Got 3 platters and a couple of sides to feed 6 people. We all ate twice and still had left overs! Everyone loved the Arroz con Gandules it was so flavorful. We got 2 platers with Arroz con gandules y pernil and 1 with Arroz blanco , habichuelas y bistec encebollao. Also ordered an order of each of Maduros, guineos con cebollas and chicharon. All this for under $50! Service was on point and with a smile. Place is clean and number system is perfect to keep order and know when it's your turn because it can get busy and chaotic. They expanded and closed off the wait area to have customers out of the elements and be more comfortable while you wait to be served.. Parking can be a challenge but we'll worth it.. I highly recommend this place.

14 dollars a platter will start with that . I asked for Carne guisa what I got was more potatoes then beef cubes. The potatoes were not cooked all the way and neither was the beef cubes....In the past it was a go to spot. But now horrible..save your hard earned money and spend it somewhere where they give a damn about customers and quality.
