I was excited for this meal and I'm so sad to say that it was not very good.I ordered the papaya salad and the Penang curry with tofu. Neither tasted very fresh. The spice level was fine, but my main issue was that both dishes were extremely salty. The curry broth wasn't salty but every vegetable and piece of tofu was, so I was just getting a burst of salt and no other flavor. It's a real shame, because they have a great looking menu. Darn!

Twas a rainy night in Philly and we were looking for a new spot to eat since our fave thai place closed early. I searched thai food on Yelp and this was the closest place that popped up and we went for it. The food waiting time was 30 minutes and we lived 27 minutes away which was perfect. As soon as I walked up to the door, someone greeted me with a big smile and offered me some water while the food was coming out. So nice! The food was packaged REALLY WELL. The crab rangoons were good. They lost their crispness on the way home which was my fault because I made an ice cream stop. Only thing I wish is there were more rangoons. There were 5 pieces , but my usual spot gives 7 for the same price point. The pad thai was solid. Lots of veggies, a good amount of spice, and they didn't skimp on the chicken. I would definitely give them another try if dining in is an option. The place was pretty small, but very vintage and intimate which could make for a chill date night.

I ordered the shrimp ramen soup, crab Rangoon and chicken satay via Yelp/Grubhub. Food was delivered a but late and it was cold. The biggest pet peeve I have is spending $40 on an order and business' fail to Include napkins and utensils. Am I supposed to eat with my hands??? The soup was not that great to be honest but how can you enjoy lukewarm soup? The crab Rangoon was actually very tasty but I'm sure would've been better had they been hot, same for the satay. Some places are good for delivery and some not. I'll have to go and dine in one day.

Best Thai food in Havertown, maybe even the surrounding area, Chaiya Thai offers the intimacy of a small, family owned business coupled with superb Thai dishes. With so many people focused on the increasingly emerging local foodie scene in Havertown, places like Chaiya Thai are frequently overlooked. Located in the Oakmont neighborhood of Havertown, most folks will overlook it with nearby Brick n' Brew and Wawa. Small and family-operated, this is I think a two person operation. You'll be greeted by a charming older woman who runs the business. Inside are a few tidy tables and welcoming traditional decoration. They recently revamped their website for quick and easy online order (the better option than calling, as they are frequently busy and may not pick up right away). If you do decide to visit, there is metered parking along the street and paid parking lot on Darby Road. The food is superb - easily the best in Havertown, and really competitive against any other place in and around the area. My wife and I have tried nearly everything on the menu, but we keep going back to the exact dishes you'd expect - the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles never fail to disappoint, and while foodies may roll their eyes, we are unabashedly fans. I also have a theory that you can tell a quality of Thai place by the quality of the Thai Iced Teas. The teas here are the perfect balance of sweet, milk, and tea flavor with an Instagram-able look. In sum, the food here is excellent and lovingly made to order. You may find a bit of a wait when if you pick up, as your order is finished off when you walk through the door to, ensure it's at its freshest. Your patience will be rewarded and you won't leave hungry.

My husband and I tried this place for take out last week. We ordered the Lo Mein with Chicken, Panang Curry, and Curry Cheese Wontons. I was expecting the Lo Mein to be more saucy, like it typically is at Chinese restaurants. But it was far less saucy and had much more spice; it was really good! I loved the Curry and the Cheese Wontons were a fun new thing I'd never tried. I'm only giving 4 stars because when he went to pick up the food, my husband said it was very dark; he wasn't sure if he was at the right place or if the place was closed. I probably would have been freaked out if it were me alone there at night! So, hopefully they can make it a little more welcoming. But, we will be back!

Chaiya Thai & Asian Fusion has become one of our favorite Thai dining spots. The food is excellent, and the service is outstanding. We started with a veggie Thai coconut soup, which was delicious and set the tone for a nice meal. For our mains, we enjoyed the chicken pad Thai, chicken with red curry sauce, and a vegetarian green curry. The portions were generous, packed with chicken and fresh vegetables, and each dish was delicious.Despite eating to our hearts' content, we had enough leftovers to take home. The service at Chaiya is great as well, and the owner, who is a nice hospitable lady who always makes us feel welcome. We will return again soon. Highly recommended for anyone who loves Thai food and excellent service! We will be ordering food for catering as well, especially the Pad Thai.

My husband and I really enjoyed our first dinner at Chaiya Thai & Asian Fusion restaurant. The Kra Pow (Thai Basil) had a flavorful, spicy sauce with plenty of vegetables and tender pork. Although not as spicy, the Drunken Noodles with chicken was quite tasty. The owner treated us with a complimentary portion of her delicious mango sticky rice dessert. Service was good on this quiet Labor Day weekend evening. We'll come back to this cute restaurant next time we crave good Thai food.
