"Highly recommend! It looked a little sad at 1PM on a Thursday afternoon, there was only one other car in the parking lot. We've seen good reviews so decided to try it out anyways and we're so glad we did. We told the waitress that we'd be splitting our dishes and she brought two extra bowls and two extra plates for each of the dishes. We ordered the barbecue short ribs and the pork curry Ramen. Both dishes were good, it wasn't my favorite Ramen flavor profile, but that's personal preference. The pork in the Ramen was unbelievably delicious; soft and fatty. Absolutely scrumptious. The barbecue short ribs were perfectly done with a wonderful grilled taste of them. my spouse said that this place is his new favorite in the burbs. Check it out!"
"Went here for the first time last Friday, my friends have been here 10 times in the past 3 months and recommended it.The chefs are incredible, every sushi piece melted in my mouth and was so fresh.Their spicy crab salad is awesome and a must-try for apps, along with their pork gyoza which was The service is impeccable too, we had 2 servers and both were just so nice, attentive, and helpful with menu options. The owner Andy comes in nightly and knows so many of the guests, he dropped off a special Toro nigiri app for us on the house, which made this entire experience even more special. Would highly recommended for any celebration, date night or just a night out with friends. Fills up fast on weekends so def make a reservation!"

"First restaurant after landing in Philly. I was starving, placed a huge order after a few of my coworkers joined me. The waitstaff and Servers were very accommodating, we had no reservations and a large group of 10. We were seated in the center of the restaurant. There was lots of food, family style. I can't remember all the items but the standouts were the chicken gyoza and shrimp shumai for appetizers, those were delicious. For entrees some of my favorites were the bento box with teriyaki salmon and fried chicken, so good. We also ordered a few rolls that were tasty, it was an all you can eat sushi menu. I passed on the sweets but I enjoyed a glass of Toki Santury Japanese whiskey. Excellent finish for a great night with friends, food and fun."
"Fuki definitely earns a full 5-star from me for their wonderful service, ambience, and the breathtakingly beautiful presentation of their delicious dishes.A group of us went there for a dinner today, and each of us ordered a variety of their menu items. I opted for a salmon (sake) handroll for a starter and a deluxe sashimi with a side of miso soup for my entree. In the past, I've been burned by many places where "deluxe" dishes were offered but the delivery never fully lived up to the hype.Fuki, on the other hand, executes. And, boy, did they go above and beyond in their presentation. As soon as Maggie (our lovely server) walked out with the dish, we all turned our heads in awe at the sight of the ice mound that was blanketed loosely with fresh pieces of sashimi along with artfully placed decorations. I even thought that the dish was a heavy price-tag special for a different table for a hot second. When it was served in front of me, I felt like a birthday kid. All of the rolls we ordered were also similarly treated with the TLC that you'd expect of a highly prized artwork. Taste-wise, I loved every bite of the hand roll and the sashimi. Since this place offers BYOB, several of us also brought wine and soju to accompany our dining experience. Maggie provided us with superb service even when we had some spills at the table throughout the night. Thanks to her helpful, friendly, and entertaining service, we all had a grand time.I'm amazed that the place wasn't crowded on a Friday night, but I'm selfishly happy that they haven't been discovered by the masses. As for me, Fuki has earned its place as one of my go-to spots for sushi."
"Stopped here for lunch while doing some after-Christmas shopping. I like the location because there are plenty of other food options nearby, so if you're with a group like I was, everyone can get what they want and then meet back at one of the nearby tables.I got the hibachi meal with chicken. There are several protein options to choose from, some of which add a $1 premium. You can also pay slightly more for two proteins instead of one. For my base I went with fried rice, and finally for my dipping sauce I selected their Ginger Sauce. The chicken had nice flavor and was mostly good, save for a couple of pieces that were too hard/chewy. I really liked the stir-fried vegetables that came with the meal, and found that each vegetable was cooked nicely. For example, the broccoli was soft and tender, while the onion and zucchini retained some crunch. Just how I like them. The description for the Ginger Sauce I chose said it went best with seafood, but I still liked it with the chicken. It had a little bite from the ginger along with some sweetness. One disappointing thing about the meal was the fried rice. There was so much of it but I found it to be dry and not very flavorful. I barely ate any of it.The hibachi meal also comes with miso soup, which is a nice touch. I just wish it had more miso flavor.Service was good and and everyone behind the counter seemed to really be hustling because the place was packed on my visit."
"I recommend this place! While I wish the broth was richer, it was still good. They offer a student discount if you show your ID, regardless of the school you go to. Nice spacious indoor seating. Nice people. Will be coming back again soon!"
"When we're on Drexel's campus we have to have some Ramon noodles. The students are just returning from Christmas break do the restaurant was not busy.We were seated as soon as we arrived at a nice table. Servers were all very attentive. We ordered the suggested Ramon dishes. Don't forget to add the marinated soft boiled egg. Save room for desert the green tea ice cream is worth saving room for. The best part is the cost . With green tea s Ramon bowl and desert we spent about $20 per person"
"Been coming here for lunch special recently -- pretty great! I'm trying all the lunch special options and so far the ramen has been the most delicious and best value IMO.Large space and the workers are attentive and active but still chill as I hang out on my computer. There probably was a misunderstanding today with me being seated by one waitress and then another thinking I sat myself down but overall they've been mostly cordial and good experiences. As of now, still plan to continue to come for the lunch special."
"We came here in a rush as we needed to get to an event quickly. Thankfully the service was very quick. We ordered Rayaki fries for appetizers! This was so good, it tastes like animal fries from In-n-out, but better :) For the main course we had Pork Bao Downs, Spicy Miso Ramen and Salmon ramen! I liked the broth which was very flavorful and the presentation of the dishes. The meat and salmon were a bit more cooked than we would have liked. In spite of this we enjoyed the dish. My baby devoured the miso and chomped down some salmon as well. As for the ambiance, this place was unique. There is Japanese Anime all over the walls. I have never seen this before. You can also purchase art or the characters. So it's kind of an immersive experience :)"
"My husband and I love this spot for dinner. We have been multiple times and always look forward to dinner here. They have so many options regardless of your dietary restrictions. Even when they are packed their service is impeccable. It is also a BYOB which is an added bonus. This place is a hidden gem."
"I tried the crispy pork bao buns, mango bubble milk tea, chicken cutlet curry with jasmine rice and vanilla mille crepe cake. I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and how good the food was. To be honest, I feel I could have skipped NYC's Japan Fes this year and simply ordered from Momoka instead. The chicken was light and crispy. The curry was a nice consistency and had a good flavor/texture. My only thing is I would have taken some spice as I prefer a spicy curry but it was still great bc it was kid friendly. My kids liked it too. The bubble tea was delicious and had a nice mango flavor. Last but not least is the crepe cake. Delicate but rich with a nice vanilla flavor. I would definately order again! If you're looking for a little something different for dinner, give Momoka a try! The hostess was very warm and the restaurant inside was inviting if you prefer sit down rather then take out."

AMAZING! So it popped up near us and I love Ramen so I'm like I need to try this. Pulled up and there was no one in the parking lot, so I was shook. But thankful that I stayed. Everything was amazing, the pork gyoza was fresh, and I ordered the spicy curry ramen with the pork and a side of white rice. Totally blown away. The service was great, and everything came out timely. The food wasn't overly HOT but just right so that you could go ham on it all. The ambiance is great as well. The setup is beautiful from the lights to the tables and chairs. They took their time to design a very warm welcoming ramen spot. And the menu was also impressive. Two pages lol, for me it shows they are skilled and great and what's on there and have no need to go overboard with other offerings that may not be wanted. Will be returning for sure!

I'd always wanted to try vegetarian sushi, so when a friend suggested meeting for dinner at Tomo, I jumped at the chance... and it was delicious!First, I arrived at 4p for an early reservation, but my friend got caught at work and wound up an hour late. I'm sure the staff wasn't thrilled that we were there so long, but they never pressured me or rushed us. I really appreciated that they were kind and gracious throughout our visit. Now, for the sushi --- we loved all of the rolls we tried from their extensive list of vegetarian (and non vegetarian) options. The Harvest was my favorite, which had mushrooms and sweet potato with a bit of coconut. The Vegan Red Dragon was also delicious --- the vegan tuna was flavorful and had a great texture, and the eggplant "eel" was yummy too. We also got the Midori roll stuffed with picked vegetables that I enjoyed. The restaurant is BYOB and is fairly small, so plan accordingly!

The food is delicious, and the service was awesome. The young ladies were very nice. The music was so soft that you could fall asleep if you're alone. I will be back and bring the family. And my Biss told me about this restaurant.

Ordered the 2 meat hibachi meal. You get a lot of food for your money. Steak was good, miso soup was good, chicken was alright, rice was alright, vegetables not good. Orange green tea is tasty but not worth $5 in retrospect. This place has good boba tea too. Food is about average, B- at best.

My husband was craving chicken Katsura curry, and I found this restaurant in West Chester in Yelp with it on the menu. Neither of us have had ramen before, which is surprising because we love all types of food. Decided to give it a try.Pretty big place with a lot of seating snd it was pretty busy. By the time we left (dinner time) it was packed, which is a good sign. Friendly server and she was prompt. We both went with the mini combo that included a small shoyu ramen and chicken Katsura curry. Ordered bbq ribs for appetizer so we could try a little of everything. You get a lot of good for your money!Shoyu Raman was good! It had some large pieces of pork, noodles, bamboo, mushrooms, flavorful broth. I added some chili oil.Chicken in the chicken katsu curry was awesome. Crunch light exterior, moist chicken, the curry sauce was great. Exactly what we both were looking for.The ribs were just ok. A little chewy. I'd probably skip this and try the chicken bbq bao bun next time.Great experience. Will definitely come back.

I used to go to the Ramen Bar on 40th & Locust when I lived in West Philly, but I prefer this new location because it's closer to Drexel campus and less crowded. The two locations share the same menu and I can't tell any differences in food quality.Ramen is the star here, not the best in town but pretty decent. Besides traditional types of broth (pork bone, shoyu, miso, etc.), they offer a couple of interesting Asian fusion broth choices (curry, tom yum, etc.) for their ramen, although their broth is slightly too salty to my taste. I also like a few of their special appetizers, such as takoyaki and agedashi tofu. I've ordered takeouts from here as well, they don't offer ramen takeout because noodles don't travel (call or order through Carviar).I haven't tried their sushi menu because I personally think it may not be their strong suit by quickly checking out the fish at the sushi bar. They do have a sushi menu here if you feel like sushi, sashimi, or rolls. The price is slightly on the expensive side for ramen but it is justifiable for the location and great service. Happy Hour rates are nice (weekdays 4:30pm-6:30pm) and the place is not crowded. It's really a convenient place to grab some Japanese staples near Drexel campus. It's a solid 3.5-star establishment and I feel it's okay to round it up for now.[This review is part of my West Philly memories]

Came here on a Friday night with a friend, and I was actually confused where the door was because it was all glass and I didn't know where the handle was. Long behold there was a small door on the side that you could open. ( I was standing there looking confused and dumb lol)Anyways first time here since I'm visiting and they only accept cash on weekends (Friday, sat, sun) so make sure you bring cash or use the ATM machine they have inside. The food came out quick and we were sat down fast, I had a mixed drink and I got the miso ramen. We also shared Takoyaki as an appetizer as well. Food was good, broth was good light and flavorful and noodles were too my liking, not too hard, not to soft. They play literally music in here kinda loud, I felt like I lowkey was at the club lol.My only complaint was that we didn't have a lot of cash on us so we ended tipping the waitress with whatever left cash we had (which was 8$) and right when we got our check back she was explaining that minimum tipping is mandatory and that we needed to tip, I literally apologize and said I didn't have anymore cash on me and I wasn't going to use the atm to get money to tip, so she said she can take Apple Pay or Venmo. I literally thought to myself "is this a Philly thing?" And then I said it out Loud and she looked at me and I was like wtf I've never heard of something like this, she walked away and was prob talking shit but she came back and said "if it's too inconvenient for you then you don't have to" so then I was like what was the point of giving me your Venmo then. So then I got up and was like okay what ever byeeeeeee LOL. Idk if I'll be back because that literally ruined my mood. Like girl you checked on me maybe 1 time and you didn't even refill my glass of water.

"For people like me (always hot) Ramen soup during a heat wave is not a great idea. I chose this restaurant because they serve alcohol and they have a sushi menu. The staff members are all really nice and they were working their butts off! The sushi was fresh and the spicy soup flavorful...Unfortunately the AC wasn't working that well, they were understaffed, and the sushi menu and the bar menu did not have a good variety of options. I tried to order a vodka with pineapple juice on the rocks. They were either out of pineapple juice or they don't stock pineapple juice on their bar menu. Signature cocktails are great but sometimes you just want 2 ingredients :)I love sushi and was really there for sushi. I found the menu to be disappointing but everything was fresh. If you love giant bowls of steamy, hot noodle soup go there."
"This tiny little place is new to the neighborhood and brings delicious Japanese cuisine to Philly. If you are looking for tasty Philly rolls in Philly at a reasonable price point, Uni is your place!"
"Located where Ramen Bar was originally. The miso ramen here was a complete miss with barely any flavor. The kani salad had way too much cucumber and mayo.Other than that, the location was clean and the servers were friendly."
"I'm not the biggest fan of Asian cuisine. It's nice once in a while, but it is not my go-to meal. I went into Mari Mari as part of a food tour. Otherwise, I would have passed by without a second look. The tofu bowl is delicious. With a variety of toppings to choose from, anyone can find one to fit their taste.Though the restaurant itself is small, the menu is mighty, and the service is excellent. If you are looking for something different, I highly recommend Mari Mari."
"We ate at Ginza on a weekday at lunch time- they weren't busy at this time - service was great and food came quickly. I absolutely loved the angry dragon roll - perfect amount of crunch with the tempura shrimp. The rainbow roll was also delicious, as was the more basic California roll. The miso ramen was tasty and filling. Overall, a great lunch experience and I'm sure would be great for dinner."
"this place is sitting at a 4.5 rating from the community as I write this review and I agree with that. wish I could rate half stars. my char siu or whatever it was called on the menu (I just asked for pork ramen) was pretty good. Not a ton of different flavors and was a lil salty but it was good, was a decent price, and I would order again. the noodles also weren't soggy and im weird about that so that was a big plus for me lol. service was decent I think there were only a couple people working in there. ambiance also left a little to be desired but they're working with what they have so that's not a big deal for me. overall my expectations were met. nothing was amaaaazing but nothing about our experience was subpar. Also let me not forget, it was clean in there. that matters more than the food tasting good matters lolside note I enjoyed the way the corn was cut. my dinner partner said that's the tiktok style. I had never had it but it was an enjoyable and convenient way to eat corn. they need to add emojis to yelp *thumbs up*"
"Great place to get Japanese food! They serve teriyaki and noodle dishes, along with soup and fried rice. The inside is kind of small, but it seems like more of a take-out place anyway. Prices are reasonable. The wait staff is friendly and there's plenty of parking available."
"Was able to stop in for their grand opening to try the self serve build your own hot pot. Dozens of fresh ingredients to choose from with many types of noodles, large variety of vegetables, fish balls, meat slices, and other assorted items. Build your own hot pot all you do is pick the broth base at the end: original mala (spicy), mushroom, or tomato. Start by picking up a bowl and tongs, fill with everything you want at the self serve area, and then go to the counter to choose your broth base. You pay and get a number, then sit down and wait for it to cook up until they call you. Price is $13.99/lb for everything, and they also have some drinks to buy as well. There is a separate area to build your own spices cup with chilis and oils. Overall it is very good concept and everything fresh and tasty! Glad the chain opened a spot in Philly. Thanks"
"We ordered two special rolls ; spicy girls and phoenix roll and seafood udonSpicy girl was nothing spicy at all Seafood udon was like blended miso soup Visual was ok butOverall, food was lack of taste"
"Best ramen place in Fishtown for sure. I went here on a date and really enjoyed the slow-cooked pork broth and the slight bite to the noodles. The chashu and marinated egg didn't disappoint either.Hajimaru also sells mini rice bowls as an add-on order to the ramen for only $4. If I had more room in my stomach, I would've tried it. They also had plenty of sushi rolls for people who don't want ramen or curry. The interior had an izakaya vibe to it with the wooden tables, walls, and plaques in the back. Service was prompt with orders, no complaints."
"We popped in when it began to downpour on our way to Penn's Landing. What a nice little spot. It's small but quite nice inside. They had a few tables for inside dining and a killer to go business going on. All our rolls were super fresh. They had some more unusual menu items so that was fun too. I would definitely recommend this place and go back if ever in the area. The only not fun detail was the QR code menu. We should have asked for a paper one. It's WAY too hard to choose sushi from an online menu where you have to click each item to see the description and then try to remember what you want."
"Ronan will feel like you are at cheers. They know your name personally I like the grilled teriyaki but if you were sushi, I understand that it is the best around."
"Have ordered takeaway a few times and it has been great. The ramen for takeaway is packaged in a separate container where the broth is separated from the noodles and other ingredients so that they do not become mushy. The char su pork is delicious and melts in your mouth. The ramen noodles have a little bounce and chew to them. Highly recommended in cold weather or if you are feeling a bit under the weather."
"Solid Ramen! First time here. Thought I'd get something for dinner . Had the Katsu pork. All packed up nicely to reheat hours later. ( broth packed separately) Good service. It was really yummy on a cold day. . Excellent noodles! The only down side it was a little bit pricy. $18 with a $4 tip. But I'll be back. The broth was rich and spicy."
"When I have out of towners come to visit that say they want ramen but I know they don't want to wait for the hyped-places in lines or play the reservation game, I take them to Megumi. The food is fine and the environment is chill! Cute decor with anime posters and often playing Jpop or Kpop. It's great for a chill night to hang with your friends and grab a quick bite. Their appetizers and non-ramen items are kinda meh to me but not terribly if you want to share something with friends for variety!"
"So on my pandemic-2020 journey through the West Philadelphia restaurant scene for takeout dinner, I discovered a new favorite this past Friday. Now, granted, I'm not a connoisseur of poke, (yet), but the bowl I had for dinner from Hayashi Sushi and Poke was abnormally delicious for what was really just a bowl of seasoned and sauced vegetables and fish. My partner, who got a vegetarian version of such a bowl, was also quite impressed, so an excellent choice for stricter vegetarians as well.I was looking for a dinner option that would be on the lighter side and inclusive of by fresh, raw vegetables. You would automatically think "salad" but I HATE getting salads as my main meal, so I wanted something more substantial. Yelp to the rescue - the reviews for HSP looked promising, and after my first ever poke bowl in LA last winter, I was curious to try more.So glad I did. I did a custom poke bowl, and while I won't go into detail about all the options you get, the standouts were definitely the zucchini noodles and the spicy tuna. I think if I got just a bowl of those "zoodles" and fish, that would have made me perfectly happy on its own. Well, keep the edamame too - I really like edamame. My partner got fried tofu as his protein and white rice as his base. We were both surprised by how filling the seemingly small bowls ended up being. The awesome miso soup (which automatically comes with poke bowls) probably helped with that. Miso soup is another thing I'm relatively new to - I told my partner THIS IS SO GOOD, and his response was, well, yes, but also pretty standard for miso soup, which is always good. It's such a win when trying new foods and styles of cooking and your early attempts happen to be at a fantastic spot. Excited to come back for more delicious poke, and to explore more of the menu too!"
"Dined in today for lunch. I'm more if a to-go person but they offer BOGO if you dine in. I got shrimp tempura and shrimp and cucumber. Both were pretty good and the prices were perfect! I just wished that a California roll was included in the BOGO, I'm not too experienced in all types of sushi."
"Good food. I had the Hakata Tonkotsu Black Ramen. Kind of spicy so if you don't like spicy probably eat to find another dish. They had a nice little outdoor section set up because of COVID. Great flavor for the food. I'd recommend this place if you are looking for some good ramen."
"The sushi was respectable although the sashimi seemed a bit soft. King crab roll was delicious. The sushi in this tray was so so. Nothing wrong with it but no real standouts. Maybe an option that costs more but has some things like eel and maybe even another special roll or two cut up without having to special order might be nice. Salad and dressing were on-point. Shumai was what I could get at the grocery store from frozen as it was part of the bento box. Staff was super friendly and made me feel welcome to dine in another time if I could. Environment is a relatively small, cozy, appropriately themed place for a sushi venue. Nice sushi place for the area."
"I'm typically skeptical of restaurants that claim to specialize in both sushi and some other type of cuisine. I have to admit though that Otaka was pleasantly surprising. I had the Ichi Spicy Ramen and it was fantastic. The noodles had just the right amount of firmness, the broth was flavorful but not overly salty, and the pork was tender and tasty. I also had an eel and avocado roll because I had to know if Otaka could truly be good at both sushi and ramen. Turns out they are! The service was also great. Very helpful and people seemed genuinely happy to be there. I'm so glad they decided to open in Newtown Square. I'm definitely looking forward to going back."
"This place is an institution. I've been to the Chinatown location many, many times over the years, and it has always been a reliable place for great ramen in Philly. I would typically get their signature Terakawa Ramen, sometimes with wavy noodles.I've since tried other items on the menu and would say that my other go-to dishes are the Karaage Chicken Curry (or simply just the Karaage Chicken appetizer), especially at this University City location. The service is okay - it's a pretty casual spot."
"New Banh Mi and Vietnamese eats shack on East Passyunk! We're so excited to welcome MoonNight onto East Passyunk! Looking forward to trying out the Vietnamese entrees that are on the menu!As for what I ordered when I went, we got 2 of the lunch specials with BBQ Chicken Banh Mi, Lychee Tea, Green Forest Sunset Tea, Egg Pudding, and Taro Pudding. The BBQ Chicken Bahn Mi was phenomenal! The chicken really tasted like it came straight off a barbeque grill. It was such a pleasant taste, and the chicken was quite juicy. The Lychee Tea was good! It's Lychee flavor is a bit subtle but personally I thought it was still enjoyable and good to go alongside a Banh Mi.The Green Forest Sunset Tea was okay, I personally didn't like that the seeds were still in the drink, it gave an unpleasant mouth feel and crunch. It was a bit too sour for my taste. The mango jelly in both drinks though tasted amazing! It reminded me of those mango jelly lychee cups I used to eat in the plastic tubs growing up!The Egg Pudding was hands down the best way to end this meal! The flavors were so complex and tasted amazing. There's a bit of a caramelized taste from the liquid and a light coffee taste as well. The Egg Pudding itself wasn't overly sweet and tasted like a very solid Egg Pudding. The Taro Pudding tasted good. Very light Taro taste, but more like a powdered Taro taste. I'm not a huge fan of Taro, so I feel like I can't really comment on the quality of the Taro taste, but as someone who isn't a fan of Taro it tasted good.I'd definitely come back here again to try out the other items on their menu, or honestly just to grab another lunch special!"
"Food was so customizable and DELICIOUS. Inside was welcoming, warm with cool decor. Service was quick and the staff here are so kind !!"
