Parked right on that little cement island on 16th and Broadway is the Philadelphia Filly. I have walked by this cheese steak truck about a zillion times and every time I think, I should go there for lunch next time! Finally, after months I did just that! You can get your cheese steak any way you want (onions, mushrooms, peppers, etc....). It is basically $6 for a basic cheese steak plus .25 extra for all their many toppings. The sandwich itself isn't big. In fact it is maybe a 6 inch (ish) sub size. Still, even though I think it is a little on the small side it makes up for it by packing in the flavor. The bread is a chewy soft roll and the meat is perfectly cooked with the cheese and onions oozing within the chopped slices. It is perfect street food. The couple running it are really friendly too. They make the ordering process quick and easy! Its a good stop if you need a quick fill up of meat and cheese. I won't be passing it up again!

Sally and Dean are KILLING it out there! These sandwiches are great! I recommend a Philly cheesesteak with everything on it and add jalapeños and bacon. It's about $10 per sandwich and you will NOT disappointed. They're around February through November! Get one NOW

We used to eat at the Downing and Alameda location in the 90s, then they were gone. We heard through the grapevine they had a food cart somewhere on the 16th Street Mall but we weren't sure where. I see them now and plan to make a pilgrimage there in the near future. Simply the best cheesesteak in Denver bar none! I don't want peppers on mine, just onion and mushrooms and they know how to do it. I'll be the guy in the 49ers t-shirt.

Pretty good cheesesteak...definitely better than Snarfs and Subway which are pretty much your alternatives for a cheesesteak in the area. Located right near the Civic Center and super convenient to get to on the16th street mall shuttle. The couple the owns and runs it are super sweet. Very basic menu, I wish the my offered more size and cheese options. The offer a 6 inch sub and the only cheese option is American. The bread is a tad softer than I like, but it's not a deal breaker by any means. Everything is very fresh and your sandwich will be made to order. $1 on top of your sandwich price will get you chips and a drink, so a really good deal on the combo. Overall I would come back if I was in the area and had to walk to lunch. But, I would definitely pick Denver Teds or Large Marg's over this place if given the choice.

Executive summary: Exemplary food and service. If you are a fan of small independent business, this is a role model.Tried this little stand out on a trip to Denver. The day was chilly but the husband and wife who run this stand were bright and sunny. They were charming and personable and it was fun to chat with them about cheesesteaks. The cheesesteak itself was amazing. The roll was soft and tasted fresh. It held up to the weight of the sandwich all the way through. The meat was rich, thinly sliced, well-seasoned, and had fantastic flavor. The cheese was creamy and had great flavor too. I ordered mine with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Really enjoyed this experience. The food was not overfilling and the enthusiasm they showed was refreshing and delightful. I'm eating there again before I head home.

Holy cow, I had a Friday turn dreadful and wanted something hot and cheesey. I was wondering the mall and found this gem. The owners were friendly and nice and the sandwich was tops. It may be considered a small cheesesteak, but it is a quarter pound of beef and it filled me for lunch. The meat had great flavor and it was great. -

Nothing bad to say about the place, they just weren't at the address when I went there well before the closing time posted. In town on business and missed their delicious subs so I thought come back and try them again.
