Parkside Restaurant - Wendell

Brand new. Come try. Really great bar. Great menu. Lots of TVs. Getting the nachos today. . Great staff

I was looking forward to my brunch at Parkside in Wendell as the Raleigh location is great. The building is new and parking is easier at Wendell Falls than Raleigh. I was tempted to go with the short rib benedict again but thought I should try something new and went with the prime rib scramble bowl as I liked the combination of eggs; prime rib; tater tots; and cheddar cheese. I did request no onions but this dish had onions. Maybe it couldn't be done without but I could have been informed.My first bite was of luke warm mushrooms. It seemed that part of the dish was hot but the rest wasn't. I'm not sure if it sat out too long before being delivered or if it just wasn't cooked long enough.The others I was with didn't finish their meals either. The restaurant was pretty empty while we were there so I am not sure if others already decided that this restaurant is lacking. I do not see myself making a return trip here.

First time trying this location. Our server Haley was very friendly. Ordered a cheeseburger, it was very good quality. It is big. Nice clean facility.

Our first time eating here and the restaurant is very clean and bright. It was kinda empty which was a red flag walking in on a Friday evening but we gave it a shot. The service was very good, the waitress was very attentive and check on us frequently. The next red flag was the lemons that came with our water, they were brown around the edges like they had been cut way earlier in the day and they were trying to just use them up. The food was just okay at best. It looked way better than it actually tasted. My wife had the BLT sandwich and she thought it was fine but honestly it's kinda hard to mess that up. I had the fish and chips because it was on special but it wasn't that special. The fries were under cooked and the breading on the fish fell off the fish way too easily and the fish kinda crumbled apart. I also got a side Caesar salad which was pretty good but overall I wasn't that impressed and we will probably not go back.

We really love the Raleigh location and was looking for the same experience. Brand new restaurant, so clean and nice ambience but no sound deadening. The night we were there was so loud that it was more like a club than casual restaurant. We shared a stroganoff since it is our favorite entree from the Raleigh location. The dish was over cooked, mushy noodles and the beef was completely shredded instead of the nice chunks we come to expect. Service was good, no issues.

Beautiful day and a wonderful spot for lunch. We ate outside in the shade facing the courtyard. The inside of the restaurant looks nice as well. Food was outstanding! Everything was so fresh from the sourdough bread to the vegetables to the fries. We will definitely be back!

This is my favorite spot to eat in Wendell Falls. The whole menu is comfort food, that is well executed.

Decent food and decent portion sizes for the price. New spot in Wendell (Wendell Falls). I had the fish and chips ($18), and the fries were enough for the table. Great server. I thought it was more like a diner in person instead of all the upscale pictures I'd seen online, since food is $12 and up (more up). But again, everything is pricier these days. I'd return if someone wanted to meet up here.

My husband and I went to Parkside Restaurant last weekend (Oct 2024). I ordered a prime rib burger and Tator tots. My first order: I could not eat the Tator tots as they were EXTREMELY salty and inedible, also I asked for a medium rare burger and the burger was well done. I explained to the waitress, and she very politely took the plate back to replace the Tator tots and redo the burger to medium rare. My second redone order: The hostess came to the table with a bowl of Tator tots and said she asked that the chef not add any salt, they were better but did have salt on them. About 4 mins later the waitress came with a lukewarm burger, when I cut into the burger it was raw. I sent that back also. The waitress asked if I would like anything else, but I declined because if the cook could not get it right the second time, I was leery about anything else. The hostess came over and said that she had seen the burger and was very sorry and informed me that she deleted my meal from our tab. No food and not a good experience. Be aware!

Unfortunately, not impressed. Our takeout order was missing items. We ordered three different entrees and none were finished. One entree was under cooked chicken. The food was not good so we won't be going back.
