Ocean Da Nang Quan

Upon walking into this really colorful restaurant m, the only customer that was in there before us ordered the bun Bo hue served in the stone pot. I had to ask if he was enjoying it and he had smiles. That's really the specialty of this restaurant is the pho and bún bò Huế served in the stone pot. We ordered both and a sugar cane drink. So how is that different that it's served in something piping hot vs a bowl. It definitely was boiling the soup and that's all that was in the stone pot was soup. You need to add the noodles, proteins and veggies and garnishes in. I guess it allows you to control like the rare beef steak to be a bit more rare and eat it at your own pace and the noodles so that it's not over cooked.The portion doesn't seem much but it's was a decent amount of food for what it was. I would say it was definitely good. The sugar cane drink was good too. Why 4 stars? I would've liked more variety in the menu that represents Đà Nẵng than these 2 dishes served this way. Maybe it's just me but I would come back just to try other things even though they aren't too different than what other restaurants serve.

First coming into this restaurant it was dirty! I ordered Mi Quang and combo plate for appetizer (bánh lọc là, nam, béo...) food and flavor is not goood, old smelly scent. Banh béo was uncooked! In Vietnamese cuisine, there's a lot of fish sauce.... But you shouldn't be smelling the fishy odors when the fish sauce is not under your nose! The sauces on the table spilled over, unclean and bubbling up! I go so grossed out that I hesitated to use the sauces. But I had to bc the food was lacking of flavor. There was a bug in my mi Quang this is poor management... how do you run a business like this...

It's a hidden gem of Vietnamese food in Houston. They have a diverse selection of food with affordable prices. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is decorated well.

Came here on a Friday night, and it wasn't crowded at all. Staff was very nice. We tried the bun bo hue in the stone pot... and it did not disappoint!!! This ranks in my top two favorite bun bo hue dishes in Houston! The flavor was just right! I liked that it had the pork hock and blood cubes and more! The broth stayed piping hot for the whole meal. Supposedly, they don't use msg. I also liked that there was an option for thin vs thick rice noodles. The noodles were the perfect texture as well. Highly recommend the bun bo hue here! Will definitely be back!

Ngoài bún bò thì tiệm có bán: mì Quảng, cơm gà Hội An, cơm gà lên mâm, bánh tráng cuốn thịt heo, xí quách... lại ngạc nhiên với món mì Quảng ếch, tui ghiền món mì Quảng nhưng lần đầu tiên thấy món mì Quảng nấu với ếch... để hôm sau sẽ ăn thử. Hai tô bún trong tô bằng đá, một cách giữ nhiệt cho món ăn. Phần bún với rau bỏ riêng ra, ai muốn ăn bao nhiêu thì bỏ vào tô. This place is so underrated! We love cooking here for our central viet cravings . Their bbh is steaming hot. I would try a little of everything. You cannot go wrong. Pricings are all reasonable. Parking are all in a plaza. Service is exceptional as well.

We came in during lunch on Saturday with 15 people and were able to get a seat within less than 30 minutes. The staff was great. Service was really good. Ambiance was cute with lateens overhead. The owner put effort into the decor. Food was a 3/5 star. I wanted to love it because it has all of my fave Viet regional food. But the broth in the bun Bo was meh. Pho broth was ok. Probably the best dish. Got mi Quãng (shrimp and chicken variety) and it was not good. The noodle was very mushy and broke apart. The ong choy chicken salad dressing was way too sweet. For the price, I would give it 4 stars for $9 menu.

Ocean Da Nang Quan may not look like much from the outside, but once you step through the doors to this restaurant you will be captivated by the colorful paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling and the smell of traditional Vietnamese food being prepared in the kitchen.Tucked away in a shopping center in Bellaire, Ocean Da Nang Quan serves traditional Vietnamese food including banh nam and noodle soups served with fresh vegetables.The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, and, unfortunately, the restaurant appeared understaffed. Our server seemed over-worked and very stressed out. Despite our server not being in a good mood, the service was fast. We were seated right away, drinks came out quickly, and our food was not far behind.My partner (who was born in Vietnam) had nothing but good things to say about our experience. He thoroughly enjoyed every dish that we ordered, and he claimed that this was the most authentic Viet culinary experience he has had in Houston outside of his mother's kitchen!As someone who is much less familiar with traditional Vietnamese cuisine, I enjoyed certain dishes more than others. The appetizer - banh nam - was not my favorite. It was very fragrant as it was prepared in a banana leaf but otherwise had little real flavor of its own. Also, the consistency is very mushy, almost like a Vietnamese tamale. My entree, however, was delicious! I ordered the Mi Quàng Ga - a noodle soup with turmeric chicken. This dish was filling, flavorful, and topped with crunchy peanuts which complimented the flavors of the chicken and noodles well. Avoid wearing white if you plan to order this dish as the turmeric will stain your clothing! My partner ordered the Ocean beef noodle soup and sang its praises throughout the whole meal.Our drinks were also very tasty. I ordered the Coconut Kumquat Dua Tac. At first, I felt the coconut really overpowered the taste of the drink; however, as I continued to drink it, the flavors started to blend well.Overall, this was a great dining experience! I will definitely go back to Ocean Da Nang Quan.Side note: ALLERGY WARNING! Many traditional Vietnamese dishes are prepared with peanuts. The restaurant even has warning signs posted.

We went here for the first time and the dishes are delicious. I ordered the Ocean BBH dish and the broth was real good , they give plenty of meats and the noodle & the fixing lettuce come on the side . Very good. We also ordered the Banh Bot Loc, was good although the nuoc Cham need to be work on a bit . We also ordered Banh Trang Cuon Thit heo quay, which was very good .Overall they have lots of other dishes , we will come back and try again .

Awesome food. Great service and new promotion. $9 menu. Where else can you find food this good for this price??? Best bun Bo I've had in bellaire.
