North Italia isn't bad by far, however the facility, food and service were all as expected. Nothing really stood out and all was overall pretty good. Considering the pricing, it better be. Seating was a bit too tight for me as the neighbors are within earshot. We had a table of 4 and were serviced right away. Got the prosciutto and bruschetta for a premium price of 4 pieces. The rest of the table eventually ordered the foods, I got the seasonal salad, wife got the squid ink pasta and our buddy got the pizza. While the food wasn't exactly mind-blowing, all were relatively delicious. Each entree was ~$20+, in my book for a fine-casual food, I suppose its acceptable. However its still pricy in my book. For corporate italian food, North Italia is rather decent. However I just wasn't impressed, but rather my expectations were met. Just A-Ok

Located in Memorial City, on the south side opposite the movie theater. They got outdoor and indoors seating and parking is available streetside (paid) and in the garage (free). It's usually a basic girl happy hour spot; we decided to come for lunch instead. Ambiance is the upscale casual Italian vibe that's been going around everywhere inside the loop recently. We ordered the meatballs and calamari as apps for the table. The meatball was lukewarm and an unsuccessful reheat; I was not a fan of the tomato sauce with the cheese either. The fried calamari dish was also a bit oily with a disappointing batter. Both are a bit disappointing compared to expectations.I ordered the prosciutto and fig pizza and a side of brussel sprouts for the main. The pizza had a nice crust and was pretty solid. The pizza was a bit heavy on the crust rather than mostly topping but had good flavor and execution. The sprouts with the pine nuts was also a nice touch but a bit on the salty side. Overall, I preferred what I ordered at their uptown location and definitely missed on ordering some of their better dishes this time. Definitely should've done some pasta and different apps. The meatballs and calamari were a miss for me but the pizza made up a bit for them. Order carefully!

Freaking. Ah-mazing. Are. You. Kidding. Me?!? From drinks, to the appetizers, to the main course, to the service and ambiance, North Italia was missing in my life. You just can't go wrong. If you consider yourself an old fashioned connoisseur, try the Golden Fig. It was so beautifully smooth...I will have sweet dreams in my future about this delight. The bar tenders were attentive, amiable, and entertaining. Such a fun spot. 100% recommend.

Excited to have North Italia in the area. Love the ambience here and it's located in a good spot at City Centre. You can park in the garage of studio movie grill or do street parking/valet. It was a bit crowded on a Friday night so we had to wait for a bit. They have a bar inside and also an outside bar. We enjoyed sitting outside given all the lights that were lit up at night. It's such a nice vibe. Our server was very nice and accommodating. I ordered the squid ink tonnarelli which is always my go-to here. I love the texture of the squid ink pasta and it went perf with the truffle garlic bread. They are very focused on quality. Everything was delish. This is such a great addition to City Centre.

I was so excited when this location opened. My friends and I have been going to the location at Post Oak for years, but since this new one opened, we've tried to come here instead for a change in ambiance, and there's a lot more to do in City Centre than Post Oak. As I am already familiar with the menu, I ordered the same thing I usually get. The pesto pasta with Salmon instead of chicken. It's always yummy. My friends and I shared the chef's board. The fig jam goes really well with the cheese and almonds. And the truffle bread is a staple that we always have to get. We tried a couple new desserts this time, I don't recall their names but they were delicious! The service was amazing. Thank you Shakir and Lauren for making our night memorable!

This location's space is more spacious and open which I love!! No one is bumping into your chair while they are going by your table or knocking things off like it happens at the post oak location. The service is wonderful, ask for Lauren .The drinks are not watered down. The braised short rib is flavourful and seasoned to perfection and is one of my go tos. Their squid ink pasta is a great choice as well. Recently tried the Branzino and was pleased with how good it was, especially paired with their gem lettuce salad. My only concern is that the root vegetables that come with the braised short ribs are not tender but very tough and hard to cut with the knife or enjoy with the main component. This is the second time the vegetables came out tough when ordering that dish. Also, they were quick to rectify their overly salty pesto pasta and make sure it was done right. But they do have an issue with over salting their food because the shrimp scampi was also very salty.

The food is very well portioned, they have appetizers, pasta entries, pizzas, and salads. In my opinion their meatballs and bolognese are signature dishes, but everything I have tried it's very fresh and tasty. Service was prompt and polite. The place itself its very well located in the City Centre. It has both indoors and outdoors seating, and it's good for big or smaller parties. It's very casual chic type of dinning. The only downside would be parking its share with the area, so you may to do a little bit of walking.

North Italian recently occupied the space that the Tasting Room was in in City Center and this is an incredible upgrade. They have done so much better with the prime outside space they had. Nice, comfortable and attractive seating outside with good waitstaff. Even some cool high tables outside, fans, awnings, umbrellas. Inside they have completely redone it. It seems so much lighter and I think they must have lifted the ceiling or done something as it just seems so much more spacious when obviously it's the same. They view it the kitchen is more open and the bar area looks much more open and light. The good is very good as you would expect if you have visited their other location. I have been there twice now and did the fungi pizza both times. Dining partners did bruschetta , salads, pasta etc. All reported high quality tasty food with appropriate sizes. Wine list is not large, like the tasking room, but its good. Chianti, was good , so was the Chardonnay. At least during spring , and i guess Fall this will be the place to be in City Center. I have already booked again for this coming Monday

I was so happy to see North Italia sneak a second location into CityCentre, taking over the previous Tasting Room space. If you're new to North Italia, it's worth dropping by for a bite. They are an elevated Italian restaurant that still runs fast for professionals on lunch, with a myriad of delicious traditional and not so traditional offerings, including some excellent pizzas. We've been fans of the Post Oak location for some time, and their new locale borrows hard from the original's aesthetic but is using their larger space to smooth over some of the complaints surrounding the original's cramped layout. Lunch will be a beast here, since it's Citycentre and adjacent to so many work spaces, but our first lunch visit was a fairly smooth one. Yes, front of house is still working out the kinks, and hiring servers anywhere is still a problem for Houston, BUT overall it was a good first dry run. We started with the Chef's Board, Cacio e Pepe Arancini, and the Italian meatballs for the table. Everything came out fairly quick and tasty. I ordered the Chicken parmesan Entrée portion for my main, and it did not disappoint. It was more than I bargained for, portion wise, so I even made a second meal out of it by taking it home. All of my tablemates were happy with their orders. Nothing was forgotten, cold, or downright off, so I'd mark that as a win. Service was a little bumpy, but the staff is clearly new, and they got things figured out shortly after the original confusion of who was on first. I don't see this being a repeat problem. I haven't made it back for dinner, but I've already added it to my lunch rotation for work events, and look forward to a follow up visit.
