Nguyen Cuisine Vietnamese Bistro

Drove up the plaza on my drive from Tomball to Freeport. The Yelp rating was high but I was disappointed. I ordered Spring Roll and Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ( with beef, tendon and d pork hock). The noodle soup tasted good but I had trouble finding meats inside the bowl. Other than that hock piece, I could barely find any beef slices with a few tendons. The Spring Roll was good, but overall it is no worth more than 3 stars.

Good Pho place. Very prompt service. Definitely will be back soon. Highly recommended.

Had the biggest craving for Bun Bo Hue and lets me say this place did not disappoint. I was SO happy with my bowl, for the price and size I've never been so happy! I got the Bun Bo Dac biet, the pho dac biet and egg rolls. I recommended it all! Service was so friendly and nice! The shop was so bright and nicely decorated too. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of their menu. 10/10

I wanted pho and recalled this place that my husband mentioned to me some time ago so we thought it would be a good day to give it a try. Location is on 249. My husband and I are calling this area as the 'Up & Coming Asia Town of 249'. There were also other Asian restaurants and cafes in the same complex. Parking was plenty and easy. For food, we ordered the Nem Nuong (Grilled Pork) Rolls and a Pho Dac Biet to share. As a reference, I've tried the original Nem Nuong place on Bellaire that made this dish a hit in Houston. In comparison, these spring rolls are slightly different. The Grilled Pork is not hand pressed to a stick so doesn't have the look, texture, or abundance from that technique. It also doesn't have a charcoal flavor from grilling. When the dish came out, I actually thought we got tofu or spam spring rolls because of how it looked. I think the grilled pork could be pan grilled. Also the crunchy roll inside it was smaller and the sauce looks different in color but thought it still taste pretty similar to the other version I've had. Taste wise, it's still familiar and was decent. We killed it. For the pho, Dac Biet only came in one size. It worked out for sharing. Even after splitting it, I thought we still had plenty of food. I made sure to taste the broth before adding in lime juice, Siracha, and hoisin sauce. The broth tasted like pho with a more buttery taste. For those that are familiar with Nuoc Beo, that's what the taste reminded me of - Pho broth with Nuoc Beo added to it. (Nuoc Beo is a scallion oil concoction of goodness that anyone can ask off the menu to add more depth to the flavor) We killed the pho too. Lastly, we got the sugarcane drink to go. This is so great for the scorching Houston heat! Loved seeing actual sugarcane in a bin. Definitely confirms that it was made fresh. Service was good. Our waitress was attentive and made sure to check on us from time to time. The inside looks new and more with the time. Love the table set up too. There was a great array of sauces and other stuff, which makes it easier when you're ready to eat. Overall decent. We plan to come back to try other things on their menu.

Fantastic atmosphere about 20 different tables can hold probably somewhere close around 60 to 80 people service.Made an order of 3 XL pho, pork Banh mi, 4 egg rolls, rice and grilled chicken, spicy beef noodle (large) and vermicelli combination over the phone at 8:30pm, and was able to pick up the food about 20-25 minutes later fast service.Love the Vietnamese music playing in the background. Also there are 3 large screen TVs hanging on the wall.Friendly service. Smiling faces.The food was delicious! The Banh mi bread was crunchy on the outside yet soft in the middle. The pho had that deep flavor. I highly recommend.

The food was ok, but I didn't like the service, the place is nice, but I will only order to go in the future.

Unexpectedly good Pho + Banh Cuon.... annnnnnd theeeee freshest sugarcane drink I've EVER had in the city of Houston! Nothing artificial about it. Most places juice them too early so they don't taste that fresh at all, but not this place. They also don't add too much sugar that would dominate the drink. If you pay attention to the Vietnamese customers they are all drinking that nuoc mia! The place is clean for a northside Vietnamese restaurant! Hope they keep that up!

Really open and airy atmosphere that can seat large parties! In fact, we witnessed many large parties coming by to the enjoy the food, as they should! We just kept getting blasted by the relentless wind coming in & out.The pho was rich in anise, which I personally favor!The egg rolls were hot and fresh!The soda came in a can, so no fountain or refills.All around a very nice experience! Our server was patient and answered our menu questions. I would come back, especially on the colder days to enjoy a hot soup.

There may be some bias in the food because my family members are from Vietnam but we came here to try out their food since they're brand new. My dad got the pho and my boyfriend ordered a Banh Uot which is rice cakes with veggies and some pork patties. My boyfriend said the food he ordered was alright but he's had better rice cakes at other places. He also mentioned that the fish sauce tasted alittle funny but couldn't describe it well for me to understand. My dad said the pho wasn't very good however. His main complaint was that the soup was very bland and so he added alot of hoisin just to give it some flavor and salt. He did say service was alright though as they brought the food out fairly quickly. I'll have to give this place another try myself since I only had some left over Banh Uot to try so I can't completely judge appropriately but I probably won't try the Pho since my dad didn't enjoy it as much.
