"Dining at Dan Sung Sa in approximately 2018 with some of my friends/classmates was a unique experience in terms of ambiance/atmosphere, food, and discussion. We were a cohort who entered Ph.D. programs in the same department in the same year. We opted to come here for food to do a semi-routine check in with how we were all doing. The line was not too long for us when we arrived and we were seated in our own house-like booth. While there were many other diners, the interior decor helped provide a physical impediment to sound from other groups carrying into our booth. While we did strain at times to hear each other, we did hear that one of us, Nate, was getting married and only their families were invited (small ceremony). It was also the occasion where we were informed another one of us, Luke, was leaving with a Masters degree and going to pursue goat farming. Not sure how long we wanted to catch up, we decided to pick a dish per person (approximately). The food came out in a few different batches. We were hungry when round one arrived and ended up liking the staggered delivery, our immediate hunger was alleviated with the first round and we filled up with subsequent round(s) of dishes. Servers/workers were busy, but did not forget about us."
"The EPITOME of Korean comfort food and late night cravings. I am salivating as I type this review and missing all the flavors of each dish. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious, but my favorites were the Spicy Carbonara Rice Cakes, AZIT rice, and Garlic Bossam. The rice cakes were creamy, spicy, and umami. The Azit rice was cheesy, savory, and addictive The Garlic Bossam was the perfect refreshing bite with the lettuce wrap and assorted pickled veggies. Loved the garlic sauce on the pork. Was my first time trying this and it won't be my last. You'll also be blown away by the portions of basically everything here. Perfect for big groups to share! Great night life ambience. It's pretty dark inside but nicely decorated! Very unique. Our waitress was super nice and helpful. We had a delicious and enjoyable dine. Highly recommend to everyone!"

"Caveat: 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 Hole in the wall restaurant in an outdoor mildly sketchy (but safe) shopping center. Small space, but enough seating/turnover there shouldn't be a wait. Seems to be family-owned and staffed. Friendly workers and extensive menu. Great banchan spread and food is delicious with generous portions. Definitely worth going to if you're in the area!"
"I came to Tong Soon Garden with my friends after hearing good things about its Jajang Mein and Fried Chicken. I came to a completely empty restaurant and we were seated immediately. The servers welcomed us and the place is very traditional with large wooden tables and open space. We asked for recommendations, which our waiter helped explain each of the dishes. We placed our order and the dishes came out quickly one-by-one.I really liked the Jajang Mein and Kan Pung Gi. The Jajang Mein was so flavorful with the thick black bean sauce and bouncy noodles. The Kan Pung Gi was crispy and the sauce was sweet and tangy. We also got the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce, which was good but very heavy from the sauce. The Jjampong was also good and had a softer soup. The sweet and sour pork was a little off putting by the color, but the taste was actually quite sweet. We had a good time enjoying all the dishes, and our server gave us pear slush drinks and fortune cookies at the end!For all this food, it was decently affordable. Although there were a lot of fried dishes, I still enjoyed it."
"All you can eat. Food was pretty good to me. I just wish the service was faster but the staff were nice. It seemed they were low staffed. They did the best to try and change the grill too. But for a weekend day they should have more members. I dropped a star for that. But it was clean on the inside!Everything meat wise was yummy. Sauces were on point. Private lot in front"
"We've driven past this spot countless times but never ventured inside--until now. Celebrating a personal milestone, we finally gave it a try, and wow, we wish we'd come sooner! On a packed Friday night, the lively atmosphere set the tone: tables full of smiling groups enjoying incredible KBBQ. We opted for a set meal and were thrilled when the servers not only brought everything out but cooked it for us right at the table. The meat? High quality and perfectly cooked (no risky burning the dinner for me here!)This isn't a fancy spot, but it's full of charm. The owner treats everyone like family, striking up warm conversations with regulars and newcomers alike. The star of the night was the kimchi fried rice, prepared tableside. So, the next time you drive by, don't just pass it--stop in and treat yourself. You'll leave full, happy, and already planning your return!"
"Easy to park, great prices. Great service, food came out fast. Will definitely return when I'm in the area! We got the lunch price short ribs & #2 combination soondubu"
"I was happy to find this place open till 8:00pm on Thanksgiving day (an hour earlier than their normal business hours, but good enough for me). Ordered for pickup in advance. The restaurant had a cute atmosphere with indoor seating, no one dining in on this holiday evening, not surprisingly, but a handful of takeout orders were neatly bagged and sitting on the table, my order ready when I arrived. The staff grabbed my bag and politely handed it to me, a simple and smooth process.I really enjoyed the baked lobster roll, with shrimp and crab meat and a lobster mix (large flavorful chunks), and a nice kick from the spicy mayo. It was so delicious, and a decent size for a meal. Wow, I sometimes feel like all sushi spots are fairly the same, but this one stood out to me with the quality and taste. It was definitely memorable, and makes me wanna come back for more."
"Pocha K's a solid late night spot with a lively environment. Amazing spot to get good grub with friends and enjoy some soju past midnight. My friends and I came here for a 21st birthday party and were pleasantly delighted by the vibes, service, and most importantly... the FOOD! Here's everything we ordered:Kimchi Fried Rice - 9.5/10 - Flavorful, tasty, and overall DELICIOUS! So good we ordered seconds.Corn Cheese - 7/10 - Typical corn cheese, very solid order. Nothing spectacular but still very good. Rabokgi - 6/10 - Tteokbokki with ramen, not the best one I've had just because it's a little sweeter than I'd like. Only thing I didn't really like here. Chicken Gizzard - 10/10 - WOWOWOWOW! I loved the chicken gizzard, so perfectly seasoned and presented on a sizzling plate. A MUST TRY! Overall, pretty solid experience. Definitely recommend visiting if you haven't been already."
"Weekday dinner turned into an absolute FEAST! My friend and I decided to treat ourselves, and wow, did we go all in! The vibes here are top-tier! Cute decor, super welcoming staff, and an easy tablet ordering system. We kicked things off with their ice cream soju drinks, which seemed light and cute... until they hit us with a sneaky punch. Food-wise, we skipped the rice bowls (gotta keep the figures in check) and went for a mix of their pan dishes. The CC Pan Dish (Cocaine Chicken) + corn cheese was an elite combo: sweet, flavorful, and comforting. The pork pan dish with macaroni salad was just as delicious, and the Pig Ponzu Salad? Easily my favorite. If you love ponzu, you need to try it! The seafood pancake was crispy and tasty, but I wish it came with more dipping sauce. Also tried their skewers, which were fun to share, but honestly, a bit too much work for me. Huge shoutout to the store manager who checked in on us and convinced us to try the $5 hot sake deal. Let's just say it took our night up a notch. Portions were generous, and we had plenty to take home for lunch the next day. Definitely coming back with friends, especially since they stay open late!"
"Finally came here last night with a small group of friends. Always better to do korean food family style in my opinion. We were able to be seated immediately but any later than the 6pm arrival time, we probably would have had to wait. The restaurant itself is very stylish along with their menu design. The menus themselves are already worse for wear though. All our menus had torn or ripped pages in them, which is surprising since it's a fairly new restaurant that's on the nicer side. What we ordered: -kimchi pancake ($9.99): this was a nice and tasty pancake with nice texture. It's a thicker pancake than I'm used to. It could be a little crispier.- seafood pancake ($20.99): the seafood pancake I really liked along with the rest of the table. Nice and crispy with a decent amount of seafood. Probably my favorite dish.-seafood kalguksu ($22.99): the most disappointing dish for me. The broth was on the bland side. Noodles was decent texture but just not a good quantity of noodles. We barely got 4 people enough noodles for a quarter bowl of noodles each and still had a 5th person. Plenty of seafood though, also on the bland side though. The noodles itself is a like a 2/5 for me.- steamed dumplings ($13.99 for 6): the dumplings were fine. Needed the sauce and then was very tasty. The one on the menu shows 4 mandu but on the electronic ordering, it is 6 regular steamed dumplings. - bulgogi sotbap ($26.99): the bowl was surprisingly deep so had a lot of rice. It showed some crispy rice at the bottom, but I'll try to ask them to cook it longer so it's actu crispy. The bulgogi itself was good but not very bulgogi tasting, like lacking in that bulgogi sauce. Pickles that came with it were good.-ondam chicken platter ($21.99): this had a nice variety of kfc in 3 different flavors. My favorite was the fried garlic one. The sauce it came with was good and went well with the kimchi pancake actually. I wish there was the option of bone in or boneless chicken. But decent amount of chicken for the price. Could be fresher or crispier when it came though. -complementary bonchon: the bonchon options here were quite delicious. I really liked the black beans and the green veggie dishes. A very solid bonchon. For the price point and quality of food, I gave 4/5 stars. We were able to feed 5 people very well for around $30ish each. It's on the blander side flavors wise. Great bonchon though. But tasty enough overall where I would crave it enough to come back multiple times, especially with a group. My biggest gripe is if they're doing electronic system, should have the option to ask for water or tea. It was quite difficult to get water refills. We also asked for tea at the beginning but that never came. Servers were quick once you did manage to get their attention."
"Pros:Large Portions, really fast service. Food was piping hot. It's nice that they have this Japanese & korean restaurant in between the Vietnam shops in case you want to try something else. Tastes Homely. The high ceilings are a nice add to the restaurant Cons: Nothing that comes across, is it the best korean food I have had? No, but it's still pretty good for a quick bite."

Azit is a late-night casual eatery bringing Korean fusion comfort food to the Oakland food scene. Although the exterior of the restaurant doesn't seem like much, upon walking in you're greeted with neon signs and a dimly lit interior meant to mimic the ambiance of Korean nightlife. This spot is perfect for those looking for either a dinner meal or a late bite to eat as they're open from 6pm to 1:30am seven days a week. Our party of 6 arrived shortly after they opened and were able to be seated without any wait. After perusing the menu for a bit we decided on their seafood pancake, corn cheese, bulgogi and cheese fries (which I am now realizing I lack a photo of), a half-serving of their boneless wings with rice cake (in soy garlic), 2 small portions of their Korean fried chicken (in soy garlic and spicy), the fish cake and udon soup, plus the garlic bossam to round out the meal. My favorite part of dining with friends is the ability to order more food than you could ever finish on your own, that way you're able to try even more menu items! The food came relatively quickly starting off with the seafood pancake and corn cheese (interestingly enough the bulgogi and cheese fries came quite a bit after our main meal items, but we still enjoyed them just the same). It would take me a while to go through each individual dish and wax poetry about it so I'll jsut give you the bottom line - their food is amazing and authentic. The Korean fried chicken was a show stopper as the meal was perfectly lightly fried to give you that crispy exterior, yet a juicy interior that you want with fried food. The garlic bossam was also a hit - pairing the flavorful pork in a lettuce wrap with your choice of banchan accompaniments to add in. As someone who can't tolerate much spicy food, I will note that the fish cake and udon soup does have jalapenos in it, which gave the dish a bit of a kick. It was somewhat tolerable for me, but not my favorite and so I wanted to mention that here since no where on the menu states that this particular dish is spicy. If you're craving for some Korean food late at night in the Oakland area, then Azit is definitely the place for you!

Cute little Korean restaurant. Space is tight so large groups are harder to accommodate but the food is SO GOOD. This is my go to for non-all you can eat Korean restaurant in the area. The service is amazing, personable and super quick. Highly recommend their seafood pancake and bulgogi. Tofu soup, is my fav though!

** Review for takeout **This review is for takeout only. We ordered the string beans, salt &pepper fish, tangsuyuk, kangpungi wings, and jajang myun. The jajang myun, Tangsuyuk, string beans were delicious and a classic menu item. The salt & pepper fish was a bit on the bland side, but the fish itself was very tender. The Kangpungi wings are not clear on delivery apps, so I called to have this picked up. Note- there is also House Wings that are a soy garlic based wings that are not available on delivery apps and have to call the restaurant directly for it. I was told that the menu is too extensive and the restaurant could not put all the available items online. It was good, but in my opinion it was too soggy.

Ohgane has always been my go-to spots to grab kbbq as they serve AYCE & the meat quality is really good! The space is pretty spacious which allow a lot of parties, and it's well ventilated. The tables have call buttons so at the press of a button, you can have someone come to the table. My party often orders their brisket, short rib, and pork belly amongst the options they do provide and we love it each time! I often pair it up by adding their green onion salad on the side! It helps balance out with the meat & the feeling of any greasiness. They have a lot of good appetizers to select from, we often go for their corn cheese & tofu soup. Their soups are excellent and packed with a lot of ingredients. At the end of the meal, my bf and I would usually ask for a slushy. We love their lychee slushy! If you're ever in the area & are looking for a new kbbq spot, you should check our Ohgane!

Best Korean spot in Korea Town, Sunnyvale. We located this spot while scrolling for a late night spot to eat around our neighborhood. We often used to late night doordash from this spot and always had great food.We opted for Korean BBQ and the minimum is two meats - we chose the pork belly & brisket. Immediately after ordering, a heaping amount of banchan came out and we barely had any room on our table. It also came with super yummy steamed eggl. The meat came out next and I was completely not expecting the waitress to start cooking for us. I'm so used to doing it myself when going out to eat so I was appreciative of the service. The meat was cooked faster than we were able to eat between two of us - but it was good! We ended up finishing our meal in under 15 minutes. We will definitely be returning!

I came here on Saturday morning with a group of people when they first opened. No wait time to be seated.I honestly didn't know what to expect because this was my first time at a tofu restaurant. We ordered the spam and cheese tofu soup with super spicy level. The temperature of the soup was super hot. The spicy level was fire. I actually really enjoyed it. It was so good couldn't stop eating it even though it was so spicy. We also had ordered the seafood pancake, that was good too. Definitely would come back.

"TL;DR: friendly spot with comforting Korean food but prices were high for where it isMom's tofu house has had a recent facelift, I noticed that they were closed for a bit and have since reopened with a brand new, bright and airy interior. Service is friendly and you can call for service whenever you need it with the handy button on the table. The menu is pretty extensive, with most of the classics you can imagine. From the signs on the wall, they make their own tofu for the restaurant but I was interested in the pork soup since you don't see it at too many places.Pork soup: this was served with purple rice on the side, as well as chives, chilli paste and salt. The soup was pretty flavorful already so I didn't really need the salt, and warm and comforting and quite rich. I was surprised that the meat in there was pork belly, I thought it might be a different, more meaty cut like shoulder. Nevertheless, this was yummy.Spicy pork stone pot: everyone loves a good stone pot with the crispy rice! They had oiled this pot well so the crispy rice came off easy and was delicious with all the crunchy vegetables and spicy pork. The banchan provided was ok - they had fishcake, soy sauce onions, bean sprouts, some green vegetable, and 2 kinds of kimchi (Napa and radish).Honestly the food was pretty good and I would go back if the prices were lower. But for at least $20 per entree, I found the spot quite pricy especially since there are many more affordable options in the area."
"I am obsessed with their gimbap and triangle gimbap! Rice Junky recently changed their business to serving Korean street food and snacks which I don't mind because I've been looking for a place to get delicious gimbap and rice balls. They also serve sandwiches that are also delicious! The gimbap is packed with ingredients and super delicious. Perfect for on the go. If you're looking for something easy to take and pack, their rice balls or triangle gimbap is amazing. They have legit packaging to keep the seaweed nice and crisp separate from the rice ball so it can be enjoyed anytime! My favorites are the spam and jalapeno and tuna mayo. They do open and close early so be sure to check hours before going and are closed on Sunday. I recommend making an order online since it can be really busy and orders might take a little longer to complete."
"Visited this restaurant for a late lunch yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Despite a 15-minute wait for a table, the experience was well worth it. I was drawn in by the appealing photos on Yelp and the menu, which looked promising.I ordered the beef tofu soup and a half order of the sweet and spicy fried chicken. Both dishes were flavorful and satisfying. The tofu soup was rich and comforting, with tender beef and a well-balanced broth. The fried chicken was perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of heat and sweetness. The meal came with complimentary banchan (small side dishes), which were a highlight. The selection was generous and included a variety of fresh and tasty options. The restaurant has a family-friendly atmosphere, and the service was attentive and efficient. I would definitely recommend this spot for anyone craving delicious Korean food, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!"
"Really decent Korean bbq place with top notch quality and service! I would recommend to go there if you are in the area. The meat quality was good but the pancakes were crunch as I like."
"For opening this late and wonderful customer service , will come back again! Lovely people and delicious fresh food! Recommend !"
"I heard Fish Day recently renovated and rebranded to K Kitchen and Fish Day. Previous version was very yummy so thought it would be worth a try. I visited on a Saturday during lunch time. STARS (stand out qualities)-customer service was one of the biggest stars. the owner-couple were so warm, responsive and helpful-local business owned by people of color -food was good quality AND quantity-food came out freshly made and hot -food presentation was nice -owners gave extra for certain banchan since we ate it quickly-reusable eatingware -beautiful interior dining area with booths and tables/chairs-clean bathroom -plenty of parking STAIRS (areas of growth)-recommend compostable or biodegradable large takeout boxes (they did have small compostable ones) -prices feel high to me but I think they are competitive Bay Area prices. Worth the price for all the stars above TIPS-prepare for cash payment if you want discounted prices-I recommend the Chive Seafood Jeon and Ddeokbokki and which was very flavorful and packed with good ingredients -bring friends, family and coworkers! Seems to be a hidden gem at the moment"
"Went here for lunch. Got the Hot Stone - Chicken and Shrimp with Brown rice. As the name suggests, the bowl was super hot (almost sizzling) which enhanced the taste of the food. The chicken and shrimp were very tasty and the food was hot till the last bite. Loved the crispy brown rice that got stuck to the stone :DFor obvious reasons the hot stone is available when you dine is, so would recommend eating here to get a better experience."
"First timer, Tin & Pig is def serving up some authentic Korean food. The ambiance was great the meals are extremely hearty but also pretty pricy which is why I took a star away - not saying it's not worth it but it could be a tab then again what's not now a day's. I'm a huge fan of Kimchi Stew this one had pork in it, very rich & comforting on a rainy night served with a side of rice. Def enjoyed it. Got the sweet & spicy wings & the plain wing's I wanted the sauce on the side but it's $3 to have the sauce on the side which kinda confused me? Regardless packed with flavor and fried to perfection. The bulgogi w/rice & egg which is semi pictured could honestly be skipped on. It was good but it didn't stand out to me. Def wanna try hot pot going back.Over all the customer service was great, the gentleman who served us was very personable & he checked in but also gave enough space for us to have a conversation. Hopefully you guys enjoy this place & try it out :)"
"Amazing service and the staff are very polite. The wait was a little long as expected to come for brunch on Sunday. Food was very good also and ingredients are well prepared. Loved my fried chicken and waffles, wifey loved her ricotta pancakes. Will try the Loco Moco Next time. The ambiance is a little on the louder side since it's a small place. But cozy and feels very welcoming. Will definitely come back and visit The Sunday... on other days as well. Message to the two guys that helped us today: You guys are very very welcoming and nice and polite and The Sunday is very lucky to have both of you guys working there. You have made our day!!!!"
"My friend and I love Go Goong! The beef soft tofu soup is what we order everytime. We get medium spice, which is perfect for me. The restaurant is open for lunch and then again for dinner, so you have to check the times. They play Kpop music. There are plenty of tables. We have never been on the waiting list before lunch. We usually get there around 12:00. The banchan is always good. My friend likes the fish cakes, they don't always have it, but you can ask. I like the kimchi and the cucumbers. The Galbi is delicious! I ordered it to go for my husband and they packed it like a full on lunch with rice and banchan. It was so cute! I was just expecting galbi. We have had the seafood pancake, which is delicious and also the chicken wings are good and crispy. The rice tea or water is delicious. I'm not sure if you have to ask for it. But we had it last time we were there. The waitress is very sweet. She remembers my friend and I from coming in before. Of course we will always be back to have our tofu soup."
"I've been searching for a Korean bbq burrito after my favorite one closed down so this place was a must-stop on our day trip to the East Bay. It's located inside of Lake Chabot Public Market to the right of the entrance. They sell branded merch that we were so tempted to buy! They also have a little grocery store section which is perfect if you needed to grab a few things. We ordered the kalbi burrito and bulgogi cheesesteak. She warned us of the wait time before we ordered, which we appreciated. She quoted us 20-25 minutes but it wasn't too long at all! We got our food in about 15 minutes but I appreciated their transparency. Had to take a bite of the French fries first - they tasted like McDonald's! My kalbi burrito was huge, and so good. The ingredients could be spread out a little better, I was eating just plain rice for the first 3 bites. And all of the kimchi was in the very last few bites on the other end. But otherwise the meat was tender, although could've been more of it! I also would've enjoyed some kind of spicy creamy sauce, maybe like a gochujang mayo. The size was plenty and I was able to take home half to eat for another meal. The burrito was closer to a 4 star but my review is going to be a 5 because of my husband's bulgogi cheesesteak. It was also very good size which is good since both were $15 each without any side or drink. The meat was so tender and there was a nice kick to the flavor. The tomato and lettuce were unnecessary since those aren't on cheesesteaks normally but I could eat those peppers all day. They were sweet and not overly spicy. I hope they read this review and tell me what kind of peppers those were because I need them in my everyday meals at home!Really great experience here - I'll definitely remember that cheesesteak!"
"I can safely say, as a person who does not regularly consume Korean cuisine, that I deeply enjoyed my experience at this Korean BBQ Restaurant! The food! Gosh! I adored how flavorful and crispy the vegetables and meat was, along with the sauce being deeply soaked into each food item that I eat here. The service at this restaurant was very professional and efficient. I appreciated how the waiting time for my food was around 20 minutes tops as well. And lastly, can I just say how I was delighted to see that this restaurant had Korean symbols plastered through the restaurant, along with Christmas music playing in the background was a great mix for a perfect ambiance present in this restaurant (:"
"Good for the Seoul Nondescript Mom & Pop run restaurant not too far away from 237 that's seemingly been around for maybe 30-40 years from what I can tell. I'm not sure if it's the original owners or was sold at some point, but the food seems to have stayed consistently good over the years.I wanted to come here after reading Elena C's review of the Liang Zhang Pi (LZP--yeah you know me!) because I'm always curious to try new-to-me dishes and it was a cold, rainy day and figured why the hell not?The Good:*Customer service was friendly, fast, and efficient. *Décor is simple and understated but enough to know one's in an Asian restaurant. *Complimentary hot tea! Seems simple enough, but so many places charge for simple things like this these days.*Who's down with LZP? Everybody! Essentially, it's a cold noodle salad with shrimp, squid, and more veggies than you can shake a chop stick at. The concomitant peanut-wasabi sauce was sweet, spicy, and delightful. *Black Bean Sauce Noodle (aka Jajangmyeon) is a popular Korean noodle dish that we'd tried before, and theirs was delicious. Earthy, sweet, and served with oodles of noodles. *Their Dry-Fried Fried Chicken Wings are nothing short of FANTASTIC! It is so crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. My one complaint was I wish they were a little spicier, but Carissa felt the heat level was fine. *Housemade ban chan (pickled radish and kimchi) were also both terrific. *Servings are massive, and we had plenty for leftovers for the next day. *Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the portion size. The Meh:*Beer was served tepid, at best. Maybe they had just restocked the fridge, and it hadn't come up to temp yet? *I'm a little confused if this place is Chinese, Korean, or just a place that serves up both? It's definitely not fusion, as the two cuisines are definitely held in equal regard.*No outdoor seatingThe Ugly:*Evidently, not everyone is on-board with the whole cutting the noodles with scissors thing, as I was notified by another Yelper who shall remain nameless. (:TLDR: Come for the LZP, but stay for the wings. Highly recommended."
"Such a hidden gem for Korean bunsik items: tteokbbokki, kimbap, and Korean fried chicken. I love that they do a boneless of the Korean chili large fried chicken. It comes with a side of radishes and makes it more authentic. Definitely call ahead to place your order ahead of time. There is no seating except some tables outside, so I highly recommend taking it back somewhere else to eat. My go to orders are: kimbap, japchae, tteokkbbokki, & large fried chicken with 1/2 soy garlic / 1/2 korean chili."
"The service is friendly and the food is good. The side dishes are great and free refills. The menu has something for everyone, even my picky kid."
"This is a small place to host a large party such as more than 10 people. The food is delicious. The season is just right (not too salty). I would highly recommended this place."
"I love this place. Been going here since before Covid. Their garlic sprout panchan thing is prob the best I've ever had. This is my go to Korean soup and dol sot bibambap spot. The staff here are hella funny, my friends and I are huge fans of Soni. She's here every now and then. She'll entertain your soju shots if you're pouring lol. Oh, for the ultra congested parking lot, just park next door at the bank and E sharp hair joint."
"3.5 STARSBeijing Restaurant isn't your typical Chinese resto. It's like they're living in 2030. Their Chinese entrees are priced 25%-70% higher than other Chinese restos in the area. They're not upscale and they're not using premium ingredients so what am I missing? School me. Since opening in 2014, Beijing Restaurant has been a staple in Santa Clara for Junghwa, Korean-style Chinese food (sister businesses: Roll N Noodle & Two Zone Chicken closed during the pandemic). It's a cuisine created by Chinese immigrants in Korea. Open for takeout, delivery, and indoor dining. No more outdoor dining. Good heat with a savory sweetness. Def eat with the yellow pickled radish for refreshing, acidic in-between bites. Def like this better than their jjajangmyeon. * G8: Tangsuyuk - Sweet & Sour Pork, Beijing style ($23.95) // 3.5 Stars- Requested jjikmuk style w/ red sauce on the sideArrived fully sealed with no vents but luckily the pork wasn't soggy since it was nekkid (sauce on the side). The fried strips of pork were crispy and tender with some slightly fatty pieces. The onions, carrots, and bell peppers were still raw. Canned pineapples for sweetness.I personally like the radioactive Chinese-American red sweet & sour sauce more than the usual Korean-style orange sweet & sour sauce. * F2: Mongolian Beef ($24.95) // 4 StarsTender, savory slices of beef served with crisp green and white onions. Topped with fried vermicelli noodles for texture. Menu said, it's "spicy" but it's not. Couldn't detect wok hei and I don't think they velvet the beef (didn't have that obvs softness). * Rice ($2 x2)Properly cooked. No goguma mattang included for delivery orders. =(S E R V I C ECordial and prompt. Delivery took 40 minutes (about 8 minutes away). A M B I A N C EBustling with a mainly Korean crowd on the weekends. There's about a dozen tables inside and several private rooms. P A R K I N GShared parking in the plaza.Overall, decent Korean-style Chinese fare with improvements needed on noodle cook time and packaging of fried foods. I prefer Paik's more (didn't care for Tong Soon) but I rather support a small local business over a large chain."
"I was craving some Kimchi Stew so I decided to order pickup! I wanted to try the raw marinated crab but unfortunately, they were out of stock. I ended up getting Galbi jjim and Pork Bulgogi too. There is a good amount of side dishes! (Fish cake, japchae, cucumbers)Galbi jjim - very moist and easy to chew! Pork Bulgogi - a bit too smokey in my opinion, but the cut of meat is just right and not dryKimchi Stew - tofu is a good size and tasty, pork is just the right cut of meat and moist, and cabbage tastes fresh and not hard! If you're eating indoors it's a bit cramped when I went in for pickup. It was very busy on the weekend at night.Parking is in a plaza"
"This restaurant stays true to the authentic methods of Korean cuisine. Many of the dishes are perfect pairings for drinks and conversations, just like what you'd find at gatherings after work in Korea. The portions are very generous, one serving is often too much for just one person. My favorite is their spring onion fried chicken, which is best enjoyed fresh on site. The Korean ajummas are also incredibly friendly, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere."
"I never leave disappointed whenever I go to Spoon! I've been here a few times and have tried some other dishes, but the tonkatsu is a must everytime! Some other dishes I've tried are stir fry octopus, short rib soup, and tteokbokki. All are decent but the tonkatsu is definitely the best. The perfect flavor and crisp. Whether you get the regular or cheese tonkatsu, you won't be disappointed. I've gotten it to go/delivered a few times as well and it was still nice and crispy!"
"One of my absolute favorite Korean restaurants in the bay area! If you're looking for authentic Korean food with healthy and nutritious options, this is the place for you. I've been here so many times and can't get enough of it!THE BROTH - Amazing. Adjust the saltness levels based on your preference. * Seolleong Tang: Sliced beef brisket, white noodles, green onions, comes with rice. Clean broth.* Kkorigom Tang: Oxtail, white noodles, green onions, comes with rice. This one is probably the best thing on their menu. The oxtail is so tender with their silky broth.*Kimchi Jeon (pancakes, 3 pieces): Their kimchi is spicy, so keep that in mind. Such a good pairing with the soups.* Haemul Buchujeon (seafood pancakes, 3 pieces); They give a lot of seafood and chives. * Mandu (potstickers with beef, pork, veggies): Korean potstickers hit differently with their noodles inside. So much flavor!Lastly, their banchan side dishes are incredibly delicious. They cut fresh kimchi at your table :) There's a kick to it. Beware that their prices may seem expensive, but it's worth the price and trip to the restaurant. Service is wonderful. The ahjummas love giving us more banchan. Even better if you can speak Korean ;) This restaurant also takes me back to my Seoul trip where everyone is so warm and inviting."
"Best spicy pork in the east bay! And they didn't gouge the prices during the pandemic like everyone else did. Super fast and friendly!"
