Six of us had reservations for Father's Day. Our reservation was for noon and we were all present and accounted for shortly before noon. We weren't seated immediately, but close enough for a holiday. I feel Denver has become much more lax in time and honoring reservations; so honestly anything within 15 minutes is a win. Our table was adequate for conversation and I don't think anyone in our party couldn't be a part of the conversation. I thought about ordering the Eggs Benedict with corn beef hash. Then I remembered I don't care for the Benedict part. Three of us ordered the breakfast burrito. Two ordered the bacon and I ordered sausage. These burritos are huge with a perfect amount of smothered green chile, cheese and lettuce/tomatoes. The only Delta we had was they could have been several degrees warmer. Two more ordered the BLT sandwiches and one of our party was giving away free bacon from her sandwich because "it had six pieces of bacon". That sandwich was devoured and the other BLT guest took her remaining half home for lunch tomorrow. The last part of our party ordered the cobb salad and it looked amazing. Only one of us finished our meal. Five of us brought leftovers home. Did I mention the pickles? Fresh, crisp pickles. Oh, the coleslaw looked delicious and it looked like it had a vinegar base. I was told it tasted like thousand island dressing. The guy at the table next to ours ordered Chile cheese fries. The plate was massive and the next time I looked over, the fries were gone. I was told they are excellent. Our service was great. The restaurant was busy and lots of people coming and going. The waitress felt bad that she didn't remember our patriarch's name. He goes there often. I have no complaints at all. Every time I've eaten there, it's been amazing. Not being seated at our reservation time would have warranted a solid 5. But I get the cultural shift and a holiday.

Fun to make a return visit to NYDN. Spouse & I shared a Grilled Pastrami Reuben (#13) and an order of onion rings. Of course, I had to have a Dr. Brown's Black Cherry Soda -- because it's in my history with NYDN. It was ALL wonderful. Great sandwiches, surprisingly good onion rings.Have to admit, we hadn't had great meals (or service) in recent years here. We had to give it a revisit. So glad we did. The ambiance is still more than a bit disjointed. That's not why we went. It was the sandwiches! Now we'll have to add onion rings to a regular order. So glad we did, and glad to say "We will be back!"

The more I come here, the more I don't understand the pricing at this place at all. This egg salad sandwich was $16. Not much egg salad, mainly lettuce. Oh it also had some bacon on it as well, and usually comes with tomato but I asked for none of that. I seriously laughed when this came out to my table. It also comes with a tiny side of coleslaw but I said no thanks to that as I don't like coleslaw. But paying that much for a sandwich is crazy to me. Only the entrees come with fries by the way, and there's not too many of those so had to order a small fry on the side.

The authentic pastrami sandwich outside New York. And the cheese cake is the best in town.

Haven't been to New York Deli News in years! Went to Santiago's not realizing they were closed on Sundays so we drove down the street looking for a breakfast place. Saw the New York Deli News marquis that said breakfast so we gave it a try. Took a while for someone to take our order but at least we had coffee. We almost left thinking we were forgotten. At the time we arrived, it was not busy. Glad we stayed and waited. The food was hot and tasty. I had the #1 which was eggs, bacon, potatoes and a bagel. My friend had the Deli Hash and it came with a bagel too. We both agreed that we'd come back again for breakfast to try some of the other dishes.

Denver has a bunch of delis, would be delis, pretend delis, sandwich shops that think they're delis, sort of Jewish delis, and the New York Deli News which is the closest thing we've got to a classic, New York City-style Jewish deli. It has been my favorite since they opened in 1989 and it is my favorite now. They hit all of my hot buttons: matzo ball soup, deli salads, chopped liver, a huge list of fantastic, overstuffed sandwiches (corned beef, pastrami, corned beef & pastrami!), blintzes, all day breakfast, and weekend brunch. The space was getting a little tired on my last visit several months ago, but I was surprised this visit with a fancy new sign, a new color scheme, new menus, a tidied up interior, and new systems, including very nice hand-held terminals for the servers. Everything ran very efficiently.I had my frequent order of blintzes on this visit. They were tasty, hot, and fresh. My friend had a very generously-sized cheese omelet which he enjoyed. I love the matzo ball (chicken) soup here. The matzo balls are always tender and the soup richly flavored. The sandwiches are great. You can't go wrong with any of them. This place hits the spot whether you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The New York Deli News is one of Denver's treasures. This is the place for the authentic New York deli experience. Accept no substitutes.

For the price and quality I was sadly disappointed. The bread was dry and so was the meats. Which completely robbed the flavors from the foods. And the price paid was robbery . I was completely expecting a New York Deli food taste. Sadly disappointed. I don't recommend this place.

This deli is don't miss if you like East Coast deli food. Fanatic menu with all kinds of Jewish favorites from chopped liver to matzo ball soup. Wonderfull tasting corned beef and pastrami. I do wish there were equal amounts of both meats.in the combo sandwich. Great tasting rye bread. The large is almost impossible to eat for lunch. Great tasting pickle spears are included with your meal. I think they should drop the cole slaw in a plastic container when you eat it.

Super pricey for a sandwich shop. I ordered the small Reuben with pastrami and corned beef. That comes with a side of slaw and Russian dressing. The small size is enough for the average person. Plenty of meat. Thank goodness for the side of dressing because both meats were very dry and not so flavorful. The small was $18 and change. The large was $22 I think. My total check for the sandwich, iced tea and $5 tip (service was super) was 8 cents shy of $30.And it certainly wasn't the best Reuben I've ever eaten, nope, that was at 303 sports bar in littleton co. and only $16 with fries.

I can't come in on service or ambience as I have only gotten takeout from here, but the food is great. I've had three different sandwiches and all of them are extremely good. From the menu it is a New York style deli with pastrami, corn, beef, brown soda, latkes, half moon cookies and everything else you could need. If you are East coaster and die or need for a cured meat fix, this is your place!
