A bit skeptical at first. I was in NOLA for 24 hours and found myself downtown with a desire to eat some authentic food fromThe area. Reviews spoke well about the place but it seemed like a bit to "fast" food vibe for it to come through with quality. However, I was surprised. The little taste of Nola I believe it's called was a perfect choice. Food had good taste, wasn't heavy like you expect fast food to be (which is what I was expecting). The chicken sandwich was alsoSolid. So overall I think it's a good place if you want good food not over pay and get very friendly service.

Casual brunch place right by Bourbon. The restaurant is big and we didn't need to wait for a table. Though the restaurant was busy, there were always a few tables open. Staff is nice and checked up on our table multiple times. I ordered the shrimp and grits which comes with biscuit and added fried catfish. Grits and catfish were pretty solid, but I was disappointed by the creole sauce. There was nothing special and comparable to jarred tomato sauce from the store. The biscuit was huge, and not dry at all. As someone who tries to avoid plastic use, I was a bit upset seeing a plastic spoon when served coffee.

Came here for lunch on our 1st day in Nawlins. Never had Creole food before so I thought it was interesting. We've ordered the sampler so that we can get a taste of everything. Food was good. It came out piping hot which was great. Not overly seasoned but still packed with flavors. Service was decent.

Do you need breakfast? Look no further. Not wildly greezy but a wee bit on the hash, the rest of the meal was fresh and felt prepared for me. I am pretty sure everyone loved their meal, food wise. My only harummph is that it is so busy and a spot loud if you're trying to have a conversation. There is NOT a lot of space either.

SO and I stopped in for our first lunch in NOLA.The place had a "diner" feel to it. We ordered the Taste of NOLA (gumbo, red beans, jambalaya, fried green tomatoes, biscuit) and the crabcakes. Everything tasted good and the service was attentive. The prices were a bit high though.

Came to Zesty Creole with my toddler to get some breakfast and ordered him the French toast, which was so worth it! As you can see from the picture, it came with everything a French toast should. Great bread, a generous helping of fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and maple syrup with the extra confectioners sugar to top it off. He devoured pretty much the entire plate by himself. He's 19 months old, so that means it was good.I got the taste of NOLA which came with a warm biscuit, two crispy fried green tomatoes, a cup of gumbo, a cup of red beans and rice, and a cup of jambalaya. The jambalaya was my favorite, and I definitely would have eaten more of it, but I thought the gumbo was just so so compared to other gumbo I had this past week. Everything else was delicious. The staff was super friendly and everyone came by to say hi to the little guy or were understanding when he got up and walked around to explore. Loved them! Ambiance was pretty low key, with dinner vibes. Good for families and friends. Would recommend and would come back next time to try other items on the very extensive menu.

Great breakfast place: Service: 10/10 fast and attentiveOverall Food: 8.5/10The seafood gumbo is flavorful but not too overpowering 9/10The gator omelette is very good, but it doesn't taste too different from a regular sausage omelette to be honest, the hash brown though is probably one of the best I've ever had. 9/10The beignets are ok. Flavor is right but the texture is a bit too soft. I would still recommend the one at Cafe du monde 7.5/10Price: 8/10 a little overpriced because it's in the touristy area, but the portion is quite generous. Overall: 8.5/10

Overall: This is a quick creole restaurant about half a block from Bourbon Street. The food is definitely good, just not up to par with some of the other options around. Service was fast, they can handle a lot of traffic quickly. I'd go back, but there are definitely some better options nearby to try.Food: 3Drinks: 2Service: 3Value: 4Atmosphere: 3 Food: We ordered the Nola sampler, the crawfish étouffée, and the Zesty Combo (appetizer sampler). The appetizers were all fried and ended up being pretty similar tasting. The sauces that came with it were good though. The étouffée had lots of flavor, though the crawfish ended up being a bit rubbery. The Nola sampler came with red beans and rice, gumbo, and jambalaya. I thought the red beans and rice were the best of the three. The jambalaya had some overcooked chicken breast and the gumbo lacked a little bit of flavor in the base. Drinks: We ordered a beer and a glass of wine. They came out quickly, pretty standard. However, our seating at the bar gave us a front row seat to watch the bartender in action. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the ratios he used for anything. His pours tended to be heavy on the liquor, but I also saw a couple drinks that were almost entirely mixer. Totally random what you might get.Service: Our service was fast and pretty friendly. In fact, it seemed almost rushed at times. Value: Our bill for two entrees, an app, and drinks came to $101 pre-tip. It was a lot of food all things considered. Atmosphere: This restaurant has a bit of a diner feel to it. Everything is moving quickly, waiters and hosts are shouting and calling things out, and it has the feel of some of the hectic nature of the area. If you want something more laid back, move away from the tourist zone.
