"Such a yummy gelato spot. Got the vanilla and chocolate. They even have a location in the airport."

"Best breakfast place we went to when we were in New Orleans! Was a ways a way on the trolley and then you had to walk through a neighborhood but so worth it. The art on all of the walls on the inside is amazing and creates the ambiance of the place. It's more of a locals place which makes the service even better because it felt like home. We had the french toast, crawfish benedict (amazing!) and breakfast sandwich. All really great! I highly recommend coming all the way over here off the beaten path just for an amazing breakfast."
"Great little coffee shop in the French Quarter with both inside and outside seating. The cappuccino, as well as the food, is excellent. Delicious desserts. Friendly staff. A great place to relax and people watch."
"Okay, yes this is a COFFEE shop. If you are expecting Starbucks drinks that are more sugar and a drop of coffee you will probably have to express that to the barista, otherwise you will get a true coffee! I ordered an iced coffee with a pump of SF mocha and also a hot drip coffee. Both were great, their coffee is wonderful! I also tasted my dad's americano, AMAZING. My brother and husband don't really drink coffee so to them it wasn't their kind of spot. Regardless it has a wonderful environment to socialize with friends. P.S. THEY HAVE A DRIVE THRU!!!! And take Apple/Google pay. All the things."
"I'm going to say it... their beignets here is better than the other known location in the French Quarter. The line is already more bearable. We got to the front within 10mins and beignets in hand 5mins after we order. The beignets are bigger, lighter and not doughy/thick!There are seatings in front, in front of the cashier and there's a dining room next to the front room. In a few days in the area, we stopped by 2x."
"Gosh this was a hard review to write or even number. The employees are nice and friendly and I love the ambience. It's got a great outdoors area with tables and is just such a fun place. However, the two things I tried did not make me a fan. And that's the problem. I started out with the mushroom sandwich and I'd have loved it (I think) except for the peppers. As in hot peppers, and the menu doesn't say that there are peppers. Excited for my mouth catching for I really like the sandwich. So when I returned it I had to come up with something I wanted to eat. That just was such a compromise that I didn't like it. And we had to adjust it because of my being pescatarian. So it was doomed to failure. They do have some cool breakfast items and I plan to come back and will revisit this review then."
"We took a stroll here for coffee and ended up ordering the crawfish melt and quiche as well. It was amazing! Highly recommend this place to break away from the canal st and French quarter tourist crowd. The place has plenty of sitting area to hang out."
"Satsuma is one of my favorite breakfast places in the city. There coffee is perfection! The food offering range from healthy to decadent with my favorites being the green sandwich and brunch specials like todays with pork and potato hash with lots of veggies, topped with two eggs and a big biscuit with homemade jam. Always a treat but nourishing too."
"Cafe Du Monde....this place is a treasure to New Orleans. Having a plate full of beignets in front of your face dusted up with powdered sugar...who can beat that??!! When I lived in the area, this was a go-to for many years, either at their French Quarter location or at the Oakwood Mall in the Westbank. After Sophia and I myself had lunch minutes away, we drove here for some goodies. Just like all the other locations, we got in line to place our orders. And it was very quick. I ordered the usual: beignets dusted with powdered sugar and frozen cafe au lait. And just like other times, the food was really good. The beignets were hot and soft and of course, plenty of powdered sugar. Frozen cafe au lait....say no more. The vibe inside was very chill and the decor was spotless. Plenty of chairs for seating, even for a group of 8. I even got full from the previous lunch I gave my last beignet to Sophia. Can't waste good food like this....ha!!A really nice treat. The next time we come back for the Holidays, we'll be sure to stop by. Till next time :)"
"Avenue Cafe is a great local coffee shop. You can sit enjoy your food an people watch or grab and go. They offer an nice selection of breakfast items and pastries. I give them bonus points for offering a vegan bagel sandwich that is very tasty! Pro tip: there is only one restroom so if seeing folks line up to use the facilities is annoying to you, don't sit near the coffee station because you will have a prime seat to anxious folks doing the pee-pee dance."
"Best red beans and rice, gumbo, and beignets we have had in NOLA! The place looks like a classic 50s diner - so cute. And the food the simple, delicious and cheap! Cash only and service will take a while so be patient with them. We will be back!"

Our second visit to this cute shop, last time it was a highlight of our trip. We got Gelato, mine was in the form of an affogato (Gelato topped with espresso and if desired, whipped ccream). My affogato was even better this time, I chose chocolate Gelato. So delicious. My boyfriend got stracciatella (Italian chocolate chip) Gelato. They were both delicious. We grabbed some pastries to go including a cannoli (filled fresh and adorned with pistachios) sfogliatella (flaky pastry filled with a creamy filling and citrus) and a strawberry Napoleon (new to me). The service is great, they carefully packed the box and brought the affogato out to the table as well. It's liked you've stepped back in time when you're inside. Cute little twisted metal ice cream parlor table and chairs. They also sell packaged Italian cookies and sweets to go.

Ok, we wnt during Essence fest so the wait was long! The system to get people in and out was efficenr and the staff were super friendly and apologetic. The food...the food was so good! We had the catfish, gluten free, with grits. I wanted to order another order but I. I was full. 2. I had no where to store it. 3. I was being plain greedy. Lol! I just loved it and I am incredibly picky over fried fish. The place is very small so keep that in mind, you fellow diners are close and that affects the wait time.

EDIT : so it dawned on me late in the night that maybe this is more of a local owned spot(that's good if so) that isn't taking to tourists or travelers and perhaps they don't want a certain element so they're more aggressively unwelcoming to new faces. And I can get that! Here's the review before the above Awareness dropped: The beautiful concierge at the hotel recommended I walk the 17 min to this new espresso bar. It was nice out, chilly enough for a brisk walk. All the people along the walk were interactive and fun and the energy shifted when I walked into Envie. I had to write a review because I regret going in there. The girl with the floppy lavender hair just stared at me flatly while I excitedly asked about the menu. ZERO energy and I'd even later realize it was negative energy as she was able to feign a smiley voice for the other guests - but all she could do with me was give me glares as if I historically harmed her or something. It was weird. But in the candy store up the street I noticed another lady who acted like I didn't exist as she picked pralines right next to where I was choosing them. Sooo.. I walked back wondering if there was some racial tension here in NOLA. I'm indigenous to America so I'm always confused when people who recently settled here are rude or nasty to me based only on appearance. Nonetheless I ordered. I made my own sandwich panini .. the prosciutto was hard so the quality wasn't that great and the Brie was nonexistent. I think those with the bacon jam would've been delicious but they were cheap on the more expensive ingredients like cheese.. and melted cheese makes a panini. The hash brown side was cold bland and probably frozen and just microwaved. I was starving. Had been fasting since yesterday while traveling to get here to eat something delicious. The cook was kind. Mostly the workers look lifeless dead in the eyes and long in the face. Just miserable. And non responsive to cheerfulness. And color seemed to annoy their bland landscape. The coffee was delicious. Got the kings cake cocktail hot. Haven't had coffee in a month and it was work it. 31$ for that panini, cold hash, and coffee. $1.05 to top off with chicory There are nicer places with nicer people and we need to reward places that are happy to see all customers not certain ones over others. Hope mgmt sees this post and reflects on what all that was. Chef was nice to me when he delivered plate. Toxic workplace vibes.

Beignets were pretty good, definitely a little bit different in terms of more dense, doughy but if your craving a Beignet in a pitch-- this is will do the trick! 3 a piece- enough to share! 1 is definitely big enough per person! Breakfast sandwich was ok.. croissant or bagel, which was fresh! Don't get the coffee. It wasn't worth it, go across the street to French Truck Coffee !

We enjoyed a nice casual brunch here. You order and pay at the counter and thet bring you your food and drinks and you bus your own dishes when done. The green sandwich was tasty and comes on your choice of a bagel, croissant or toast. The lemon lavender pancakes were so delicious and they were veey generous with the lemon curd. We did not even need the pancake syrup since the curd was so tasty in itself. The cinammon brown sugar latte was pretty but not sweet enough for me. They do have a section with milk and sugar etc. if you need to doctor your drinks. Others in our group got the breakfast plate, thr breakfast burrito, and the cuban sandwich. All were satisfied with the food and portion sizes.

"They have a delicious breakfast biscuit sandwich here! The vibe is super cozy with a cat sleeping next to a grandma who is knitting near the entrance!Solid iced coffee and hot coffee as well."
"I stopped by on my way home just for a small chat, colossal mugs, a coffee cup and 3 beignets. It was pouring out so this is the best pick me up for me! I've always liked any of the locations because the service is always great. No matter who helps you, you're for sure get some sort of special story. The next day my car was full of powered sugar!!"
"Oh. My. Goodness! This place. The food, the service, the cleanliness, everything was amazing. This is a order at the window and the food will be brought to you type place. They had fantastic daily specials which I'm always a sucker for. And they place tons of paper table liners on the table so you have a fresh and clean surface when you're seated. I ordered the Cra Cra daily special which was a salad with salmon, dried cranberries, goat cheese, almonds and an amazing homemade poppyseed dressing. It was out of this world! To drink I ordered the rosemary cucumber lemonade and was wowed by the flavor! This place is a must try!!!"
"4/18/2022 I've been going to district for years strictly for donuts and coffee which they've mastered beautifully. I decided hey it's time to try out breakfast. I chose the hot honey buttered chicken biscuit. At first glance I wasn't sure how I was going to conquer this delicious massive sandwich in front of me. So I cut it in half and proceeded to dive in. The chicken was seasoned and fried so well. Warning it is a chicken thigh and not a chicken breast so it is darker meat. I had no issues with it. The biscuit was amazing think church's biscuit but way bigger and loads more of butter and honey with a kick of heat. It wasn't to spicy but the spice was still there. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and when I'm ready hungry I'd get it again."
"Yummy but pricey, just be aware and make peace with it before you go and just let it happen. Food: The waffles are what everyone says they are, perfect. Light, deep, accepting. I had the maple bacon. The breakfast sampler was okay--if I go again, will skip it and just get a side of the bacon. Whatever part of the pig it comes from must be the happiest part because it is thick and meaty and sweet and absolute heaven. Service was so good. Thank you, Devin!Ambience also good, but when the place started to fill up it got really loud. Less a star because the menu is via QR code. If you're going to charge me $15 for one waffle, please give me the sticker shock on paper ha."

"Went for a quick bite to eat. Almost empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. We got there right about 11 so their lunch menu just started. I got the chicken sliders and waffle fries. It was delicious! It cost $11 and you get two sliders with a good size pice of fried chicken tender, seasoned very well I might add. It also had a sweet savory slaw and pickled jalapeños. All the flavors together just made it very very good. There were plenty of waffle fries too!!! My boyfriend got the sliders as well but with the angus hamburger patties. He said they were very good but I think he was jealous of mine . I got a large iced mocha latte as well and it did not disappoint! We also ordered a cookie as we were not in the mood for their delightful donuts. That cookie didn't even get a picture it was so good! We ate it before our food even arrived. Very great visit as always! Looking forward to the next one!"
"Took a trolley ride to find some coffee. The cashier was helpful in choosing. Tasted good to me. And strong just the way I like it."
"Cute little coffee shop with tables to sit and enjoy your cup or work. Service was friendly. The coffee was great and they made great thin but gooey chocolate chip cookies. Love them."
"Stopped in just for coffee. Great service! The lady was super helpful and made 2 amazing coffees. I'd definitely comeback."
"The food was perfectly prepared and seasoned. Four of us ordered different items and they were all superb. The group handout was the Shrimp and Grits. It made your eyes roll back and made you moan. The atmosphere cozy and eccentric. It server was attentive but not intrusive. When asked. He made perfect recommendations. Oh yeah, get an Irish coffee."
"I come here just for the burritos! So it isn't the biggest breakfast burrito I've had for $5-$6 (with the sauce), but it is so good! Must get the hot sauce with it, which is an up-charge. I had the bacon burrito a couple of weeks ago and thought about getting this one ever since. Every time I have been to Mojo's there is a line. However, I do think the line moves at a decent pace. There are typically a lot of people sitting/working at tables, so I don't really stay too long or do my computer work here. I prefer a place with a little more lighting."
"Beautiful little coffee shop! We strolled in because we were staying right across the street, love the walkable area all around here! We got a Cinnamon Toast Crunch iced latte which my daughter loved! It was creamy and sweet and did taste just like the cereal! I got a cappuccino which was perfect, great flavor and I added a touch of sugar and yum, delicious! We got an everything bagel pastry like a croissant stuffed with cream cheese also very tasty, eating in their cute shop with plants all around, made me happy!"
"The salmon toast. That is all! It's delicious and very filling! Service is always great whenever I'm there and it's a chill family oriented spot. Can't go wrong with this spot!"
"Got breakfast from here one morning while in vacation since it was right by our rental. Was pretty good. We just picked up so I can't really say much else but service was good."
"Highland Coffees on Chimes Street in Baton Rouge takes the art of flavored coffee to an entirely new level, offering a delightful experience that captivates the senses with every sip. The shop features a variety of exceptional coffee flavors, each one more unique and indulgent than the last. For those who enjoy a touch of sweetness and spice, the Cinnamon Swirl coffee is an absolute must-try--rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of cinnamon, making it feel like a warm hug in a cup. If you're craving something a bit more decadent, the Chocolate Macadamia coffee is a heavenly combination of smooth, velvety chocolate and rich macadamia flavor, creating a truly indulgent treat that feels like dessert in a mug. These specialty coffees are just the beginning, with many more exciting flavors to explore that cater to every palate, ensuring there's something for everyone. But it's not just about the coffee at Highland Coffees. The bakery offerings are just as exceptional. The bagels are perfectly toasted and come with a variety of spreads, making them a savory delight to accompany your coffee. For those with a sweet tooth, the custom-made pastries are something to rave about, and the shop is especially known for its cheesecake. Each cheesecake is a masterpiece--smooth, creamy, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness, making it the ultimate indulgence for dessert lovers."
"This coffee place a bit removed from downtown New Orleans offers a small market with produce and some house beverages in robust tall boy cans that seem like more than anyone should be drinking at one time. Their fresh pastries and beverage options were robust, with most special dietary needs covered. I got their version of a pop tart, and a chai. I was reassured that I wasn't the only one there ordering a chai. Both items were very sweet, and I saw someone hauling bags of Domino's sugar in. The overall flavor of the chai, however was excellent, and I liked my fruity pastry as well. It's likely a quick stop on the way to somewhere else, though there were a few places to sit. Ordering online in advance seemed wise as I did have to wait a bit."
"The coffee is delicious and they have many options... we just went for a regular black coffee and it was perfect. We ordered the bbq shrimp and grits, they were cheesy and came with pieces of bacon. It was one of the most delicious grits dishes that we've ever had. We also had the firecracker burger with 5-cheese mac and cheese on the side... we said we were not going to eat it all but it was sooooo good that we did. The bread was extremely delicious. The atmosphere was relaxed and quiet but we were also the only ones on a Wednesday at 3pm. Something that we noticed is that the place is a bit dusty. They have a lot of art (canvas) that could be dusted."
"The manager, Dominick, reached out to me to rectify the situation. He did not make excuses for the staff and in turn, noted how they can better train the staff. He offered me replacement coffees (and more) of what I initially bought and after some discussion, we came to the conclusion that it's the EBR teachers that can use some freshly ground City Roots Coffee. So he donated freshly ground coffee and swags to our favorite teachers. Dominick went above and beyond to make up for the services that I initially received. Their coffees are really great and I am confident I won't be disappointed with the service on my next visit."
"We stop here as often as we can. We live an hour away and it never disappoints! We are convinced that they make the absolute best pancakes in the world! They don't even need syrup! My husband loves their Philly cheesesteak. We usually order a bunch of diner staples and just share everything since it's too hard to decide. The club sandwich with fries always hits the spot. Eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. Can we talk about the pancakes? Just downright deliciousness. This batter is homemade and tastes of vanilla, buttermilk and we can't get enough of them. We also love their patty melt. I don't think that you can go wrong with any dish from here. The servers are always the nicest and it's such a cute diner!"
"Churros Cafe! I finally do a review on this place. One of the best Cuban places in Metairie. I grew up coming here because it is right next door to my dad's shop, and from an early age, I loved getting their homemade churros. As I got older, I ventured out into their other dishes and found one of my absolute favorites, the Chori Pan. It's a sandwich that is simple, but delicious. It's made with chorizo and Swiss cheese and it's also got an amazing sauce on it. They press it flat and grill it to perfection until all of the cheese is melted and it's ooey gooey and savory. Perfect thing for me to order ahead on the ride home from work and enjoy in their small, eclectic dining room. Vivian and Jose have done this right for over two decades now, I believe. Here's to many more to come for Churros Cafe! Outstanding! Cheers!"
"My sister and I walked in & immediately was freezing, so we decided to sit outside. Well it was cold there too, but the owners came to put the heaters on.... but then they were out of propane!! Y'all why did the boss go to the gas stations to purchase propane for us to use the heaters!!!! That was EXTREMELY kind!! Food 10/10 and our server was just great as well.We will definitely be back!!"
"I mean the food I ordered was delicious. The service was awesome. He was patient while I decided. Inside dining is very 50's hamburger /soda shop."
