"Delicious matzo ball soup!! Highly recommend. I was under the weather and there for a conference and this soup saved me!"
"This was the best little find! We needed a quick bite before heading to a wedding because well, you aren't really sure how good wedding food is gonna be no matter how good the blissful couple's intentions are!! It was their wedding but also our baecation so we needed it to be QUICK AND GOOD! We called 10-15 min out and ordered a fried shrimp po boy all the way with the fixings except no hot peppers. Id done my research so i knew a whole would be plenty for he and I. We arrive and its the cutest little spot. It was mid Monday afternoon and parking was easy but definitely limited around the shop itself but plenty of street parking in surrounding area and its near a college/university as well. Walking the shop they have EVERYTHING you could want with your sandwich from bottled can drinks both non and alcoholic and snacks GALORE! One thing I had been doing is collecting little LA specific goodies as we visited different gas stations or stores in our time in Lafayette. They had fried hand pies and ginger cakes. Those were dessert for what was one of THE best po boys Ive ever had! The shrimp were plentiful, plump, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. The bread was soft and the toppings fresh! Maybe a lil creole mustard would have taken it up a notch but it was solid and a LOT of sandwich for the price! We added a bag of Doritos cook ranch and some drinks and life was swell! Definitely if you want to try a po boy this is a solid spot. They have a fried catfish po boy they only offer on Fridays we would have loved that one, especially if the batter is the same as what it was for the fish. Sorry no pictures to share, half of it didnt make it to the hotel and the other I was tight on time to consume and still get ready in time for the wedding. Bon a petit'!"

"One word Delish!! I live here but it took my company from California to find this spot. Get the shrimp. Oh so good"
"Came to NOLA for an extended fun birthday weekend. We couldn't find this place, drove around the block to find out that it literally was behind us when we parked! Nathan was our bartender. Great service! Mac made our food. OMG...Soooo good! The seasoning on the sweet potato fries was so good that I didn't put any ketchup on them. The sample with poutin balls, jalepeño poppers, hot wings, and mozzarella sticks. We ended with the alligator poboy. Again, it's so flavorful! This is a small, dark bar. It's cozy and not pretentious at all. Just what our weary selves needed. Relax, eat, drink, and chat with folks at the bar.Definitely check it out."
"Yelp Review 2024 #55:A few years ago after seeing Domilise on the Food Network, I tried coming here assuming they're open on a Sunday. I remember it was raining and I was staying in the French Quarter area - good thing my friend lived in New Orleans and drove me around.Fast forward to a few years later, I finally got to try what Alex Guarnaschelli was raving about. The place is old, small, laidback but a very good representation of New Orleans: no need for anything fancy, just proudly telling its story and culture. A few tables and chairs and it's ok to share your table with a stranger or two. It gets busy and crowded here. If that's too much for you, you can always take your food to-go but eat it quickly. The ordering process is pretty simple. You look at the menu if you didn't look it up ahead of time, go to the counter to place your order and pay, and wait about 20 minutes for your food. The service was friendly. My original idea was to try their shrimp po boy, oyster po boy, and a roast beef po boy. But that's a lot of food for one person. Time to narrow my choice. I'm not a huge fan of oysters so, there goes the oyster po boy. I hear a lot of good things about the shrimp po boy but I was craving beef since I've been eating seafood in NOLA. But towards the bottom of the menu, it says "Surf n Turf" - roast beef po boy with shrimp! No need to choose. I can have both! Next dilemma was whether or not to get fries. Fried potatoes is always a good idea but what if it's too much food?It did end up being too much food. So, my trick was take off the buns on one half of the sandwich and stack everything into one massive sandwich. It was messy, hard to eat and required a lot of napkins but I had space for my fries! The Surf n Turf Po Boy was a very good call. The beef was juicy and tender, the shrimp was lightly battered and crunchy with great flavors.Their sandwiches come in 2 sizes: small and large. They have soda, alcohol, etc to wash it all down. You'll leave full and completely satisfied for under $25."
"These have to be the biggest and freshest beignets that I've had. I like these better than Cafe Du Monde. They come in orders of 3 but I shared with a neighbor as I wasn't going to be able to eat all of them.Delicious and priced right."
"Pretty tasty pizza. They are really nice and the pie came out relatively quickly. It's clean and can tell that they take pride in keeping in clean in here. I would definitely come back here."
"Great little coffee shop in the French Quarter with both inside and outside seating. The cappuccino, as well as the food, is excellent. Delicious desserts. Friendly staff. A great place to relax and people watch."
"A friend suggested this place as a stop off for dinner after a late flight in. Great selection. It has a quirky vibe along with modern technology (like kiosk ordering). Nice daiquiris and excellent poboys. As for the specifics on the roast beef poboy, plenty of tasty roast beef, but it could have used more gravy. That's was the only thing I could suggest to improve the sandwich. They have a literacy campaign they highly publicize inside. Nice community involvement there. Now, add the laundromat inside, and you have to admit it's a truly unique business. The dining side has a patio as well as inside seating, so depending on the weather you can make yourself as comfy as you like."
"Okay, yes this is a COFFEE shop. If you are expecting Starbucks drinks that are more sugar and a drop of coffee you will probably have to express that to the barista, otherwise you will get a true coffee! I ordered an iced coffee with a pump of SF mocha and also a hot drip coffee. Both were great, their coffee is wonderful! I also tasted my dad's americano, AMAZING. My brother and husband don't really drink coffee so to them it wasn't their kind of spot. Regardless it has a wonderful environment to socialize with friends. P.S. THEY HAVE A DRIVE THRU!!!! And take Apple/Google pay. All the things."
"I'm going to say it... their beignets here is better than the other known location in the French Quarter. The line is already more bearable. We got to the front within 10mins and beignets in hand 5mins after we order. The beignets are bigger, lighter and not doughy/thick!There are seatings in front, in front of the cashier and there's a dining room next to the front room. In a few days in the area, we stopped by 2x."
"I go for breakfast with friends. I eat my feelings there. I ordered a bunch of things to try, now I only order one thing, over and over again. I feel happy, I order it, then I'm happier. I feel sad, I feel happier and not guilty. The Queen of the menu for me is the Baked Eggs in Brioche. The perfect amount of butter, cream with eggs within house baked brioche. Oh thank you to all and any god of present or past times. This is the nicest coziest breakfast that just makes you feel like you've been whisked off to a Parisian Cafe. It comes with a little cup of season fruits and paired with a cup of coffee it is the perfect breakfast in my humble opinion. However, their quiche wedges are a solid second for me too. Everything is delicious and having tried a sampling of their dessert and pastry platters, I can say, lots of love is put into every bite at Tartine"

Love love love. Definitely community deli, the food quality unreal. The everything bagel is great they are very generous with the cream cheese. Ordered a fresh orange juice, and wonderful. And the BLT was made with the most delicious bread I have ever tasted and crispy bacon. Would recommend over and over. Next time will come and taste their variety of beers, they have several fridges with a wide section for all tastes.

Welcome to a temple where the gods of flavor gather to bless your taste buds with something extraordinary. It's like that one friend who shows up at the party and immediately makes everyone wonder why they haven't been hanging out together all along. Crack Fries; is there some illegal substance hidden in there? Nope, it's just pure magic that's impossible to stop eating. Seriously, I think I blacked out after my first bite and woke up with an empty basket and a new addiction. It's like your favorite cozy sweater had a baby with a gourmet meal, and they decided to run off to Paris and live happily ever after. I had a spiritual moment thinking, "Am I even worthy of this?" The short ribs will more than meat your expectations, and holy shrimp...like biting into a little ocean of flavor; p sure this is what the Founding Fathers meant when they said "pursuit of happiness." Banh Mi Boys has completely redefined what it means to eat food.

Heavens, what can be said about this place. It is an experience beyond all lunch places imaginableIt was so packed and chaotic that one could hardly move. Everyone kept an even cheerful tone, both employees and patrons. The crush of arriving people, however, had a line out the door. They eventually stopped taking orders to catch up with the meal preparation. You now enter on a side door, order at the bar and pick up when they call you name in the prep area.I ordered a large po' boy half with shrimp and half with oysters. Accompanying it I got a bag of chips and a root beer.It took a considerable time to get it due to the backup of orders, but they did their very best to move it along. The po' boy was excellent, the shrimp and oysters absolutely delicious with the dressing in exceptional bread. The meal itself was such a treat, and although the chaos annoying, it was worth it.I happen to like these po' boys over the ones at Parkway, but it's a matter of personal taste, similar to Coke or Pepsi. This is a hole in the wall place but well worth a visit, or two, or more.

I've never had a beignet before but let me say I'm hooked. Fried bread with powdered sugar is so simple but they do it great here at cafe Beignet. The counter employee's and the wait staff made this experience really special. The 3 piece band was playing local jazz and sent a lively mood throughout the place. Liked the design and atmosphere immediately upon entering. Very old school New Orleans. If you like cafés this is the stop for you. We all enjoyed our coffee and hot chocolate drinks. They have a fully stocked bar here as well if you want a place to get a drink. They have many specialty drinks to choose from. I'll be back to visit and enjoy all Cafe Beignet has to offer when I get back to visit New Orleans again.

EDIT : so it dawned on me late in the night that maybe this is more of a local owned spot(that's good if so) that isn't taking to tourists or travelers and perhaps they don't want a certain element so they're more aggressively unwelcoming to new faces. And I can get that! Here's the review before the above Awareness dropped: The beautiful concierge at the hotel recommended I walk the 17 min to this new espresso bar. It was nice out, chilly enough for a brisk walk. All the people along the walk were interactive and fun and the energy shifted when I walked into Envie. I had to write a review because I regret going in there. The girl with the floppy lavender hair just stared at me flatly while I excitedly asked about the menu. ZERO energy and I'd even later realize it was negative energy as she was able to feign a smiley voice for the other guests - but all she could do with me was give me glares as if I historically harmed her or something. It was weird. But in the candy store up the street I noticed another lady who acted like I didn't exist as she picked pralines right next to where I was choosing them. Sooo.. I walked back wondering if there was some racial tension here in NOLA. I'm indigenous to America so I'm always confused when people who recently settled here are rude or nasty to me based only on appearance. Nonetheless I ordered. I made my own sandwich panini .. the prosciutto was hard so the quality wasn't that great and the Brie was nonexistent. I think those with the bacon jam would've been delicious but they were cheap on the more expensive ingredients like cheese.. and melted cheese makes a panini. The hash brown side was cold bland and probably frozen and just microwaved. I was starving. Had been fasting since yesterday while traveling to get here to eat something delicious. The cook was kind. Mostly the workers look lifeless dead in the eyes and long in the face. Just miserable. And non responsive to cheerfulness. And color seemed to annoy their bland landscape. The coffee was delicious. Got the kings cake cocktail hot. Haven't had coffee in a month and it was work it. 31$ for that panini, cold hash, and coffee. $1.05 to top off with chicory There are nicer places with nicer people and we need to reward places that are happy to see all customers not certain ones over others. Hope mgmt sees this post and reflects on what all that was. Chef was nice to me when he delivered plate. Toxic workplace vibes.

"I can remember coming to Middendorf's as a kid when my Dad brought our family to eat here. It is kind of in the middle of nowhere and I remember good seafood in an old building next to the water. The last time I dined here was about 20 years ago before my dinner last Thursday night. I was on the fence to come here because I think during my last visit I decided I wasn't a fan of their thin fried catfish. I have changed my mind.I ordered the large version of their thin fried catfish meal for $19 and it came with fries, hush puppies and fries. On the night of my visit the restaurant had a nice dinner crowd there with about a 5-10 minute wait for a table in this large multi room restaurant. They even had an accordion player in one dining room entertaining the guests. My meal arrived about 10 minutes after ordering and it looked quite large. I received 5 or 6 pieces of fish, two large hush puppies, fries and cole slaw in a separate container. The fish was delicious. Lightly breaded and with plenty of meat the fillets were so light tasting and almost like eating tender potato chips. They were very good. The hush puppies were thick in their cornmeal texture and flavorful and filling. They were quality hush puppies not often found nowadays. I liked the well cooked fries and the cole slaw was perfect as a palate cleanser. This meal was very good and I couldn't finish it all wishing that I had ordered the smaller version of the meal.Middendorf's is kind of a Louisiana institution with a unique and decorative interior and a seafood centric menu with their famous thin fried catfish. Strongly consider eating here especially if you are driving by on I-55."
"This is a local restaurant with in and outside dining. Everything is well maintained and the toilets are clean. The fried jalapeños is a good appetizer to get. The batter really clung, making them all crunchy. We only got one little thing of ranch, two would have been best.We got the seafood platter and a soft shell crab. Everything had lots of batter making for a crunch. The crab, oysters, and something unidentifiable was a little too under cooked for my preference.Everyone here seems local nice and friendly.Foutunefishco.net made a delivery as we left."
"Best only I have had in NOLA.the soft shell crab and their signature poboys were amazing. And their onion straws/rings were amazing too!"
"Ok Yelpers, this is officially my top choice for a fully dressed roast beef or french fry with roast beef debris poboy in the New Orleans area. Oh man, the perfect blend of mayo, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and Leidenheimer French bread. There is Louisiana hot sauce and Tabasco on the table. The waitresses will gladly bring out extra gravy if you ask. The only problem is the wait, it took 40 minutes after we ordered to get our food. There is a sign on the wall stating the possible long wait during peak hours. By this time my glass Barqs root beer was not cold. So use the supplied paper towels at your table cause you'll need them. Enjoy! Eat local."
"I crave and continue to crave this muffaletta from Alberto's. Yes, I've tried all of the others in NOLA and this one far surpasses all others. Adding on the sangria of the day and you have the best lunch in the French Quarter."
"Avenue Cafe is a great local coffee shop. You can sit enjoy your food an people watch or grab and go. They offer an nice selection of breakfast items and pastries. I give them bonus points for offering a vegan bagel sandwich that is very tasty! Pro tip: there is only one restroom so if seeing folks line up to use the facilities is annoying to you, don't sit near the coffee station because you will have a prime seat to anxious folks doing the pee-pee dance."
"We arrived 7pm on a Friday night. We were greeted immediately by a friendly host who had us seated within a few minutes at our requested area , outside. This is where the live music is performed. I thought the outdoor area would be too warm but they had fans going and sitting at the table was comfortable. We ordered iced tea which was served in very large clear plastic tumblers. I want to guess they were at least 24 oz The service was quick and friendly. We got the wrong appetizer Ordered Mac n cheese with crawfish but got fried pickles. We were so surprised at how tasty the fried pickles were. Actually preferred them over the Mac n cheese. We ordered the soft shell crab over linguini and crawfish. It was good, a lot of food. The two piece band played hank Williams and folksy type tunes."
"I cannot give this place enough stars. The name seems so mundane, like it's a little sandwich shop, but it is so much more. We're visiting from out of town, and stumbled upon it on our way out and it was probably some of the best food I've ever had: just totally fresh, well made, thought out, and delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We want to come back and eat again and again, but sadly, we'll have to wait until the next time we come through. Highly recommend."
"The pizza here is exceptional... owner is doing something right for sure. Nola is not really known for its pizza game but this place without a doubt makes the cut. Service has been good and atmosphere is easy. (Wings are hittin' too!)"
"Oh. My. Goodness! This place. The food, the service, the cleanliness, everything was amazing. This is a order at the window and the food will be brought to you type place. They had fantastic daily specials which I'm always a sucker for. And they place tons of paper table liners on the table so you have a fresh and clean surface when you're seated. I ordered the Cra Cra daily special which was a salad with salmon, dried cranberries, goat cheese, almonds and an amazing homemade poppyseed dressing. It was out of this world! To drink I ordered the rosemary cucumber lemonade and was wowed by the flavor! This place is a must try!!!"
"Went for a quick bite to eat. Almost empty when we arrived but filled up quickly. We got there right about 11 so their lunch menu just started. I got the chicken sliders and waffle fries. It was delicious! It cost $11 and you get two sliders with a good size pice of fried chicken tender, seasoned very well I might add. It also had a sweet savory slaw and pickled jalapeños. All the flavors together just made it very very good. There were plenty of waffle fries too!!! My boyfriend got the sliders as well but with the angus hamburger patties. He said they were very good but I think he was jealous of mine . I got a large iced mocha latte as well and it did not disappoint! We also ordered a cookie as we were not in the mood for their delightful donuts. That cookie didn't even get a picture it was so good! We ate it before our food even arrived. Very great visit as always! Looking forward to the next one!"
"Saw this place on man vs food so we wanted to try it. The poboys were ok. Grilled shrimp didn't have much flavor and the fried oysters were a little floury tasting. We also got hush puppies with a sweet butter and tartar sauce. The sauces were nice. Our daughter got the kids fried shrimp basket and those were really nice. I would have given 3 stars if the staff wasn't so nice."
"Cute little coffee shop with tables to sit and enjoy your cup or work. Service was friendly. The coffee was great and they made great thin but gooey chocolate chip cookies. Love them."
"I got the Meaux Jeaux pizza and it was very good. It is located at one end of a tiny strip mall. If you are dining in, seat yourself. No reusable utensils, beverages come in the original packaging."
"The salmon toast. That is all! It's delicious and very filling! Service is always great whenever I'm there and it's a chill family oriented spot. Can't go wrong with this spot!"
"Cool place to eat, good service. Got a burger and chill cheese fries and checked out the game."
"Because lunch, dinner, and a snack during the daytime is never enough for us, we ordered from Fresco late night during our stay in NOLA to top everything off for the day. I could personally order pizza every day for a year probably but my GF is more civilized and on this particular occasion we decided to go the pasta route. We ordered pesto pasta, a veggie wrap, and spinach and feta triangles. The pesto was tasty with a touch of cream in the sauce. The pasta could have been more al dente but ultimately I can never go wrong with pesto. Scattered roasted red pepper strips added some variety. I adored the veggie wrap with hummus, roasted red peppers, roasted eggplant, baby spinach, kalamata olives, and feta which with the sundried tomato mayo was decadent and creamy and paired perfectly surrounded by a soft and warm pita. GF for some reason wasn't a fan which escapes my comprehension. I was way too stuffed to finish the whole thing which is a big regret for me. The actual best dish of the meal was their spinach and feta triangles with sauteed spinach and feta cheese stuffed into phyllo dough. The filling was DELICIOUS and the dough was perfectly crisp. I would order these regularly if I lived in the area. Very solid late night delivery spot."
"Had some time to kill in the area and needed to eat something. Stopped in and ordered a Shrimp Pooboy, hush puppies and fries. Massive portions! Everything was excellent and delicious. Restaurant is small but cozy and nice. I could see it getting crowded real quick though"
"They do trivia, take home cup days, allow dog, have front and back patio, and plenty of TVs. It can get loud but the atmosphere is great when a big event or holiday comes. Giving it a 3 because I am not a fan of the noise level and they make you buy fries separate with a burger. I always have a reason so meet here but I never pick it as my first choice of bar."
"The "Swiss Shroom" (Mushroom Swiss) burger is hands down the absolute BEST mushroom Swiss I have ever had in my life! Not bland like others. But be careful, it's addictive if you like mushroom Swiss burgers! Just finished one and I'm already thinking of when I can get the next one. Service was AWESOME too!! An all around GREAT experience!"
"I had such a nice lunch today at Good Bird. I ordered the Sue Bird salad, and added chicken. The salad was delicious, and I could tell the ingredients used were of excellent quality. The sweet potatoes were perfectly cooked - tender and sweet, the goat cheese was rich and tangy, and the chicken was fork tender. The space is bright, cheery, and you can speak in normal tones. Really sweet spot."
"We had just made it into town..... it had been a long day so we decided to door dash. The food arrived quickly. It was very tasty and well plated especially for a ride across town to the hotel! He got the K town Fries and I got the Loco Moco. I wish there had been some black pepper with the utensils for the gravy but honestly the mix in mine of the egg spam and meat was fantastic alone I just really like a little more spice. Also got the wontons which were fabulous!"
"I had the grill chicken po boy with side of hush puppies! Love their food. They also have great gumbo . I had a take out order but the service was great and I didn't have to wait very long. Nice family restaurant for kids and adults."
