I was so happy Wishing Town was open on Bacchus Sunday- we were so tired and famished from the daytime parades! We had the pork dumplings, beef and onion dumplings, noodles with chicken, a spicy beef salad, and a dumpling soup. We sat outside which was nice and the service was good considering they were probably short staffed. Prices are so reasonable too!

Great place to get dim sum and dumplings in New Orleans! They have a very large menu with authentic Chinese food. I got three items from their dumpling menu and I was satisfied with the portion sizes and most importantly it tasted amazing. A small complaint that I had was it was hard taking out the Chumber from the Little aluminum plate but other than that my favorite was the shrimp dragon dumpling! I love the outdoor seating and I would come back.

I enjoyed this experience.. and dim sum! This was such a tasty and affordable treat. Firstly, the menu is HUGE with a variety of starters (DEF get the spicy cucumber), dumplings, soups, clay pots, and noodles. The spicy wonton soup was amazing!! The dumpling wrappers are fresh and the perfect level of Al dente. We had the beef clay pot which was flavorful land full of meat beef and veggies, if you want something more protein-based. We dined in, and I loved their cool system of pressing the call button at your table to get service. Very efficient and nifty. This is officially now my go-to dumpling spot!

We came here for dim sum on a Sunday's morning as it was recommended and kids friendly. It was rather quiet so we found parking quickly. Restaurant looked like it was a house which fit into the decor of the neighborhood. Huge patio outside; we sat inside. We got the soup dumpling, friend pork dumpling roll, spicy dumpling soup, jelly and cucumber salad, sticky rice in lotus leaf, rainbow Mille crepes, Japanese cheesecake and a matcha tea mill crepes. Portion was good and expected of what a dim sum would be. Everything was fresh delicious and tasty. Food came out promptly after we ordered. The kids are picky about their sticky rice and ate all of it. It was the one thing I didn't try. The cakes were got were delicious and beautifully presentation. Everything came to less than $90 with tips. I would recommend and will come back if/when in the area.

I was able to try the Wishingtown location on Magazine street recently and I thought this location had a greater and more diverse menu option compared to their Metairie location. I tried their Teriyaki Chicken claypot and it comes with baos on the side to eat with and I found the food to be decent. They also have dim sum on the menu and hope to try it out one day. The location is quite big and they both have indoor and outdoor seating and food was made pretty quickly.

Overall, this location is more enjoyable than the one in Metairie (the outdoor seating is nice when the weather is nice). Warning: the food takes a while to make (at least 20-30 mins) and I think there's only 1 worker in the kitchen. We got the soup dumplings, mini steamed buns, scallop dumplings, spicy wonton soup, and the spicy seafood soup. Our favorites were the spicy seafood soup and the spicy wonton soup; however, both could've used some more flavor. The soup dumplings were just average (there's better in the city). The scallop dumplings were not our taste... very fishy and odd taste-- would not recommend. Overall, good place to try if you're craving dumplings, but not the best in terms of taste, quality, or worth in my opinion.

The uptown location is really pretty, if you sit outside. I think it is a cool date spot, and/or having a nice intimate dinner with friends and family. The staff are super friendly and has an overall warm atmosphere. They even allow pets outside. In terms of food, my favorite was the soup dumpling, and my group ordered most items off the menu. There was a beef onion dish that was pretty good. The other items, like the hot pot and shrimp pops, were ok. I think this place is a bit pricey for dim sum but I kind of understand because you're paying for the overall experience. My favorite of the night was the taro cheesecake. That was stellar! It was light and not too sweet. I also liked the touch of rainbow at the top. I would come back for the desserts.

Food safety alert. We ordered 2 different kinds of dumplings tonight through DoorDash. In the beef dumplings, there were one piece of clear hard plastic in one dumpling and one piece of a chewy object in another dumpling. DoorDash offered to refund that dish.Disappointed that this happened to one of the few places that didn't show food safety violations in this area.

Been wanting to g to try this restaurant it opened, and unfortunately was a huge disappointment. We ordered a good variety of their offerings which sounded and looked really good. However, everything tasted the exact same which wasn't much at all. The dining area was cramped, and they had a extremely loud bug zapper there which was quite jarring. Service was fine.
