Welty's Deli and Catering

This place is amazing. You need to visit before word gets out and it gets packed from open to close. We stopped because the menu looked good-wife wanted a muffaleta-and they did not disappoint. It was loaded with all the right stuff. And the bread, my goodness, that bread was phenomenal. I got pastrami on an onion roll-delicious. They had a special soup, chicken corn black bean poblano that my wife raved about. We each got the daily special, grape lemonade to drink, wow! They obviously use fresh green grapes when making it as you can see the tiny seeds floating it. It is a perfect balance of sweet and tart, cutting nicely through the fatty deli meats.Don't let the location fool you (the second floor food court of some type of mall), this food is legit. I still can't believe how quiet it was. Won't be for long though, fantastic food and staff!

This place is just straight up good. Friendly staff and fast service. The soups are posted outside before you come in and the Southwest chicken chili soup is great. French dip is amazing. Everything is freshly made. It's on the 2nd floor of an office building so it's kind of a hidden gem, right off St.charles street with balcony seating to let you see the people on the street while you enjoy your lunch.

Everything!!!!!!...... if you work in the CBD area you can literally go here everyday!! The staff is always so nice and the drinks are made fresh everyday!

Welty's used to have its own place in the CBD but is now in the food court of Place St Charles. But don't put it in the "food court" category. It's a classic deli, with a very distinct NOLA vibe. The sandwiches are LOADED with meat, and very good. I haven't had any of their specials - I go there when I want a corned beef or pastrami sandwich. Actually, yesterday it was their California Club, which as great, and I should not have eaten the whole thing all at once. I always dine in, and I always love listening to the interactions between the staff and the customers. It's a bit odd to be in a "food court" and hear so many "Here ya go my love" or "Hey baby, where you been?" with almost every customer being treated like long-time customers (which, apparently, many of them are). I swear, I think every sentence I hear either starts with, or ends with( or both), a great term of endearment. Everyone working there seems to really love what they do.Seriously, if you closed your eyes, you'd think you were sitting in a neighborhood diner. Being on the 2nd floor of an office and retail building, it's easy to forget about, but if you're looking for a great sandwich and some love, this is your place.

If you are looking for the best sandwiches and customer service in all of NOLA, visit Welty's! On my most recent visit I stumbled upon this hidden gem. The owner, Tina and her staff go above and beyond when it comes to customer service and the food is just the cherry on top of an impeccable establishment! They have an array of condiments and toppings to dress up your sandwich/food the way you like it. A special shout-out to Kacey and Lisa for their exquisite customer service and kind hearts. Counting down the days until I can fly 3,000 miles to eat here again.

Food was fantastic! It has a lovely outdoor seating area and the owner was terrific! Can't wait to go back!

Crazy good food for a lunch spot. I would recommend this place over and over, there are so many things to try. The shrimp roumalade salad and curry chicken salad sandwich were both amazing. My whole group loved their other orders too. Service was quick and kind, plenty of seating. To access, go inside the doors where Google maps has them marked, go up to the second floor food court.

I've walked past this place several times and never thought a thing of it until the other day, I was digging through Yelp for a casual, non-touristy lunch place in the CBD. I found it!I looked at their menu and knew I had to have the curry chicken salad. It didn't disappoint. Counter staff is friendly but a little chaotic. Don't fault them for it though, it's a lunch rush.Def worth a visit for a quick lunch if you're downtown.

Stopped here for lunch and was not disappointed! My husband got the muffuletta and I had a ham, turkey and bacon club. Both were outstanding! They did not skimp on the meat - these bad boys were overflowing. This was easily the best sandwich I've ever had. We got a side of potato wedges that were cooked and seasoned to perfection (also, huge!). The sandwiches come dry but there's a large selection of sauces and condiments you can add yourself. My hubs tried the Tabasco spicy mustard and loved it. We chatted with the owner who was fun to talk to and you can tell she handles the deli with love and care. The location is in an office building but we found street parking easily. Don't let the location throw you off, it's absolutely worth a visit!!

Great locally owned deli. We had the shrimp remoulade salad and a muffaletta. Both items were fresh and delicious. The portions are large and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly as well. This is definitely a great option if you are in the CBD.
