I was so excited when I saw they were opening a Toast in Gretna! Toast in Gentilly was one of the first brunch places I visited when I moved here and having in on the West Bank made it that much easier for me to get to!The new location is a great space with lots of dining space, both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor space has a wonderful playground a gorgeous mural painted in the back. The indoor space is also cute and comfortable. During this visit we sat at the bar and got excellent service! Water was kept filled and the food came out very quickly!I love the good at Toast! The Abelskivers are my favorite especially with their homemade jam! Their toast is also super good, buttered on both sides and toasted. I could eat that alone, no need to add anything on top! But if you are feeling some of their Toast specials they are great options! Service: Service was great! Our water was kept full and out food was served quickly!Drinks: Full barHappy Hour: NoneParking: Mostly street parking. You just have to watch where you park so you're not blocking any driveways.

This was our 3rd visit before actually being seated. The first two visits had wait times over an hour each visit so we went elsewhere locally. On this visit, we were seated instantly at the bar due to limited seating available in the dining room. The bar service was great, quick, and easy! I ordered the chicken and waffles which was made to order and provided that perfect balance of salt and sweet. The cayenne butter added a nice touch. Coffee was refilled without asking. I would recommend getting reservations even for two if you want to dine in. Once seated, you will enjoy a good meal. Dine local! Enjoy.

I dined here on a cold Saturday morning around 9:00 am and there was no wait! I was greeted at the door and I chose to sit at the bar since I was solo. The bartender/server greeted me after a quick glance at the menu and took my drink order. I ordered a double pomegranate mimosa because why not?! It was tasty and strong. I ordered the daily special, which was, at the time, the blackened salmon over grits with the crawfish cream sauce and scrambled eggs. Everything was hot and fresh. The salmon had a nice crisp on the edges as well. Will definitely return!

Still frequent this place for lunch and still never disappointed! We recently ventured out on the menu and I had the fried oyster toast with maque choux - so tasty! The servers are always so nice and honestly I love the casual but bustling diner vibe it has.

Went to Toast for brunch today with a friend and her daughters. I've been here twice before which the food and service was great, but today service was pretty bad.We opted for first available seating which happened to be outside after a short wait time. We were seated and given a water without glasses. Once we received glasses one had lipstick on the rim. I had to ask for a replacement twice and finally received it.Our orders were taken and food was served pretty fast. One of my friend's daughter's chicken had a piece of hair in it. Flies were bad which was to be understood outside, but we were not offered a fly fan for the table. I tried to get the attention of a few waitstaff to ask for a fan for the table to help reduce the flies. My ask went unheard so I went over and grabbed one from an empty table that had 2 sitting there. Lastly as we were still eating a waitstaff member came over to start removing empty plates. She knocked over syrup that fell through the table onto my friend's daughter's shoe and foot. I asked for a wet towel for her to clean off the syrup and she responded we don't have that but I can give you some napkins and you can use the water on the table. A wet paper napkin was not very helpful to remove sticky syrup from her foot. The bill was paid and we were out! Uncertain if the change of service was due to us being seated the last hour before closing or outdoor seating. Very disappointed!! If all of this had happened on my first visit I would not return.

The food was BOMB!!! Everything we had from the sourdough to the classic breakfast was great and very affordable prices. The coffee also was good! I would definitely come back to this spot. They also have a full bar and playground for the kids!

Stumbled upon this spot for brunch. It was a great find! We had a bit of a wait (40Minutes on a Friday) but it was worth it. We grabbed drinks and waited out back which was a perfect place to wait. The food was fantastic too!
