The Fish and Shrimp served on Friday and Saturday for lunch is the best you will ever have!
Excuse me sir, would you like more eggs with your cheese? Yes folks that's cheese. There was more cheese than egg in that omelet.

We went here for breakfast and got the pancake, bacon and two breakfast sammies. Service was excellent. Staff was so friendly and sweet with our toddlers. Food was simple but fresh and delicious. I have to mention that the bacon looked like run of the mill bacon but the flavor was so smoky and tasty - I don't know what magic they are working back there. I do think the egg sandwich needs a cheese on there to hold it all together but I'm sure they'd add it for you. Would definitely go back.

Great and friendly service. Recommended by a local resident. Food is good, although there was a bit to be desired with the chicken which was a tad dry. It was 48 minutes from close, so I get it. But it's a decent to-go lunch and I would do it again if ever I was in the area. Beans packed a serious punch of great flavor. Potato salad was likewise enjoyable.

Well. It is a small town cafe. Family run, from what I could gather from conversation. Service was friendly enough. We sat next to the. At window so I could keep an eye on my trailer, which was loaded with lumber. I got a egg sandwich and she got the omelet. My fried egg sandwich , well , too simply made? I expected more than what I got, it almost seemed as if I stole a little kid's snack. Her omelet was thick and looked really good, that is, until you cut into it and find a bladder full of nothing but cheese and more cheese. So much cheese my goatee grew before we left. The pied piper would of used this that fateful night. I'm not a local here, so the chances that I would stop back in here is pretty slim.Ohhh, I forgot about the tiny hole in the window sill that had a line of ants going in and out. Quite entertaining to watch!!

LOVE the atmosphere of The Cafe. Great southern hospitality from Peggy, my waitress and just a great small town feeling. When the food came, WOW, was it great. I would recommend this place far and wide

My husband and I just got through eating breakfast here. We opted for the buffet which was a huge mistake. The food was stone cold. Nothing was seasoned at all. When asked if everything was ok, I actually told her the food was cold. She said she could see steam but didn't go test the food for temperature. She just wanted our money. Almost $23 wasted but a lesson learned. Maybe they were just having an off day??

My husband and I stopped by this very cozy restaurant on a trip to New Orleans. After driving through the night, we were ready for a delicious, tummy-filling breakfast. That is exactly what we found at The Cafe. My husband had the Western Omelette which was absolutely delicious. Excellent blend of cheese, peppers, onion, and ham. I had the Pancake Platter, and I can't rave about it enough. A thick fluffy pancake that really caused a discussion between my husband and I about whether it was more delicious than the pancakes our moms made when we were younger. If you are in the area, this is the best place for breakfast! Stop in.. You won't be sorry.

Great find for an early pit stop. Super friendly staff and very local vibe. Very affordable and free refills on your coffee. The owner is very friendly and the hash browns are out of this world!

If you're ever in Kentwood for breakfast or lunch please make a visit to "The Café". You can't beat homestyle cooking. There are daily lunches and sandwiches. My personal favorite sandwich is the French dip. Places like The Cafe are the reason why I'm doing a Hwy. 51 travel series this summer. The best to offer is still on a majority of main street America.

As a guest, I've been in the kitchen, the floors are slippery with grease or cooking oil, I've watched the cook not wash hands after handling raw meat then handling other foods and breads, I believe if thew health department woould make a suprise visit they would shut them down till proper food handling procedures were posted and understood. Put a camera in the kitchen and you'll discover how the cook and others handle your food. I don't see any real safety guidlines being followed on food preperations, one cook can't speak english.
