This place is a whole entire vibe! What they lack in space, they definitely make up in ambiance, and hospitality. I'm not sure who the resident DJ is, but 90's R&B made this next level for me. My server was absolutely adorable. Talk guy with braces a, I usually remember to ask for a name. this time I neglected to ask. He made great recommendations and took great care of me. A friend sent me for the banana's foster French toast. I'm not much of a breakfast person. I'll usually forgo the sweet for savory. My server recommended the shrimp and grits so that was my pick. A beautiful bowl of creamy cheesy grits with tender juicy shrimp. I didn't miss a single bite. I went with one of the fresh juices. The orange pineapple mango with some ginger for good measure. This helped cut the richness of the meal. I'm planning to go back next time I'm in town.

So grateful my friends and I made time to have breakfast at Surrey's before our cruise. No wonder it's so popular! Customer service was incredible - everyone is so cool and made excellent recommendations. We felt so welcome. Only downside is the cash only policy, at least for the day we were there. Fortunately there's an ATM in the back.We started out with piping hot cups of fresh coffee. We got their famous Bananas Foster French Toast for the table. So creamy and delicious and not too sweet. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash for myself, while another friend got Shrimp & Grits. Everything was phenomenal. Would go out of my way to come here again next time I'm in NOLA!

On our visit to Surrey's Café & Juice Bar, we had a fantastic breakfast experience! My husband ordered the Crab Meat Omelette, which was stuffed with avocado and Brie cheese, topped with a creamy lump crab sauce. He also chose a biscuit as his side, and when he shared a piece with me, I was blown away! It was buttery, light, and so flavorful. He also got a side of their home fries with cheese, which were absolutely delicious--crispy, cheesy, and the perfect complement to his meal.I went for the Shrimp & Grits, which was sautéed Louisiana Gulf shrimp in a New Orleans-style BBQ sauce, served over a bowl of creamy grits. It was garnished with bacon, green onions, and French bread croutons, adding a wonderful texture and flavor contrast to the dish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the BBQ sauce had just the right amount of spice. We also shared a bottle of freshly squeezed orange juice, which was the perfect refreshing drink to go with our meal.Atmosphere:The café has a cozy, inviting vibe, with lots of natural light and a relaxed feel. It's a great spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or brunch.Service:The service was friendly and attentive, and we felt well taken care of throughout our visit.Pro Tips: * This place can get busy, so it's a good idea to arrive early to avoid a long wait. * If you're looking for fresh, healthy options, their juices and smoothies are top-notch.Overall, we were really happy we made the trip to Surrey's Café & Juice Bar. It was a great recommendation from a friend, and we'd definitely return!

Cash only I had the shrimp and grits with orange juice and it was good. Hubby had the plain French toast with eggs and grits a la cart. The service here was great, and the food came out pretty quick. Loved all the different art on the walls.

This place did not disappoint! It's a small establishment, so expect a wait but very cozy and inviting. The shrimp and grits were so delicious as well as the crab omelette and definitely do not skip the bananas foster French toast! Wow. Perfection. The range of flavors and textures were heavenly. Don't miss this place when in NOLA. It was one of my favorite places we ate. Thank you Surrey's for a fabulous brunch!

Saw on Yelp this is a place to try. We came on a Monday, week of Thanksgiving around 10.10am and there was a small crowd waiting for tables and got out names down and was told about 20 minutes. We got our table right around 20 minutes! The outdoor of the restaurant has a very rustic view with the fusia and turquoise paint on the outside and the inside has only about 12 tablesWe studied the menu while waiting and decided to get the following:Bananas Foster French Toast is great and exceeded our expectation. It's a little buttery and the banana is not sweet which is great. The dough is what makes this a great dish, it's very crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I was contemplating between the Shrimp and Grits and the crab omelette and the server recommended I go with the grits and I love it. Love the taste of the grits and shrimp on the bread, I just wish there was another 2 pieces of bread. Ordered the orange juice which I think it's just ok and the coffee which went really well with the banana foster.Overall , I would recommend this restaurant.

This is a solid 3.5 star, rounded to 4 stars. We walked into the restaurant and waited 5-10 minutes for a table. The service was friendly and I never felt like I needed anything. The food came out quickly. We got the pain perdu french toast for the table and each got the shrimp and grits. The French toast was good, light, and the powered sugar was a nice addition. The shrimp and grits was of the creamy grits variety without a gravy. We both thought it was good, but not the best we've had. We wished the bacon was scattered throughout instead of in pieces. Overall, a solid meal.

*** Vegetarian Review ***Service - A+ / super friendly. Check in at the front desk.Ambiance - A+ / love these local spots tucked away within neighborhoodsBananas Foster French Toast ($14.50, Grade A) - New Orleans-style French toast stuffed with banana-cream cheese. Topped with a classic Bananas Foster sauce of rum, brown sugar and butter, dusted with powdered sugar. Not overly rich and large enough portion to share. I do recommend ordering eggs to help balance the meal.Fresh Squeezed Organic Juice ($7.50, Grade A) : Comes in 2 sizes, 12oz or 16oz. I definitely super sized and for an additional $1, added ginger to their juice OPM (orange, pineapple, mango) special. So refreshing and makes you feel less guilty from all the fried beignets you eat while on vacation. Bottom line - Super friendly neighborhood spot. We were told the wait would be about 20 minutes and we waited just about 20 minutes. Once we ordered, our food arrived in less than 10 minutes.
