Southshore Donuts & Restaurant

I ordered a lemon filled doughnut. It was very good. However, very shady area and I had to stand at the door and ring a buzzer and wait to be buzzed in during regular daylight business hours. Plenty of other decent donut shops to go to definitely will not be back.

Food was good. Donuts are amazing. Service was great. Large cheeseburger Poboy combo was $14.00. Well worth it. Hard to find anywhere to eat lunch like that for under $15. Donuts selection was impressive. Will be back.

This was my number one donut shop in the east as a child, and it still holds the crown in my heart. Southshore is open 24/7 and has all your donut needs. They also serve breakfast and lunch. The inside has counter seating where the regulars like to gather and shoot the breeze.They are located on Downman, close to Hayne. If you are in the mood for donuts, I would suggest visiting them no matter where you are in the city. They also provide discounts for schools, churches, and businesses.

The service was horrible from the girl with the purple hair. She need to learn customer service and how to talk to customers. I'm going to write a review EVERYTIME I go in there.

I love places with character and personality and this little joint is all that. The counter was full of patrons all chatting and full of life during Covid. I truly enjoyed the blueberry donuts. And when my diet allows for another cheat day I will be back. The area of town was a little shady looking but the donuts were well worth it.

Come on, how many places can you legitimately say that you walked out with a donut that cost less than a dollar and left you wanting more? This is legitimately my favorite donut shop in NOLA. And I feel that my opinion is vindicated every time I bite into a 75 cent blueberry cake donut. If you take my opinion on anything, this should be the thing that you take it on. Its 24/7, great donuts, a great price, and unbeatable in my opinion. It's in the East (on Downman) so people can feel uneasy going at night, but I'm a white guy and I've never felt uneasy going at any time. If you go late, just ring the doorbell. This is a cool joint that looks like its a small-time place, but it's a gem for real. Give it a try and prioritize it next time you find yourself wanting a donut (even at 1am)!

Was craving donuts and other pictures of their selection on Yelp drew me in and I was not disappointed. We arrived a bit before 11am and they still had a ton of donuts. We ended up with a maple pecan, Boston Creme, honey bun, and lemon filled glazed. 4 donuts for under $5 is a good price in my book especially since 2 were filled and the honey bun was a decent size. Will definitely come back for an apple fritter and a few others that looked yummy.

They have bugs on the donuts. It's not a clean place if you have bugs that get on the food. The food should be sealed to prevent bugs from getting on the food. The service 2/5. The ambiance is dirty.

The light skinned overnight lady is mean and rude on two occasions I've heard her raising her voice and arguing with customers on the last occasion she made a lot of broad statements like Charlie is going to change my shift. I'm sick of Charlie. She also said she doesn't understand why people want to eat at 2 AM and she doesn't care if they have diabetes which I do have she also never has a lot of things on the menu. I usually don't do this, but this woman is out of control. But I will say the food was good.
