wraparound upstairs!
This is the store front. Of the four words, two would strongly suggest that this is in fact a coffee shop.

I've visited Pax Treme a few times this year for Midnight Noodle's pop-up "The 88 Burger" which includes vegan diner food such as burgers, loaded tater tots and pizza. I'm not vegan but I'll tell you one thing, this was some of the best vegan food I've EVER had. And as a person with vegan friends, a vegan "advocate" if you will, that still enjoys her meat from time to time, the shit is bomb. One of the first things I copped from The 88 Burger was the "Number One Stunna", a burger affectionately named after one of the greatest songs ever by our hometown heroes (if you're fortunate enough to have New Orleans be your hometown) The Big Timers. This includes crispy caramelized onions, 88 sauce, pickles, vegan American cheddar and a Beyond burger patty. As I bit into it, I could hear echoes of the lyrics "You know me, I don't need no introduction..." Okay, maybe not all of that. But it was GOOD. The Beyond patty melts in your mouth and those crispy, caramelized onions really tops it off. About a month later, I had to visit again as new additions hit the menu. This time I went with the "Big Love to Mama" burger which includes caramelized onions, 2 thin Beyond meat patties, Follow Your Heart vegan American cheese, house made 88 special sauce and a 3-part sesame bun. Think of it as one big delicious vegan Big Mac, but better! And yes, 100% vegan. Made by vegans!Just wow. Melvin Midnight definitely has a gem on his hands with this pop-up. I'll certainly be back for more once new dates are released.

I was grateful for Pax Treme as Addiction Coffeehouse was closed and I was craving something cold and caffeinated before my hair appointment. This place is super cute inside. Modern meets rustic with books multiple seating arrangements and I believe a pretty full kitchen in the back. I peaked some of the other visitors who were eating in with full breakfast meals with eggs and smashed potatoes. I told them I would have to try that on my next visit and they told me to be careful because it could be addictive. I was very surprised to find out that all the pastries as well are made on site. I tried the canele and it was yummy and sweet. Unfortunately, it may have decreased my sensitivity to the sweet in my Vanilla Latte. I loved that it was well iced and cold, milky but somehow still strong. But I was missing that sweet aftertaste from the Vanilla syrup. Overall with the decor and the great pastries this is a quality new venture. Also, they had another flavored latte that looked very interesting so I will definitely be back. I am really excited for the continuing revitalization under the bridge.

Loved this place but I think they're closed. They had a sign they were closed for renovation opening in the Fall (last Fall) but I've never seen them open and if you call the number it says the person is "unavailable." They also don't answer emails. So sad because it was a beautiful space, sweet people and delicious food. If you are the owner and read this please let me know if you're reopening because I loved your cafe.

While roaming through the neighborhood, I found this shop and met owners Scott and Gabrielle who are super friendly. I ordered a cortado to-go and had a fun conversations about the beans with Scott. Great, spacious location. Wishing them the best with their new business!

Delicious espresso, warm staff, and gorgeous, quiet space to do work. The space has high ceilings, lots of seating, a lending library, and a bakery bar in the back where you can see them baking fresh pastries by hand. One of my favorite new spots!

Not at all a coffee shop.I'm pretty new to NOLA, and I'm still working on finding some good spots to study, hang out, take a date, etc. One very important thing for such occasions is a knowledge of cool coffee shops. Based on the picture, you can imagine that when I just happened to drive by this place I got pretty excited and wanted to stop and see the inside and enjoy some coffee and reading. As impressive as the inside was, they didn't serve coffee. You can imagine my disappointment, seeing as everything on the outside (like the name) alluded to it being a coffee shop.If you're looking for a cafe for a nice meal, maybe it's the place for you. But you probably wouldn't guess that from driving by. If you're looking for coffee, save yourself some time and frustration.
