This little store was convenient to the hotel at which we were staying. They had a little bit of everything, but prices were a bit high for some basics like bottled water. There wasn't much else around, so this was about it when you didn't want to walk up to where all of the other stuff is. It serves its purpose.

Not sure of the method used at this property but it certainly serves a need. I had a lotto ticket that I needed to collect on.....not that much :)I was surprised by how the candy and stuff was displayed. I think this could be displayed differently but I think they just don't care about that.

For as many times as I went out while in the city I could have kicked myself for not knowing this was near. Most times I went out I was looking for a snack or a drink. And for the amount of walking I did for a simple snack I could have saved some time.I will say this, this is not your place to come to fill a large order of everything you need. It is limited in the selection of what you need. This is more of a place for those in a hurry and not picky. It also seems to be a place where many go to buy their lottery tickets. They have many papers on the wall that show they sell a lot of winning tickets. This truly feels like a community corner store. Every person that came in while we looked over the shelves were greeted by what I assume to be the owner. It was a welcoming store that filled the need for me.

$16 for a 3 oz bottle of hairspray... absolutely ridiculous. I will never be back. Convenience is one thing but not a reason to steal you blind.

Sometimes it's about a business being exactly what you need, exactly when you need it. I had thoroughly enjoyed myself at The Big Idea on Fulton Street this year whilst rocking a new pair of red patent leather pumps ( thanks random dude for the shoe compliment). The winners were announced, and it was time to hightail it over to Hogs for the Cause which required a complete wardrobe change (Superman style) but I totally forgot a pair of socks to change into my red sneaker wedges. Did I REALLY want to walk around City Park's parade grounds till the wee hours of the morning in my sneaker wedges sans socks? Hells to the no. There like a beacon of blinky lights, the Mini Mart appeared on the corner of Commerce and Lafayette Street. I sauntered in, and asked with very little hope in my voice if they had socks, per chance. I think the guy made a funny, and said something about, "making it a point to have everything" and pointed in the direction of my desire. Lo and behold, they had white ankle socks! There was a $5 minimum on credit cards, so I grabbed a pack of gum (probably a good idea as well since I'd just had a Bloody Mary for dinner), and went on my merry way. They also have an ATM, and from what I could see under the glass counter as I set my goods down to pay, a plethora of glass smoking devices if so one desired such an apparatus. It's good to know this little store is in this neighborhood dominated by restaurants, bars, hotels, and not many convenient....convenience stores. I really appreciated this business being what I needed right when I needed it, so they get my 5 stars!

This is surprisingly the only place in New Orleans I've found with diet ginger ale. Sodas are $2.50 but when you need something you need something. It's open almost all the time even on holidays and the owner is super nice with an interesting selection of alabaster or marble gifts from Pakistan, in addition to a good selection of the normal snacks, personal products and mini mart stuff.
