Mama's Place

I love Mama's Place. I brought some out of town friends here to pregame before a Mardi Gras parade. We had great food and drinks to keep us going through the parade. The bartenders are fast and friendly, and the crowd here is great. It is the total package for a friendly neighborhood bar!

I stopped in here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The food was way beyond what I expected from a neighborhood bar. They really have the food happening in this little spot. You're likely to see the same old crowd having a cold one after work.

As far as a sports bar, this place is perfect and they make a great cheeseburger. Unfortunately the fries were ice cold otherwise they would've gotten a five. I will be back to try some of their specials, especially the red shrimp and the lobster. If you during Mardi Gras you're gonna have a great time.

I love almost everything about Mama's Place. It's in the middle of a quiet, residential neighborhood, with a lot of comfortable (seasonably) outdoor seating, and it just blends in with the neighborhood very nicely. I've eaten here a few times - catfish po-boy, burgers, meatballs & spaghetti, and the food has been really, really good every time. The "almost everything" part of my review is the service. Sometimes the service is okay, especially if you eat at the bar. Sometimes the service is downright horrible. I've got friends who say they love the food but won't go there because of the service. It's particularly tricky with the outdoor seating - it's not always clear if they do table service or if you have to go inside to order. Either way is fine, but you should go inside and ask first - it's just not clear. Honestly, one or two of the servers seem to take pride in being a little surly, and when I've been there on really busy evenings, I've had incredibly long waits for food - on one occasion we finally figured out that my sandwich had just been enjoyed by the next table over, who ordered quite a bit after I did. But the food really is good, and if the weather is nice, the outdoor environment really is pleasant.

Great food , great people, great place !! I have found a new home !! Only negative thing about this place is the wait staff keep undressing me with there eyes ! I am more than a piece of meat

A friendly neighborhood sports bar with great food!We stopped in to watch the Saints game on a Sunday afternoon. The service and staff were excellent & the atmosphere was friendly. So we decided to order food.We were treated to the MOST AMAZING cheeseburgers & onion rings ever! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Great owner, great food, great pours. Excellent establishment to watch an LSU game or just chill with friends and grab some wings and onion rings.

Taco Tuesday , cold fish, shrimp tacos.Refried beans and rice were stale. No one cared when told.

Hella good. Try the debris fries. Unbelievably good and the rumor is they'll be selling their remoulade to-go soon.Divey dive dive but the food is off the charts. Everything you expect from a humble hole in the wall in southern Louisiana.Filet Mignon can't be missed either. Do it. Dooooo itttt

Unfortunately it says they are open until....kitchen closes early and staff was very agitated that we came in wanting food. I didn't want to bother them but if you don't know....So don't waste your time driving there especially in the evening hours.
