I'll be the first to say this place has issues. I've been coming here for most of my life though, so I'm pretty loyal nonetheless. If you can get past the completely inconsistent food prep and service, you'll find yourself enjoying a real gem. Some of my favorite memories are hanging out with friends here during highschool. The interior has always been cozy and dim compared to the loud beach style exterior. I'm not mad that the workers chill out at the tables and take their time getting up to come serve you. I appreciate places that let their workers sit down and act like humans. The workers there don't always know what's on the menu. But I do! Order a steak croissant and a peach coffee smoothie. It's been a while since I ordered the steak croissant, but they usually will go to the other kitchen to grab steak for me. The peach coffee smoothie was definitely something that can be inputted in the computer by your server at least a couple months ago. It's ice cream, cold brew, peach puree or fresh peaches, a bit of oats, and whipped cream. If this sounds crazy to you, don't be alarmed; it's heaven on earth!

Tire of the chain coffee shops you normally visit? Give Kona a try.Kona is a small coffee shop located in Old Mandeville. It is attached to The Beach House and I am pretty sure it used to be a bar or at east part of the bar at the BH. Now it is a full on coffee shop. The GoodThe coffee here is very good. The iced coffee is bold yet smooth with very little bitterness. if you're a fan of coffee the way god intended (black with nothing), you will be happy with their version. If I had to guess I would say that it's cold brewed. There is a decent selection of food items. On my most recent visit I had a croissant sandwich. It was pre-made and microwaved to warm it up, but it was tasty. My daughter had a chocolate muffin which she devoured with the quickness. The "Just OK"This is a small and narrow space with low ceilings. Each time I have been here it seemed as if all, or almost all, of the tables were taken up by folks who weren't leaving anytime soon. I am a big fan of working at a coffee shop, but if you've got whining kids, it is nice to have a place to sit, eat, and then roll out. There is a small parking lot next to the shop. I have never seen it when it wasn't full. There is ample street parking, but the curbs are low and not friendly to low vehicles. The service is hit or miss. My most recent visit was fine, but several others have been downright odd. One time the barista didn't know how to make the sandwich I ordered. I am pretty sure it just gets unwrapped and put in the microwave. Will I be back? I think so. It is a nice alternative to the chains. I just wish I had more tie during the week to stop in.

First time here. This place sucks. Bad service and over priced. Never coming back. Only customer, ticket on my croissant order didn't get to the cook until 10 minutes after I asked where my order was. Then another 10 minutes waiting for them to make it. First time barista, not her fault. Poorly managed for the breakfast customer.

Surprisingly flavorful iced lattes! Cute indoor seating area but only 5-ish tables. First floor restroom is clean and easily accessible.

Holy shit. My first PSL for this year. HOMEMADE pumpkin puree spice syrup. So good dammit. I avoid these every other coffee shop because they use all the artificial sugary syrups. But. This. Omg. Hella cool Hawaiianish cabin in the woods, homey vibe in here. Everything I wish every single coffee shop emulated. Theres a certain refreshing vibe when working out of a place with this feel. Reminds me of my tropical summers abroad at coffee shops. Its a productive environment for me. I can speak on other reviews about the coffee. I was greated by this very friendly gal and I got her homemade pumpkin puree spice syrup latte. I can't do the artificial syrup ones any where else, so this is my first PSL for the season. Omg. Happy. Tables of all sizes, a couch, not many but literally the perfect spot for me to crash and crank out some work spread out on the big table cozy by a faux fireplace and warm heater hittin my face . Its attached to the beachy restaurant next door so if you're here al day you can grab bites from there. Also they do have a small pastry case with homemade muffins from a local baker. 1/2 the price since it's a day old...like hello still good. Small parking lot right next to it or parking on street. Too bad this isn't on the south shore or I'd be a frequent customer.

Cute and quaint little coffee place in Old Mandeville. When you walk in, it is so welcoming and serene. Very cool vibe with sofas, tables and chairs, and a TV. Nice and quiet, just like I like it. Ordered a double espresso with milk and sweetener and it was divine! The only complaint I have is the staff....no smiles:/ Cheer up buttercups!

No coffee during normal business hours. No baristas in the shop. This place should close.

Took my family in for coffee as we were having a nice walk on a beautiful day in Mandeville. Was served for drinks that were absolutely tepid in temperature and weak and strength. I asked the worker to microwave my coffee to heat it up. He didn't act surprised that it wasn't hot and told me the microwave really didn't work well but he microwaved it anyway. My daughter commented that it tasted like free coffee and a cheap hotel. I couldn't agree more don't waste your money here

Since I'm from Hawaii my wife called to see if they have actual Kona coffee since this would be a real treat. She was told by the young employee with great authority "Kona is not an actual 'brand' of coffee, it's just the name of the owner's dog". Wow. Way to educate your employees.
