Granny's is a solid breakfast place.I found myself in Pearl River for a volleyball tournament at the school up the road. There was a lengthy delay in between games so I searched for and found a spot to eat breakfast on Yelp.Granny's is not a boujee breakfast joint which is great as I do not like the boujee breakfast. If you do, I am not hating but you may want to look elsewhere. If you are not and are looking for a good omelet and friendly service, Granny's is where you should be looking. This is an order at the counter, fill your own drink, grab a number, and wait for your food kind of place. The restaurant is clean and the locals are friendly. While I visited during off hours, there were a couple of folks inside having a nice conversation about something or other. The food was good to very good. My omelet was well made and had a good ratio of stuff to egg. I hate fluffy omelets and this one was thin and just how I like. Prices were very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food I received.

We decided to stop in this past Sunday morning for breakfast and glad we did. Restaurant is clean and welcoming. I like how you order at the window. Nice way to utilize a smaller space. We ordered an omelette and the two egg breakfast. Food came out hot and fresh. Ice tea and coffee were good. Friendly staff. We will be back.

The food was not very good and prices were high for what we received. We both had the daily special of jambalaya with fried catfish and a cup of gumbo & ordered title cheesecake for dessert that we took with us. The gumbo tasted good, but was made with instant rice. Who uses instant rice in the South?!! The catfish was ok, but greasy. The jambalaya was "scooped" on the plate: dry, instant rice, not very good flavor. The best I can say is that this place was clean. We won't be back.

4 Stars instead of 5 just for room to grow! They're newer so have a little patience as they workout kitchen timing but definitely a good place to eat, especially in a small town! My husband and I have never seen our daughter clear a breakfast plate so fast--in fact, all three of us cleared our plates it was all so good! We've also had lunch here and the burgers and chicken salad were fresh and flavorful, well worth the little wait. We hope this place stays here for a long time to come and we will definitely be back often!

Grannys Kitchen advertised opening several months before the doors were ever unlocked. Upon entering, you're met by a very small dining area with mismatched decor. A very creepy menacing looking "granny" doll hangs over head in a corner. There is no atmosphere. With the size of the dining area, you can hear the details of every conversation in the room. This could be remedied by some soft music which would help drown out the noises around you and help to lessen the pain of the wait time of your lackluster food. The service at the walk up and order is window less than desirable. We ordered from an entire chalkboard wall menu. We were told the owner is from Chalmette, and in my experience, most restaurants that thrive in St Bernard Parish are pretty tasty. We were excited about our visit. We ordered a burger with fries and a shrimp on bun with fries. The food? I've had better PB&Js. The shrimp, cooked to perfection, had little to no taste. The batter was very bland and did nothing to excite my tastebuds. The burger was cooked to order and had a good taste while it sat atop some limp lettuce, an under-ripened tomato and a bun that was cold as Christmas in Wyoming. Don't even get me started in the fries. Soggy is an understatement. These were obviously dropped in under heated oil. And even thought they were soggy from cold oil, they were still undercooked and had that "raw" taste. With the anticipation we had for this new little spot to eat in tiny Pearl River, we were super disappointed in the service, the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. This is a one and done for us.
