Gracious Bakery + Cafe

The people running this place are so kind and talented! Everything is made from scratch in house. The pastry's are great! We also had a chicken pot pie that was fantastic! I highly recommend this spot for a quick delicious bite and coffee. This would also be a nice place to post up with a laptop if you need a place to work.

With a large, deep interior, the building is a charming and ideal meeting place. I love the idea of combining local baked goods and locally-roasted coffee.Unfortunately, the coffee is not top notch and the baked goods are ok - reflective of the production at volume to supply their several other locations.

I always get good service when going to Gracious Bakery + Cafe. The coffee and caffeinated bevs are B+ or better. The curry lentil hand pies are A+.

I really like the food here but the experience I just had was surprisingly awful. Walked in and ordered a pastry and iced coffee. While they made the coffee their whole system went down, preventing me from paying (card or cash). I stood patiently at the counter while they tried to fix it. In the mean time they put my coffee in front of me. Finally after 15 minutes they hadn't figured it out and I had to go back to work. I just said, sorry, I have to go back to work. The manager just said "ok" and pulled back my coffee. Cool. No "so sorry" for the wait or the six attempts to pay. Instead they'll dump my coffee out and throw away the food (I would hope after already heating it up). They weren't even nice about it and the manager definitely had an attitude the whole time. The other woman behind the counter has apologized several times, she actually felt bad

This white cheddar biscuit with egg and smoked cheddar might actually be the best breakfast biscuit I've ever had. The bread was amazing, and the lovely ladies working today were the sweetest

The person at the cash register specifically at the Pyrtania street location around 7:30am on 6/18/24 was incredibly rude to me. If you expect to be treated with respect and dignity please don't bother patronising this establishment until they get new staff. I've never been disrespected in such a way in my entire life.

Grabbed a couple of pastries yesterday. The pecan tart was my favorite. This bakery offers a decent selection of baked goods, but the super friendly service makes it worth a stop.

Great breakfast sandwiches along with a large selection of classic pastries, all delicious. A great NOLA coffee shop. (Personal quibble: They really should be offering a much better chocolate chip cookie. IMHO.)

I don't have a complaint about the service, it appears to be more in the ownership. Every time I go here only one person is working, meaning they run the register as well as make the food. This results in incredibly slow service and it takes forever to get anything as they are constantly running back and forth between the kitchen and register. Hire more people to staff your cafe.
