The service at Frenchmen Grocery Deli is consistently friendly, and the store is incredibly convenient, offering a wide range of items from drinks and snacks to a variety of bánh mì sandwiches, po' boy sandwiches, seafood platters, and more. I'm giving it four stars primarily because I feel that the portion of meat in the bánh mì could be more generous. While the price has increased from $4.99 to $6.99, the amount of meat included (around 2 to 3 ounces) feels a bit lacking given the typical expectations for a bánh mì, which are usually more generously filled. That said, I truly enjoy the food, and I appreciate the warm, welcoming service. I would love to see a little more thought put into the portion sizes, especially for larger orders. Despite this, I will definitely continue to return because the food is genuinely delicious, and the service is outstanding!

In the middle of our NOLA pub crawl we decided we needed some street drinks. After looking up if there were any stores around, we were pointed to Frenchmen Grocery & Deli. We came in to grab some drinks and the selection isn't bad. We had a look around and the staff are pretty friendly. It looks to have some store made food available but unsure if it's any good. Is it like the bodegas in NY or do they just serve sandwiches here? Would take recommendations from any locals that have been here. There's also a large selection of tobacco products. There's ice cream, cold drinks and the regular convenience store candy as well.Staff were friendly, we got our drinks and took off. I think it's dog friendly as we saw a guy carrying his dog around in there.

I'm taking off a couple of stars because this place is never frickin open when I need it. Or is open but doesn't have banh mi. I used to love it because I could get a cheap beer and people watch on the street or listen to buskers or browse at the art market, but now I just bring my own beer to Frenchmen because I never know if they're going to be open. The banh mis are good if you are ever here when they have some. And I appreciate the tofu option.

Sketchy does not truly define the small convenient store in the heart of Frenchman Street... there's really no other alternatives to Grab a few necessity items close by so you're relegated to the spot.Try to remember to get ready. You don't have to go here. Everything is extremely pricey as it should be. In a convenience. Store rough sketchy service not encourage you to shop...

Solid place to grab an energy drink and water while walking around Frenchman street. Didn't get to try the po boys or deli but glad this is located where it is for hydrating!

Great little neighborhood grocery and deli. After walking by dozens of times, I finally took time to read all the great reviews, highlighting the bahn mi sandwiches. I'm in! Definitely more of a deli and package store more than a grocery store. Don't let the outside fool you, the inside is spotlessly clean. Solid service and very good grilled chicken bahn mi sandwich. Crispy bread filled with the perfect amount of grilled chicken, onions, carrots, cucumbers, fresh cilantro, jalapeño & a light sauce. Delicious! No inside seating, but they do offer a couple sidewalk/curbside high tops, or grab it to-go and hit Washington Square Park a block up Frenchman. I've found my new causal lunch spot!

I got a banh mi which was delicious.. BUT... they overcharged me and admitted to it because it was during the St. Patrick's Day Parade.Their response was "special pricing for special day" which I found to be a little messed up. There's a picture on Yelp that states that some po boys are $3.99... no, $11

Long live Frenchmen Grocery! I eat their banh mi once a week at least and they're amazing. Great fresh bread and you can even get a fried shrimp banh mi. Great beer selection too without out a huge convenience tax like other markets in and around the quarter. Super cool staff too. Best in town!

They do a good job of having what you need and I use them when I don't want to get in the car or the other stores are closed. Sure, you pay convenience-store prices! You're paying for the convenience and they're paying Frenchmen Street rent. But it's well organized and what you need is likely there!
