You have got to have the infamous beignets when in NOLA, and from about ten places I found this one was the one I chose. They have several different locations but this one on Royal street was in the heart of the action, had a very nice little patio and limited seating inside. That being said, $4 for three rather LARGE beignets were amazing! The amount of powdered sugar used though- was astonishing but they had these beignets coming out piping hot consistently and I now see why. They were very doughy and tasty and extremely filling. But not filling enough that we didn't also eat breakfast because we did and their breakfast was really good! Thankfully the portions were pretty small. I got their cheese omelette with grits and it comes with toasted French bread. Luckily the omelette are about half the size of a regular one. The grits were very savory and better than ones I've had in Atlanta that's for sure.Only thing I did not see was alcohol. And I was not a fan of the coffee. So that was a miss for me and only disappointment, but there's plenty of places outside to find that!

Andouille Sausage Omlette 2/53 piece beignet 4/5Yelp recommended that I come here to get top notch beignet to dodge out on the ridiculous line at Cafe Beignet and I definitely agree with that advice having been to both. While we still had a line out of the door but the line moved relatively quickly and there is a good amount of space to sit outside if the weather is nice. At first we tried the Andouille Sausage Omlette, and honestly, it came out a little short. The Andouille sausage was flavorful on its own and the omlette was very fluffy, but thats where the compliments end. The chefs seemed to be very worried about the dish coming out overly salty, which resulted in the eggs having almost no taste if the sausage is not part of the bite. But our meal was saved by the beignet, which is HUGE. My partner and I could barely finish the 3 piece order, and each piece is about the size of my palm. We upgraded our order by adding chocolate syrup and strawberry, which made the dough a little more flavorful, especially as we fought our willpower to finish the last piece.

This place has an incredible old-school New Orleans feel, with both indoor and outdoor seating that makes you want to sit back and soak it all in. It's definitely a great spot to rest outside if you're exploring the French Quarter. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxed, the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem. The food and drinks were just as good--definitely a place that should be an easy favorite.Unfortunately, the service didn't match. When I visited in early February, the woman at the register seemed really upset, which made for an uncomfortable experience. I know it wasn't personal, but it definitely took away from the visit.

Cafe Beignet - Royal Street On our last day in New Orleans, I couldn't leave without grabbing some beignets to go and trying a New Orleans staple--the muffuletta sandwich. I'm so glad I chose Cafe Beignet for my final meal in this amazing city!AtmosphereThe moment you walk in, you're greeted by a beautiful and welcoming space. From the warm lighting to the charming palm drawings on the walls, the ambiance is delightful. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, with a lovely garden like view that adds to the experience.ShoppingAround the counter area, they have a variety of local products available for purchase, including their own beignet mix, New Orleans coffee, spices, condiments, praline pecans, and even postcards--a great spot for picking up a little taste of New Orleans to take home.MenuThe menu is diverse, offering both hot and cold beverages like coffee, tea, milk, and fountain drinks. Food options range from omelets, southern breakfasts, and Cajun hash browns to waffles, French toast, and New Orleans specialties like Jambalaya, Gumbo, and, of course, the muffuletta.Food ExperienceAfter placing our order, we were given a placeholder number and found a seat. The service was quick, and our food was brought to the table fresh and warm. * The beignets were freshly made, warm, fluffy, and coated with just the right amount of powdered sugar--absolutely perfect! * The muffuletta sandwich stole the show for me. Made with Genoa salami, ham, Swiss, provolone, and olive salad on an Italian bun, it was so flavorful and satisfying that I'm already craving another one.Final ThoughtsNext time I'm in New Orleans, I'm definitely coming back to Cafe Beignet. Whether it's for their beignets, the muffuletta, or to try more of their menu, this place has earned a permanent spot on my must-visit list!

Cafe Beignet was my first choice when I sought out a place to hole up for a bit where I could sip on coffee, nosh on beingets, while get some work done. SPACE: I really dig the vibe here! The wrought iron chairs, tiled floors, and painted murals evoke a certain type of Parisian sidewalk café charm. Had the weather been working more in my favor, there was a large inviting patio adjacent to the restaurant space. The rain kept me inside, which worked out perfectly for knocking out some remote work.SIPS: They offer a variety of coffee and tea beverages. I chose to sip on an iced coconut latte during my visit. It really hit the spot. They serve up the traditional chicory coffee the Big Easy is known for too. SUSTENANCE: So come for the beignets, but stay for the sandwiches. YUM! I decided that I was going to stay through lunch, which meant that my sweet breakfast wasn't going to cut it. I opted for the Breakfast Sandwich (Scrambled egg, bacon, and white cheddar) on a croissant. It was just what I needed to get me through the last bit of my work. They do offer up other plates including traditional NOLA staples like gumbo, jambalaya, muffaletta, and more! SERVICE: Everyone was so nice! They brought out my dishes to my table and ensured that I got me coffees from the counter. It's easy to see why people flock to Cafe Beignet. I'd gladly come back next time I'm in NOLA!**Pro Tip: If you're staying at the Hotel Monteleone the super awesome doormen may have coupons for a free coffee and beignets. Just sayin'... It's absolutely worth making small talk.

Best beignets! Alternative to that other place with the huge line. These are fresh from the oven (because there is still a line). Balanced sweetness to the dough served up hot with confectioner's sprinkle or chocolate syrup. Small area of cafe type seating. Grab a coffee or get them to go and travel to your fave Coffee place. They'll give you a number and deliver your food when it's ready. Get drinks and pay in line at the counter. Be sure to eat them while they are still warm. Think more elephant ear or fry bread than croissant. Still not too heavy and not overly sweet. Delicious on a breezy menu g with a Cafeé au lait. The line goes quickly. It's worth the wait

Came here while in NOLA for a conference and it was tooo good! So much more than beignets . I might need to try their entire brunch menu. My friends and I got their normal and 'gourmet' beignets and they were delicious!Came here both times I've been in NOLA and never regret making that stop. Always a long line. But it moved fast - so wait! It's worth it :)

When Cafe du Monde is more of a walk than you feel like, or if you've already done that, Cafe Beignet is a good option. Aside from their bigger, fluffier beignets, they offer pastries, sandwiches, full breakfast etc. Their coffee is pretty decent, and the breakfast sandwiches are pretty basic, but are good enough that we keep going back. The beignets are pretty big, and one order is at least enough for two people. They are just as good as du Monde, just a little different in texture. Same enormous amount of powdered sugar. Ordering is at the counter. They give you a number, and you go wait in the small front dining area or, my preference, the courtyard facing the street. Friendly staff, good food, fast service.
