This place is up there with Cafe du Monde. And I say "up there" as in: it wasn't my favorite beignet and you can get better ones in the city. They have a location every where like a Starbucks (literally you can walk a few feet and see another in the Quarter). The beignets just felt heavy and greasy and so doused in powdered sugar. I get for some that's the appeal but nah. The location We went to had a big outdoor seating but the guys working didn't seem like they wanted to be there. Not super friendly. They had a jazz band playing but it was just kinda loud so we ate quick and left.

Wife wanted to listen to some Jazz music while eating Sunday brunch. Went to Antoines and they politely said they were booked up, despite the place being empty at 1030am -another way of saying we didn't meet the dress code, despite me dressing in slacks and a collar shirt.Came here for outdoor seating next to a band playing, with covered seating from potential rain. Long line just to get to ordering food at the counter, fast food style. Wife was going to have a vegetarian omelet, but didn't care for the swiss cheese, so ordered the $12.49 Cajun hash browns, while I ordered the $13.49 Crawfish Etouffee.A couple of empty tables, but staff slow cleaning up, with mounds of white powdered sugar from the beignets all over the tables, chairs and floors. One place where you don't want to wear dark colored pants.Takes 20 minutes for the waitress to bring our food, and we find out you have to get your own plastic utensils and napkins. Food comes on paper plates.Cajun hash browns very ordinary except for the Andouille sausages, which give it some spice. Crawfish Etouffee 1% crawfish, 9% gravy and 90% white rice. The crawfish are so tiny, I have to take off my glasses to see them, little red specs against the white rice. Probably canned except that they are virtually tasteless. The band was playing when we got here, but took a half an hour break at 10:30am, just as we started to eat. More like Dixieland jazz music. Did notice the band members passing around a bucket on a pole asking for tips, particularly for people seated nearby the stage. Forgot to bring loads of dollar bills, which I only bring for lap dancers! Just kidding.

Oh my goodness, we had a great little breakfast here, and we were in a little bit of a hurry, so we ordered our food. They gave us a number, and we waited for them to bring our food; they had quite an array of breakfast treats, and we got a big bonus because the band they had there was perfect, creating quite an amazing and beautiful New Orleans brunch, music swirling around our heads and smiles across our faces, (it was my birthday last September, and the band sang happy birthday to me, which was super cool) we were so excited to slow down and listen to the band that was playing. We got quite the show for our beignets, coffee, and other treats. My daughter loved the beignets, but what's not to like about fried dough? Lol, this one spot here has a great ambiance. The service was quick, and the food was good, but it's the ambiance. It's sitting there listening to this great jazz music, having the quintessential breakfast with beignets and coffee. What more can you ask for in New Orleans on Bourbon Street? Cheers my friends and SYOY 02/15/25 Review #364

Ridiculously good beignets! We decided to go here rather than wait in the obnoxious line at the other place. These were worth the decision. Definitely some of the best beignets we've ever had. It's really pretty outside at night too.

What a great spot to hear some live jazz and enjoy a cocktail or some beignets. The king cake beignets are music to your mouth. So yummy. After a few cocktails, you need that hit of sugar and these were perfect. We will come back!

Yes to the location, beignets, and live jazz.No to the other food...You can't come to NOLA and not have any beignets! We've tried Cafe du Monde, and heard that Cafe Beignet was the other place to check out. The beignets didn't disappoint and Musician Park was the best place to people watch and enjoy some cool live jazz. We got the plain powdered beignets and enjoyed their soft, pillowy texture. They were the sweet and went well with the house coffee. 100% recommend coming here for beignets as I would say they're comparable to Cafe du Monde (check out my next review for where I think the BEST beignets actually are). We came for lunch and also ordered some jambalaya and crawfish etoufee. Both were kinda mid -- the jambalaya was somehow bland and salty, and the rice was dry; the crawfish etoufee was better seasoned, but the pieces of crawfish were so small, dry, and lacked flavor. The bread served on the side was stale. I wasn't expecting super high quality, but for $13, I was hoping for flavor or preparation at least. Services and location were great. This location is nestled right in the heart of Bourbon Street and was very easy to find. The courtyard is super cute and pays homage to iconic jazz musicians. Service was friendly and they were super fast at cleaning up tables for guests to sit. Live jazz starts at 10a, so I highly recommend going then for breakfast.

Now I know this is the beignet place to stop. Different(lower) price from the other Cafe Beignet, and larger beignets! There is a significant line of customers. We stopped here for a frozen(brain freeze if you are not careful)Hurricane. No special hurricane glass, but then nothing to carefully carry home either. It is a tasty fruity drink that one drinks slowly and a necessary part of a visit to New Orleans.

Cafe Beignet, nestled in the French Quarter of New Orleans, offers a delightful and laid-back experience that contrasts with the bustling energy of the area. Known for its inviting ambiance and authentic charm, it's an excellent spot to enjoy classic New Orleans-style beignets.Cafe Beignet boasts a cozy and picturesque setting, often tucked within beautifully historic buildings or adorned with lush greenery. Its outdoor patio is a highlight, offering a tranquil escape amid the lively French Quarter. With jazz music playing softly in the background, the vibe is relaxed and quintessentially New Orleans. The beignets are the star here--pillowy, warm, and generously dusted with powdered sugar. They strike a great balance between being light and satisfying. Pair them with a cup of their freshly brewed coffee or café au lait for a classic treat. While beignets are the main draw, they also serve a variety of breakfast and lunch options, including sandwiches, omelets, and po'boys, which are decent but don't overshadow the beignets. The staff at Cafe Beignet is friendly.Authentic and delicious beignets.Cafe Beignet is a must-visit if you're looking for a more chill and intimate spot to enjoy a quintessential New Orleans snack. It's perfect for anyone who wants to soak in the French Quarter's charm without the overwhelming tourist crowds.
