Bywater Bakery is a mouthwatering magical wonderland of baked goods.When you enter, you can either order at the counter, or go over to the pastry case and self serve most of the day's selection into wax paper bags before checking out. From there, ladened with goodies, you can find a seat in the charming mixed furniture back room.My husband and I couldn't help ourselves, and we ordered more than we could eat and then mistakenly ate it all anyways. We had the blueberry mini bundt cake, everything croissant, sweet potato cinnamon roll, and a slice of the key lime chantilly cake. You can order full cakes for celebrations too. If I lived in town, I am sure I would find random nonsensical reasons to celebrate simply so I could order another cake.

The bakery is very clean & friendly & inviting. They offer an array of things from beautifully decorated cakes to small hot treats & coffee products to a self service case with small treats like cookies. We tried the wonderbar, chocolate chip cookie & sweet potato sticky bun from the self service case. Everything was absolutely delicious. We will be stopping back as often as we can.

Outstanding fresh baked goods! Do not miss out. Fantastic assortment of cakes perfect for any occasion. Easy to have customized for birthdays. Delicious croissants bagels and more.Staff seem tired and overworked... nice... just not joyful. *sigh*NOTE! what they don't tell you on website is that they are "open til 3:00"... BUT the kitchen closes at 12:00 noon! ("New hours!" )Would have been great to know before we walked two miles for lunch! And that lost one star.

Came here for a king cake and tried out the carnival one which didn't have anything inside of it. It was really good and not super sweet! They had samples of this coconut cake that was delicious too!

This California girl might've been too much for the counter. Oh well, it was amazing!By the smells, and the people that are continuing to walk in this place has got some good stuff to offer. Looking forward to my first bites to enjoy the wonderful Yummies that I just picked up.

Passion fruit pineapple King Cake is absolutely delicious! The peanut brittle cookie is soft, sweet, strong peanut butter flavor, and a little caramelized chew underneath and on the edges.. so good! I received a very warm greeting from the nice staff and the reggae gave a relaxed vibe. I am impressed and so glad I literally ran out here!

We love visiting this spot when in New Orleans. The SEC breakfast sandwich is fabulous! I tried a gf blueberry muffin and it was amazing.

Bywater Bakery is by far my favorite place for King Cakes. Every year, during Mardi Gras, we order at least two cakes from here. One sweet and one savory.The Crawfish King cake is a MUST try. It comes ready to heat up in your oven. It comes out toasty, flaky on outside and crawfish goodness on the inside. Think Crawfish bread. They creatively put colored Parmesan cheese on top.

The OG for Chantilly cake. Was so so good and I think even better than Whole Foods now. Also tried their everything croissant which I haven't had since City Bakery in NYC (sad, now gone). Everyone there also was so nice and welcoming. Have to come back next time in town especially the bagels on Friday!

Everything in here is phenomenal Hands down favorite special occasion cake bakery: especially the coconut cream!!! What's inside that cake?? AmazingAnd when you come to pick up that cake, you spend another $50 on your breakfast gumbo, the bacon and eggs in a cup (the bacon is perfect and PILED up) and the many many sweetsService is fantastic- they're never not busy and they're hustlin!
