Bay Cafe

Bay Café is always a solid choice. The drinks are great. Prices are awesome and the food is very good.A friend who is in from out of town, wanted to go to Swamp Room for a hamburger. Being a good host, I told him it's not what it used to be. It takes forever there, and I'm not crazy about the crowd. We went there because that's where he wanted to go. We sat down at the bar, ordered two hamburgers and she said it would be about 45 minutes. I told her never mind.From that barstool, I called up bay café, which is about 2 miles away. I ordered two hamburgers, and by the time we got there, they were ready. If I must say, they were much better than any Swamp burger I've ever had!We sat down and had a great conversation with friendly people, the bartenders are very nice, unlike swamp room, and it's my go to place for drinks and a burger!

This place smelled like socks and vomit with 2 daiquiri machines broken, 30 patrons, and one bartender/ no bar backs. I sniffed the air for 5 minutes, nodded at the poor overworked lady, and went to a daiquiri shop that still has some pride.

This is a really solid place for the food that hits you in your grease-cravings - and I do say that in a positive way. We intended to go to another restaurant in the area but it turned out to be closed on Mondays. But Mondays is one of the three steak nights at Bay Cafe, so each of us got a $12 16oz ribeye (or 8oz filet) with sides. I think it was a great deal, but it didn't make that much sense to order half the amount of meat for the same price (yes I know filet can be expensive but this was the more economic decision). I initially wanted the grilled salmon but they were out that night. The service was slightly slower, but we weren't in a rush. They were not cleaning up tables very quickly and the seating is limited, but again, none of this really hindered our experience. The food tastes great, and we loved the Bay potatoes that comes as the default side (cheesy, salty mashed potatoes), and the steaks came out perfectly cooked. I'm not sure if I would visit again soon because of how heavy the food was, but I'm sure anyone out trying to get a few beers would love a hearty meal.

Ah, The Bay. My roommates and I have an unhealthy obsession with this hole in the wall bar. We are here almost weekly. Steak night M/W/F. This means a 16oz steak with a side for $12.99. Beer is a little overpriced and I've never ordered a mix drink but I'm sure the are jacked a bit too. Daiquiris are great though! Bartenders are somewhat friendly but they are overworked and under staffed most the time. Sometimes grown men fight in the bar, but honestly I find it super entertaining to watch someone over the age of 30 not know how to act in public.

I came into Bay Cafe needing a place to provide food within 30 minutes. The bartender was attentive despite the kitchen being slow. The food was good for a quick bar but the kitchen was a lot slower than it should be.

CRAWFISH AND ANDYGATOR BABY!My brother and sister in law lived in the beautiful Metrarie for a few years, during which i was lucky enough to visit and experience some of the best that NOLA"s got to offer: Abita's Andygator & some damn great Crawfish! Although i loved just about everything that the Southern City has to offer, with the downtown food and drink tour being such a bountiful and profound piece of the experience, this place has got what the locals attest to being the best crawfish boil.Daiquiri Bay's did me in REAL GOOD, because after coming here, i dreamt of crawfish for about 3 days in a row. When i got back to New York, I talked about Crawfish for a week. Then i brought my friends to any place in the city that boils. Safe to say that nothing in the Big Apple compared to Daiquiri's boil.I'm looking out my window, seeing snow and thinking Hey, a 3 pounder of craw and some gator beer at Daiquiri's seems like heaven!And the prices are CHEAP!

Good food, lively atmosphere and nice bartenders! Monday, Wednesday and Friday is $12-13 steak day. The two choices are ribeye and filet steak. The filet stead was very good!

Love the hot sausage sandwich, service. Fun place lot go . Everyone is friendly Walking distance to my house

Stopped here to grab a couple drinks after dinner. I live down the street and notice this place is always crowded and always wanted to check it out. Ended up getting kicked out in 10 mins for asking for a menu. The bartender was rude and she even had an off duty JP officer come talk to me. The officer was very nice about it and told me she even kicked him out a couple weeks ago for no reason. While I was talking to the officer she was screaming at me "get the f*** out!" Afterwards me and my group of friends were in the parking lot talking about what happened and noticed she kicked out another group. I called the shop the day after to file a complaint and haven't received a phone call back from the manager yet.
