BATTER

I was in town for an event my daughter was a part of and wanted something sweet. I looked up bakeries near me, and saw Batter was about half a mile from our hotel. When I walked in, I immediately noticed how pink it was. Not my normal vibe, but it was cute. It was very quiet and even the workers were soft spoken. There were a few tables, so I got my coffee and cupcake to enjoy there. My latte was almost too hot to drink, so I had to let it cool for a bit. I got the golden birthday cupcake and it was delicious. It was soft and practically melted in my mouth. The icing was too notch too. Before I left, I snagged some baked goods to bring back to the room with me. I got an assortment: a brownie, a cinnamon roll, a chocolate chip cookie, and a cookie butter cookie. All of them were delicious. I will definitely be making a return trip next time I'm in New Orleans.

I was so excited to give Batter a try! As a lover of all things sweet and cute, this place had already caught my eye on Instagram, and the fact that it's just steps away from my workplace made it even better. I had my sights set on the Nutella Poptart and the Cake Batter Cookies.Upon entering, the greeting and overall vibe felt a bit lackluster, but the staff was still helpful. The interior, however, was absolutely adorable, with lots of pink accents that I loved. Since I was taking my treats to go, I really appreciated the cute boxing they provided.Once I got to try the Nutella Poptart and Cake Batter Cookies, they were absolutely to die for! I love cookies that are fluffy, gooey, and cakey, and these were just perfect. I'll definitely be back for more!

I was very much excited to try this bakery. Number one is because I love confections and simply can't get enough of sweet pastries, number two is that Batter is located only two blocks away from me. I had been following the completion of this store physically while passing by, also on social media. Dropped in yesterday afternoon to finally indulge!Upon walking in, I was greeted by a lady behind the counter. All of the ladies behind the counter seem to be on mute w|no enthusiasm. I'm thinking they were ready to get off. I'm not sure if the lady who spoke was the same who took my order but I felt rushed. I planned on getting cupcakes for a few friends but ended up not getting everything because of that. I settled on a petite four (which I had been dying to try because petite fours have always been my fave ever since childhood), wedding cupcake, and a confetti cookie. The lady who took my order constantly asked if "that was all". That was off putting.After trying the sweets I would say this spot is def okay to stop by if you're wanting something sweet and quick to grab. The confetti cookie was decent, very very sweet and salty-- I know a little kid would absolutely love it. I did enjoy the wedding cake cupcake although I have had better, the petite four.. same. Ambiance is cutesy but a little cold. Love the pink sofa + pillows.Batter is newly opened in the 600 block of Baronne, adjacent to the Virgin Hotel, CBD of New Orleans.

Update: King Cake Croissant, Cinnamon bun, Brookie. YESSSSS!!!!! All three were amazing! Great service and cute interior! I will definitely be back, frequently!

I saw people in there and was just walking by so I stopped in. I had to ask if they were open bc they looked up but didn't really engage? Anyway, you don't have to engage when your chocolate peanut butter cupcake tastes this good! It was soft and chocolatey and the icing was thick and peanut buttery and together it was an amazing bite. It's all I tried and it was good!

Batter Bakery is the best newest thing in the CBD! This bakery is serving up incredible pastries from cinnamon rolls and cookies, to homemade pop-tarts, unique cupcakes, and even king cake slices (during carnival season!). Plus, they are a full service coffee bar with very good espresso. The customer service is top-tier and everyone on the staff is very attentive and kind. This fun, pinked-out interior is sure to bring a smile on your face for the weekend pastry run or afternoon pick-me-up. This is your answer to your sweet tooth craving in the CBD!

It pains me to knock off a star for a bakery that is obviously well liked. This is a new, second location (first is in Hammond) & their reviews for that location are very high. Batter is doing something right! My mom, husband, and I just did not enjoy any of the 4 cookies we chose. I'm not going to elaborate because I hope it's just a matter of preference. The price for the size of the cookies is very good though. I also felt like the coffees were half full & for $6.50, they shouldn't be. We did enjoy the pop-tart, cinnamon roll, and cupcakes. I would like to try the brownies, petit fours, and cake slices eventually. The store is really cute, clean, and quaint, and, as a dog lover, I appreciated them allowing someone to bring in her dog for a to-go coffee. We drove in from 30 minutes away just to try Batter on our day off, so I think 4/5 stars is fair for the parts of our experience that we did enjoy. I'm just sad about the cookies.
