My wife and I lunched at Acao Cafe in Mandeville. This is a family owned business that features Honduran cuisine in a cozy space. If you would like authentic South American food, prepared with original panache in comfortable family-friendly surroundings, its well worth your visit. Service is fast, efficient, and extremely friendly and welcoming. Outside dining and catering are available. There are a number of vegetarian options available. The menu is somewhat extensive and features an array of Honduran inspired dishes, along with salads, sandwiches, etc. I had the Honduran chicken with plantain slices, pickled onions, pico de Gallo, etc, with an excellent house sauce (see picture). My wife had the beef empanadas with house salsa. Both were great! Acao Cafe is highly recommended!

Amazing food and nice people! When the old Abita BBQ clased I was so saddened, but now the location has a wonderful Honduran restaurant that is fabulous.

I read the other reviews and they talked me into coming to this place for lunch from now on. I won't pay any attention to the other reviews because this place was mediocre at best.

I passed by this place several times and finally decided to stop and check it out. l'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this was a Honduran restaurant. One of the menu options was a Honduran tamale, which I've never had, so naturally I had to order one. It was $4 for one tamale, and two tamales probably would've filled me up. $8 for a satisfying, unusual meal - unusual in the sense that not many places around here offer it - from a local mom & pop restaurant? That's a great deal! I'll definitely be returning.

Great Food! I got some tacos and nachos. Best tacos on the northshore for sure! Service was great and Oscar is a real cool dude. Highly recommended to everyone who loves good food! There is a nice patio as well as interior seating. Will be back for sure!

La comida está riquísima, jamás había escuchado de este lugar. Pero estoy alegre que mi hermana lo encontró. El mejor desayuno que he comido en Mandeville. Me encantó todo.

The Honduras fried chicken was an incredible blend of flavors. Large portions, very filling. Wonderful introduction to Honduran food. My husband really enjoyed the pork chop and its smoky BBQ sauce. The peanut butter horchata was also delicious
