I'm so glad we found this little place! Service was a little slow, but it was pretty busy. The food was exceptional! It's decorated well, lots of things to look at while you wait. I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Sometimes you just happen upon a little place that is a diamond in the rough. The Abita Springs Cafe is just such a place. Don't visit if you're expecting fancy, but do stop by if you're looking for original takes on good Louisiana cuisine, with an extra helping of small town charm and friendly service. My wife and I recently visited on a Monday evening and we were pleased with the experience. The Abita Cafe features a rather extensive menu of Louisiana favorites, plus burgers, salads, Po' Boys, and breakfast served all day. They also have a rather large selection of beers and specialty cocktails, and an adjoining beer garden is available for outside dining. This time I had the Boogaloo Bowl, which is an intriguing mixture of catfish, crawfish, fried eggs, fresh chives, etc. served in a white sauce atop a bed of grits, alongside a large homemade corncake. Sounds a little weird I know, but very good! My wife had a traditional omelette, with grits, etc, which was also quite good. They served an excellent coffee. Lots of other good stuff on the menu, so we will look forward to returning.

Sad. Cold egg. Crummy sausage and cold biscuit with even colder butter. Just sad. Usually they are better than that

Comfort food Heaven! Every time I come here I walk away happy, full, and ready for the biggest nap of my life. I got the shrimp and crawfish etouffee in a bread bowl and it was so flavorful and delicious. I also love that they serve their breakfast and brunch all day. The food came out very fast and the staff was so friendly and efficient. I adore the cafe's cozy home-like atmosphere and their strong energy of southern hospitality. Can't wait to come back when I am in town again!

Had a quiet brunch here on a weekday. There is a nice patio if you want to eat outdoors, but the weather was too hot so I ate inside. The inside is small and the tables were kind of tight together. The restaurant wasn't busy so it wasn't a problem, but it could be an issue at a busy time. The customers seemed to be a good mix of locals (who were obviously familiar with the menu and the staff) and the visitors (like me). Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The staff were friendly and efficient without being overly gregarious. My food came out fast and my coffee cup never got empty. The omelette I had was very nicely done. Very high-quality ingredients and light and fluffy as an omelette should be. Highly recommended. There are several menu items I would like to try so I will definitely go back.

Today was another significant disappointment.Last time I did take out, they gave me the wrong meal. This time, the wildberry salad had 90% brown dried chicken that could not be chewed. I have come to the conclusion that they must think they can serve sub par food since they are only one of two choices in town. In the past they overcooked my burger.Maybe if we all boycott, They will decide to take pride in serving the beautiful citizens of Abita.!

Pretty good food, the coffee was not good. The service was really good though, the girls all seemed so sweet. I really like the rustic vibe of the building.

This place used to be so good (years ago), and was hoping it still was. That was not the case. By no means should you call that a cat head biscuit! It tasted as if you pulled it out of the freezer and placed it on a sheet pan. The sausage gravy that I ordered was straight out of the packet and not made from scratch. There were still gummy clumps of the mix (no it wasn't flour to make roux. I tasted it) in the bowl and the microscopic pieces of dehydrated sausage were almost nonexistent. The 4 slices of mushrooms on my wife's Abita Star was a joke. Especially compared to horribly thick slab of cold in the middle ham steak under everything. Overall this meal that came to over $40 for 2 people food and coffee was comparable to Waffle House. Even the service seemed like Waffle House. I had to ask the server for silverware after the food was dropped off and got an eyeroll because of that.

What happened to this place, it is not clean anymore. The first set of flatware give to eat with was filthy, left over food and both knives badly stained. Pricing is high for the size of the food. There used to be five or six vegetarian options on the menu now only the vegetarian omelette.

Bad food and worse service. The outdoor seating was closed, which was odd considering it was 70 degrees and perfectly sunny. We waited an hour for our food. When it came out, they brought me the wrong sandwich. I told the waitress, who took the plate and walked away without saying a word. 10 minutes later, they finally brought out my BLT, which had a pathetic 2 strips of bacon on it. But at least the sweet tea was good.
