I went here for the first time today. The food was great and the service I got was spectacular. My server Christian was just the sweetest. She really made my first time here amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Will be coming back soon. 10 out of 10.

My wife and I brunched at Abita Roasting in Madisonville on a busy Saturday. The venue is a picturesque Louisiana cottage with wrap around porch and garden dining outside, near the bank of the Tchefuncte River, under the Spanish moss draped live oaks. Both service and ambiance are great. My wife had a signature burger and fries, which were reasonably good. I had country fried steak with gravy, served with their signature catshead biscuit, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. I was a little disappointed. The steak was somewhat stringy and tough; the biscuit, while attractive and large, was sort of a crusty, doughy disappointment. A little stale, perhaps? The small amount of gravy with the steak was good, but inadequate in amount for service with the steak and biscuit. The eggs and hash browns were acceptable. We had beers with lunch and a range of good local brews were available. No glasses were available though, just bottles, so I would suggest making frosty mugs or pilsners available to compliment the overall understated country-elegant vibe that is captured so well here. There are good foundations here. Perhaps it was a bad day. We will try again, sometimes.

I've been to this little restaurant three times now, and each visit has been a delight. The location is perfection! It's located on the Tchefuncte and you can pull-up in your boat if that's your preferred mode of transportation. I've arrived once by water and twice by land. Ample parking is available on the street and along the riverfront. The views of the river from the front porch are breathtaking, and if you choose a table in the back courtyard you have views of lovely fountains full of colorful goldfish. On to the food and service.Service is friendly, efficient and on the ball. The food is solid. I've enjoyed every dish I've had. On my last visit I ordered the rosemary chicken salad. It was bomb. If you're close by, give it a try. If you're far away, make the drive. It's a nice spot.

I came in on a Saturday getting kind of hangry. I was promptly seated and brought my requested beverage. I got the Gulf shrimp omelet and oh my goodness, it was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was hot and delicious. I would recommend to anyone in the area.

Everything about this place is great. Coffee is top notch as they roast their beans in house. All the servers are friendly and fun, and the best is the river view just makes everything better. One of the best cooked cheeseburgers on the Northshore - you want it a little pink that is what you get.

Went for brunch on Father's Day. Waited a few minutes and were seated on the porch. Nice breeze and good views. Service was a little slow but the food was good. Coffee was strong! Such a cute little place.

We came here with a large group (about 15 kids and 15 adults). Our waitstaff, Zack and Marley, were incredible and took great care of everything despite the hectic group. The all you can eat catfish on Thursday night is delicious!
