Marisqueria Vallarta Mexican Grill

The waitress asked us as soon as we sat down if we were ready to order, and seemed annoyed while we were there (she would essentially run past our table so we couldn't flag her down, she never refilled our water or salsa, and I wanted to order a beer but we couldn't get her to stop to ask). I asked for a steak quesadilla with double rice no beans. I was brought out my quesadilla with rice and beans, so we asked her if I could have the double rice. She took away my plate and it just was the one serving of rice with the quesadilla. The rice itself was super bland and had zero flavor. I couldn't hear anything because the music was blasting the entire time. We couldn't get the waitress to come over, so my partner went up to the counter and paid so we could leave. We ended up taking home the rest of the quesadillas to give the meat to my dog. I had high hopes going in because the food looked really good but was really disappointed by the food and service.

This review is for the Madison location on Gallatin Rd. First, you cannot get any information about this restaurant online. Their website is not updated, a phone number I managed to find was not a working number. No social media presence for this location. Google search and maps apps do not return any info. But a friend and I wanted to try the new location in the Rivergate area and I finally tracked it down. A week later still no updates to website of social media. Frustrating. The place was empty on a Friday at lunch (note to owners: people don't know you exist). It is attractive and the service was good. The margarita was fine but nothing special. Tasted like a mix I can buy at the grocery store. Chips and salsa were fine. My taco salad, however, kept this from a lower rating. It was very good. I loved the generous slices of avocado. The chicken was well spiced and flavorful. The shell was crispy and fresh. Will it be enough for a trip back to Rivergate? Probably not.

A terrible, terrible experience. Our server was incredibly rude, the music was obnoxiously loud, and the food was mediocre. Our server immediately looked annoyed when she spoke with us and I had to flag her down for several minutes to get the bill. She would disappear or completely bypass our table so we couldn't get water refills. My partner ordered double rice instead of rice and beans that the combo came with and received rice and beans still. When we asked for double rice instead (again) she came back with a single portion. Which we eventually were okay with because the rice was bland and almost inedible. My beans were also bland. The quesadilla was fine. The chicken was well seasoned but dry. The salsa was also fine, tasted like jarred salsa. I did enjoy the queso. The cherry on top of this terrible experience was finding a hair in our food. Do NOT eat here.

Stopped by on a Friday night, we had seen this place after passing by it a couple times since we moved to the area & we're very surprised, the restaurant was pretty busy when we walked in & they had karaoke going on which was a pleasant surprised as it added to the ambience which was lively & fun... the food didn't disappoint either. We had the molcajete which was huge & was a mix of seafood & and steak, chicken, & chorizo.. a lot of food which were all well seasoned & delicious... we also had the ceviche a la playa & an order of oysters to finish it off all were great & recommended.. the dishes are pricy though but again it's seafood & portions are good.

3 of my buddies and I were moving a friend in to Nashville and stopped here for dinner. Great food and great ambiance/staff. Would recommend. We're from Texas and this is the best Mexican food we've had outside of the state.

Service is good. I had the ribs with a unique red sauce with cactus. Delicious. I'm often in puerto Vallarta. N never tasted this sauce b4. We sat outside. The noise from the cars can be loud sometimes. I'd definitely come back.

My experience here has been great every time we come. We usually come on a 15-26 people group and waitress always been happy to take care of us. Food is always excellent. The environment is good (sometimes is loud because of live music) But over all ambience is good.

**Madison, TN location**MY EXPERIENCE..Told to seat ourselves. MAYBE 5 tables occupied. I like to try all restaurants least once...FIRST strike-Took roughly 10 mins for the waitress to come to our table to get drink order and give menus. Restaurant was NOT busy whatsoever. I asked if they have Coke products.. answer yes in can. SECOND strike for me not having fountain drinks (even tho later I asked a different server that brought salsa to table if they had fountain drinks because I see them on other tables- he said yes but limited only to Coke and Dr Pepper because machine's broke- BUT we wanted Coke anyway). So water is what we stuck with instead of asking again for a fountain drink. Placed order when waitress was there giving our drinks. Asked for the special quesabirria combo posted on door and hostess stand as you walk in- I was told "not sure let me go check?". SMH Came back and said "yes ok"? THIRD strike- only ONE meal combo was ordered for our table and it arrived around 45 mins later.. this after tables that were seated after us had already gotten their food and almost finished. Received food- it had no rice or beans- when waitress finally came back around I asked her if she gave me the combo. She pointed and said yes combo. Three birria tacos was the combo? Said you want rice and beans- I said only if it comes with combo! She said NO. ALSO..Glad I didn't have our young kids with us as the party near by repeatedly dropped LOUD F & B bombs...CLASSLESS!!!The ONLY positive plus was the food was HOT. BIG TUMBS DOWN OVERALL...Needless to say WILL NOT be returning. Wondering how long this establishment will last as others in this exact location seem to go under so quickly??

Let's just start off with TERRIBLE SERVICE. We visited the location in Madison, TN, and we will never be back. The food was about a 5 out of 10, service was completely slow for it not to be super busy, waitress did not understand a word we were saying but she was sweet tho, and to top it off the charge you to use your debit card. After getting my ticket and in the process of her checking me out my totals changed, I asked why and she stated they charge a fee to use cards, it was not posted on the menu or posted anywhere in site and we were never informed. The owner proceeded to go back and forth with me and my family, needless to say I will never be back. Terrible place and this is as nice as I can get without using profanity because this is what they deserved today.

Excellent food, excellent ambience, excellent service. On Saturdays they have a live mariachi band. The marisco soup is outstanding. Also the molcajete. The mango Mama Margarita is excellent.
