Lunch today, in Hartsville. The best place in town for consistently good food. Glad they are open. The ambience is exactly what your should expect for a country style food place. Warm and friendly. Everyone is nice, and on their A-Game. I come here a lot for lunch. And this salad, the Grilled Chicken Salad is my usual go too.

My daughter and I ate here tonight. Our service was top notch from our server Kinley. My daughter had the chicken tenders and tater tots. She ranks the tenders in a class of the best she's ever had. I enjoyed the special of the night, a walking taco. It was superb. I would describe it as frito/chili/taco salad. The atmosphere is excellent. We would definitely eat here again.

So this is our first time stopping at this particular establishment. My family and I decided to go out for dinner here for the first time because I am in the midst of a Daniel Fast and figured that a place such as this would have plenty to offer in the way of fresh vegetables and the like.Upon walking in we were greeted very quickly and gotten the table with a friendly Hostess and we were very quickly greeted by a friendly waitress who also was very good the entire time.Upon looking at the menu I was surprised to see that there weren't any sides or vegetables actually listed in the menu at all. Our waitress was kind enough to point to us that they were on a board across the other side of the restaurant on a wall. I have to say that might be a little bit of a bad design although I recognized it with a restaurant like this it's very reasonable to assume that the sides can change depending on the season and other factors but someone with bad eyesight would probably have to get up and walk across the restaurant to go over and look at this board. In a day and age of Technology which they definitely have employed as you can scan the receipt with an iPhone to pay without having to get up from your table, it seems very unreasonable that they do not have the vegetables on some sort of an application where you have the capabilities of scanning a QR code or something to pull up the daily seasoned vegetables or at least have some sort of a temporary menu that you can write things down on.There was a cactus that was on the table as well that I thought was really cute until my daughter was amazed by it since she hadn't seen one and almost pricked your finger on it as you know children will try to touch anything they can. I realized at that moment it may not be the best centerpiece on a table for families that come to eat with young children. When the food came out I will say that my daughter and wife both said that their food was exceptionally great. My daughter got the small kids Burger which I can't remember the clever name of but, they have a array of clever names based on children complaining about their food for all the kids items that I thought was clever. My wife got the Hartsville hot chicken and said that it was actually cooked extremely well and the only down thing that she could complain about was that they didn't provide pickles. Any hot chicken Aficionado would tell you that pickles are a necessity for the balancing of the flavors and spices involved so that may be something they need to consider adding to the dish as well as the traditional Nashville style hot chicken bread slice underneath to catch the spice oil that runs off the chicken. My wife also commented that the fries were exceptionally good and had not had fries quite like that in a long time.I might be the only person that was a little surprised and let down by the food and that's because the salad that I was brought was essentially a bigger version of a side salad. And for a restaurant that was boasting and advertising that it's straight from the farm to the table in one way or another, only contained a bunch of lettuce, cut up Roma tomatoes I believe, and cucumbers. Now granted, as I said I was on a Daniel Fast but I figured a place that had advertising to suggest it was straight from the farm to the table that they would have quite an array of vegetables or fruits even to put into a salad. But unfortunately the majority of the ingredients were meat or dairy based. I do recognize that my situation is a rare one and so I do give a little bit of Grace in that regard as I do not expect restaurants to cater to the Daniel fast. However after finishing eating and waiting for my wife and daughter to use the restroom I discovered a whole sign that listed an array of vegetables that I could have easily had with my salad but it was never presented as an option. It would have made the salad so much better yet the only thing I was told that they had for a salad outside of dairy and meat or cucumber tomato and lettuce. I guess I just expected more from a facility that Prides itself on being straight from the farm.At any rate I intend to return after my Daniel Fast to try the Hartsville hot chicken but I know now in the future that I can get a better equipped Daniel Fast salad from Logan's or a steakhouse, that makes salads with all kinds of things including the tomatoes cucumbers and lettuce.Overall a great experience just was a little shocked by the salad.

Food was really good, but the service definitely could use a lot of work. Our waitress kept disappearing and another waitress brought us our food out. We didn't really get any refills and after we ate I order cherry cobbler. We waited and waited. Couldn't find any waitress let alone ours. Finally our waitress showed up after 20 mins and asked was there anything else and I said yes I ordered a cherry cobbler.

I've been three times twice for meals and once for the ice cream shop. In fact as I write this I think I'll go again next week. The fried Okra is spot on. The Brisket is not a dish for them to hang their hat on, but it's passable. The Pot Roast on the other hand is as good as a pot of gold and the end of the rainbow. Nice folks too. It's worth a visit to just have the hand dipped locally churned ice cream.

If you want a real farm to table experience go to Farmer's Harvest. Everything on the menu is amazing! The specials are also some of my favorites I've had there. The owners are the most personable and kind people! You can tell that they really care about the customers and want them to have the best dining experience possible. Staff is also very friendly and attentive!
